Chapter 25

Jason

I look around to locate her but she's nowhere to be seen.

Not with her friends, not with her family or anyone she could be with.

My brain plays the scene from all those months ago when I first met her on the balcony.

Without her saying, I knew she must have escaped there just like I did.

Although this place had beautifully crafted balconies that looked over well-maintained gardens and sculptures, I doubted she'd be there considering the lack of vacancy.

I made my way to the second floor, and just as expected she wasn't on either of the two balconies.

I thought she might have gone to the bathroom but I doubted she'd be there, so I decided to drop looking for her now.

Why I was looking for her?

That's a question even I didn't know the answer to.

I was about to make my way downstairs when I felt a gaze on my back.

A piercing gaze.

Something, that could only come from an enemy.

And here, there were many of them.

But I doubted, they were bold enough to show their displeasure of me in front of me.

I was about to turn when I felt the gaze gone. Frowning, I turned around to see who it was.

But there was no one, only the closed shining doors of the elevator.

Without thinking twice, I made my way to the elevator and, upon entering, punched the terrace button.

To my “no shock”, as soon as the elevator doors opened, I saw her.

She was standing there, gazing in the far distance.

Her form, in the dim lighting, was looking as ethereal as it could.

I stepped out of the elevator and walked to stand a few paces behind her.

“What are you doing here?” She asked.

“I could ask you the same,” I replied and took a few steps in her direction until I was standing just behind her.

My hand reached out to her waist, but before I could place it, she turned around and leaned her back lazily on the railing.

Her eyes looked more intense, more fiery, more cautious.

“I have a feeling you'd be following me around quite a lot,” she said, her gaze not once wavering from mine.

“Depends. On what it is that I'll be following you around for,” I replied and raised my hand to tuck a lock of hair behind her ear.

“You look gorgeous,” I murmur as my lips inch closer to hers.

Before I can place my lips on her she puts her fingers on my mouth.

“Someone might see us,” she whispers.

“Then I'll make sure they either become mute or…” I smirk in mirth as I witness her flabbergasted expression.

“Aren't you a charmer?” She asks sarcastically.

I murmur against her palm, “Oh, that I am, or you wouldn't be begging for my cock every time I take you to bed.”

I lick her fingers a little, and she pulls them away, making me chuckle.

She opens her mouth to say something but I silence her with my lips before she can get a word out.

Her lips moulded against mine so perfectly, as if they were just made for them after my cock.

I pull her bottom lip slightly as my hand weave through her tresses, gently tugging them and making her gasp.

My other hand pulls her to me by the waist, and her hand goes around my shoulder before her palm holds my neck, and her other hand situates itself on my chest.

Our tongues meet in a frenzy, sucking on each other but unlike other times when she would easily succumb to my touches, this time she fights for dominance.

And even if I know this change comes from something unknown, I rely on her wishes.

I let her tongue dominate mine and it only fuels the heat inside my body.

The night I had her for the first time, I knew she wouldn't be tamed so easily.

We pull away after a while when the need for oxygen becomes necessary.

Our breaths mingled between our faces, and our eyes locked as we stared at each other.

“I need to go downstairs.”

She whispered and I nodded.

As she moved away from me intending to walk away, I said, “Amara, don't go home tonight. I have something for you.”

She gave me a small smile and replied, “Not tonight, maybe some other day.”

And with that, she vanished behind the metal doors of the elevator, our eyes locking for one last time before they closed.

I turned around and walked towards the railing, took out a cigarette from my pocket, and lit it up before placing it on my lips and taking a drag from it.

I slowly let out the smoke from my lips and took a couple more drags before discarding it on the ground after crushing it.

My hand pulled out the phone from my pocket before I dialled a number and put it on my ear.

“Get me in on the information of everyone who is attending tonight's banquet.”

I heard a reply from the other side and paused briefly before adding, “And send me the update of Luke's latest location.”

With that, I hung up the call and put it back in my pocket.

There was something strange about her eyes and I knew it had to be because of something recent.

Something, I wasn't aware of.

I had my doubts about someone, and I was pretty sure that I was right in my doubts, and if I was, it only meant that I needed to step up my game and protect what I had claimed.
