Beep…. Beep…. Beep….

When hearing the annoying little alarm beep loudly at me do I move to smack it right off. My eyes now glaring as I move to look at the time. 7 o’clock in the morning. Ugh.

A groan soon rising again as I move to roll myself onto my back. A huge smile now rising as I move to think back to what happened over the weekend. Having stayed true to his word did Zac promise to keep me completely confined to his apartment.

Then, once sent does Zac move to text back instantly. A smile now tugging at my lips by how much he seemed to care for me.

*Zac: Why? Where are you going? Do I need to come with you?*

*Me: No, of course not daddy. I’m just going to see the doctors that’s all. It’s just to help confirm if I’m truly pregnant or not and if so how far along I am, that’s all.*

Now waiting for a reply back, do I finally leave the safety of my bed. Already wishing that I didn’t have to and that I could stay there all day within my warm and cozy space but knew that I couldn’t. My phone buzzing the moment I stand up.

*Zac: Alright baby girl. Just promised me that you’ll text me if anything happens alright.*

*Me: Alright, will do daddy*

With that finally said do I finally move to shower quickly. Already knowing that my appointment was for 9 and I had wanted to grab a quick bite to eat prior to my appointment that morning.

\-Doctor’s Office-

It’s about 8:30 in the morning when I finally reach the Doctor’s Office. My heart suddenly racing. Currently standing in line in order to get checked in do I move to wait for my turn. Currently third in line as the receptionist works her way through the line of people waiting to see their own primary doctor.

A small piece of me now wishing that I did ask Zac to come along with me but suddenly nervous. A tiny voice within me wondering what other people would think about us because after all, Zac was older than me. Yet to me, age was just a number, and nobody cared unless you made a scene out of it.

Lost in my thoughts do I fail to realize that I was now next in line until the lady moved to speak up. Her voice now catching my attention as she does.

“Hello, how might I help you?”

Attempting to smile, do I instantly feel nervous. My feet slowly moving to take me to the front desk as I now stand before the wonderful lady. “Yes, Hello. I have a 9 o’clock appointment to see Dr. Harper.”

“Alrighty. Give me just one second to pull you up in our system. Ah here we go” says the lady. My eyes now quick to notice that her badge said Elsie Rose.

“Alyssia Brooks. You’re here to see Madilynn Harper correct?” asks Elsie politely.

“Yes, that is correct.”

“Take a seat then please, she’ll be with you shortly. She’s just finishing up with a patient and then she’ll see you next when she’s done okay.”

“Okay, thank you.”

Once checked in do I move to take my seat. The clock now reading 8:45 which meant I spent 15 minutes waiting to get checked in as I move to grab my phone. Deciding to update Zac on how everything was going.

*Me: I made it to the doctor’s. Just waiting to be seen. I’ll text you once I’m done. XOXOXO.*

Hitting the send key once more do I move to feel my phone buzz. My eyes now looking to see who had texted me. A smile soon gracing my lips as I move to see it read Annabel’s name across the top of my screen.

*Annabel: Hey girlie. Where are you? I haven’t seen you yet this morning.*

Giggling, I move to text her back.

*Me: Sorry girl, forgot to mention it. I’m at the Doctor’s Office. I had an appointment for 9. I’ll shoot you a text once I’m done, okay.*

*Annabel: Okay, talk to you soon.*

Smiling again, I just about text back only to hear a nurse call my name. “Alyssia Brooks?” when hearing my name do I move to stand up. Now realizing that it was 5 minutes to 9 which meant that I had spaced out for 10 minutes while waiting.

My feet now quick to move as I move to approach the nurse. “Yes, that’s me” I say, hoping not to sound nervous.

“Fabulous, please right this way. Dr. Harper will see you now.”

Swallowing my nerves do I move to nod my head before slowly moving to follow the nurse.
