Her emotions surged, and she replied with a simple "Okay."

After sending the message, Aileen began to overthink. Cary contacted her yesterday afternoon, and today Geoffrey said he wouldn't be coming back. The coincidence seemed suspicious. What exactly was he doing?

During this time, she had been making an effort to open up to him, thinking that she was getting closer to him. However, the impact of that photo yesterday dealt her a heavy blow. The gap between them couldn't be bridged with just playful teasing.

She made up her mind that instead of passively waiting and accepting whatever explanation he offered, she would take this opportunity to find out the truth.

She checked the Westin Hotel's location using navigation, and it was quite far from their home. She wasn't sure how to get involved in this matter, so she took out her phone and called Cary.

The call was quickly answered.

Not wanting to be too obvious with her anxiety, she tried to keep her voice steady. "I want to talk to you about yesterday's matter."

There was a moment of silence on the other end, followed by a sharp female voice.

"Oh, it's you, shameless bitch! So two-faced, acting innocent in front of others, but behind their backs, you've been trying to seduce Cary as soon as I had an accident..."

"What are you doing?"

A reprimanding voice interrupted the woman. It was Cary's voice, and it softened after a while.

"It's not what you think. Give me the phone."

"I want you to completely cut ties with her! It's because of her that I've fallen to this state! I hate her, don't you already know?!"

The woman's voice was grating on Aileen's ears, and she knew who it was without guessing. The first time she saw Angie in a sorry state at the cemetery, she knew that the scandal had hurt her deeply.

Not hearing Cary's response, the woman continued to rant madly. The sound of the phone hitting something made Aileen's ears feel better.

"Cary, do you despise me? I've been with you for five years, and you still believe the rumors over me? Just like your heartless parents, you immediately distance yourselves from anything that could harm your family. Let me tell you, Cary, I..."

"Have you had enough now?" A furious roar cut off the woman's endless chatter.

The woman burst into tears, and her volume increased. "Cary, how can you be so harsh to me?"

Aileen's temples throbbed, realizing that Cary's parents were a sore spot for him. Angie had indeed touched on something that hurt him deeply. She recalled seeing him at the graveyard, and suddenly, she understood the weariness on his face.

However, what did the Williams family do to Angie that would make her behave so differently and resort to harsh words?

Her fingertip hovered over the red button—now was definitely not the time to communicate.
Until the next morning, Aileen still hadn't received any messages from Cary, but she didn't care anymore. She decided to sneak into the Westin Hotel alone that night.

At 6 o'clock in the evening, just as she was preparing to leave, her phone finally received a call. She joyfully answered the call.

"Aileen, sorry for yesterday..."

"It's okay," Aileen interrupted him; she didn't want to discuss that topic now. "I'm planning to go to the hotel. Is there anything specific I should pay attention to once I'm inside?"

This undercover mission had to succeed, failure was not an option. Geoffrey was highly cautious, and if they alerted him, it would be difficult to gather information next time.

There was silence on the other end of the phone. "There are many informants in that hotel. I can't go there. Once you're in the lobby, walk to the left side under the glass pillar. The last layer of the counter has the clothes and credentials I prepared for you."

"Alright."

"Be careful inside."

"Got it, thank you."

Thanks to Cary's arrangements, Aileen was more polite in her speech. There wasn't much conversation, and she hung up the phone.

The Westin turned out to be smaller than she had imagined, but it was bustling with a large crowd. Two doormen stood outside the main entrance, and there were four more after entering. Each of them had a robust figure, wearing earpieces, and their sharp eyes were vigilant, scanning the surroundings.

Feeling someone's gaze about to sweep over her, Aileen quickly lowered the black beret on her head, trembling with fear, afraid of being recognized.

Thankfully, the person only glanced briefly and didn't grow suspicious, allowing her to breathe a sigh of relief. It was fortunate that she followed Cary's instructions and changed into the uniform of a waitress; even her name tag looked very authentic.

Without hesitation, she headed straight for the 13th-floor presidential suite. When she reached the corner near Room 7, she hesitated. She hadn't expected that there would still be two bodyguards upstairs.
