Chapter 10
THIRD PERSON’S POINT OF VIEW
With Karina in his arms, he continued his journey to Mountain Mulnora where the person who knew of how to get rid of him was. He looked down at the woman he was carrying and smiled. She really knew how to make a wolf happy with the body she had. If she was a mated she-wolf, he would have hunted down her mate and killed him.
Olethros didn’t really feel the mate bond with Valerie as it was the will of the moon goddess. She knew it would cloud his thoughts, so if there were to be some sort of emotional attraction, it would be from a human vessel. But in a situation where a god had taken control of your body and chosen to make the life of your mate a living hell, there was nothing much one could do.
All Layton could do was watch as a psychotic god of destruction and his demonic wolf killed everyone. The death of pack members were all because of Mavros and Olethros. Layton never wanted it, but he could do nothing about it. It was two against one, and he knew he could never defeat them.
When he first met Valeria, he was excited to get to know her, but after being reminded that the time had come, all excitement died down. She would die by his hands.
As he continued his journey, he recalled there was a pack close to Mulnora, and he planned on staying there for the night because of Karina. Nothing needed to be said to the packs’ Alpha, for they knew very well who he was just from his aura.
“Where is your Alpha?” His voice was calm as he spoke to a quivering Beta.
“He is in another pack.” The Beta replied, praying silently that what happened to Alpha Randy’s pack would not happen to them. People who passed by the pack after everything that happened had informed packs nearby.
He looked around the pack house and made a mental note to destroy the pack on his way back from Azrea. He knew no such thing as pity or mercy. What he knew was destruction.
“Lead the way to your Alpha’s bedroom.” He ordered, knowing fully well it would be the most furnished room in the pack.
“T-This way, sir.” The beta led the way to the last room on the East wing.
Olethros loved the respect he was receiving from the members of the pack. If only every werewolf treated him like this, maybe he could save their lives.
“Are you nut? We’re here to kill, not save lives.” Mavros scolded him.
“I said ‘if’.”
The Beta stopped in front of a door and knocked. Olethros let out a sigh and looked down at a sleeping Karina, who seemed to draw the attention of all the pack members. After waiting for less than three seconds, he kicked the door down to reveal the packs’ Luna putting on her clothes.
“Get out.” He told the Luna whose eyes were as wide as saucers.
She was a brunette with eyes like chocolate, and she was human. The Alpha must have gotten mated to a human, as she didn’t seem to fear him at all. Werewolves would immediately quiver in fear if they see him.
“Who the hell do you think you are?” She covered herself with a towel.
Olethros ignored her and moved straight to the Queen sized bed in the center of the room. He gently placed Karina down before turning his attention to the human Luna.
“Please do not upset him,” The Beta pleaded with his enraged Luna.
“You should be asking me to not be upset with him. How dare you ask me to not upset him?” She yelled.
Olethros chuckled, “What is your name?” He asked the woman, putting on his best smile.
“How does that concern you? Get that filthy thing off my bed now!”
Olethros growled low, and in a blink of an eye he was in front of her. “What did you call her?” He questioned, extending his fangs.
“A filth.” She replied.
Gasps could be heard from the pack members at the entrance of the door.
“Could you please get me a knife?” There was a smile on his face.
The Beta nodded and ran off to get the knife. Olethros turned to the pack members at the door, still smiling. “Does she have a pup?”
“Yes sir,” A man answered.
“Wonderful. Get me the child.”
The man immediately ran off to get the woman’s child. She was still yet to understand what was going on. A boy around six years was carried into the room and placed on the floor. The Beta rushed into the room a knife in hand.
Olethros walked over to the Beta and took the knife from him, “Thank you,” He said.
He walked over to the Luna and placed his hand on her forehead. Her eyes turned black, and she took the knife from Olethros.
“What is your name?” He asked again. This time, his eyes were a mix of red and black, letting him taken control of her body.
“Lora,” She responded.
“Wonderful. I want you to cut the fingers on your right hand,” He handed her the knife.
The Beta could do nothing to stop him. He had already mind linked the Alpha to return home immediately, hoping he could do something. Lora nodded and proceeded to cut off the fingers on her right hand. Her son screamed for his mother to stop what she was doing.
“Mommy, stop! Mommy!”
The little boy ran to Olethros and hit his leg, “Evil man! What did you do to my mommy?” Tears were running down his cheeks.
Olethros looked down at the kid with disgust and grabbed him by the neck before throwing him across the room. He placed his hand on Lora’s forehead again, giving her control of her body. She looked down at her fingers that were wiggling on the floor.
“What did you do to my son?”
The pain she felt was nothing compared to the worry she was feeling for her son, who was on the floor and unconscious.
“You refused to give me the respect I deserve, so in return, I shall take the life of your son.”
“Please don’t.” Their heads snapped to the person who had spoken. The Alpha made his way over to Olethros and bowed his head in respect and submission.
“Take my life instead.”
Olethros looked pleased with the Alpha’s proposal. He averted his gaze to Lora, who was visibly shaking.
“Let’s make this more interesting, shall we? Luna Lora,” She lifted her head up, “Kill him.”
“Do it, Lora. For our son.” The Alpha begged his mate.
“I can’t do it.” Lora threw the knife and ran to her mate. Olethros rolled his eyes at the little show in front of him. He was getting sick of it. What he wanted to see was blood spill on the ground and hugging would not spill blood any time soon.
He picked up the knife and walked over to the couple who were now in each other’s arms. Without wasting time, he pulled Lora away from her mate and dug the knife into his chest, making sure it went in deep enough to kill him.
He moved to Lora, who now had a bleeding mate in her arms. Tears rolled down her cheeks, but Olethros wasn’t feeling any pity for her. He wanted her to feel guilty for the death of her mate. Pack members watched as he grabbed their Luna’s hair and pulled her up so she was looking into his cold eyes.
“Look at him,” He shook his head, “You killed your mate Lora.”
Lora put her left hand over her mouth and cried. She knew he was right; she had killed her mate.
“I know how many werewolves value their mates, so I shall let you live. I want you to feel pain every day of your life. That is until I decide to kill everyone in the pack. Take your son and get out of this room.”
He pushed her away and watched as she ran to her little boy. No one dared help her, not even the Beta. He would not die and leave his pregnant mate all because of a stubborn Luna.
“Get up Harry, mommy’s got you.”
She pulled the boy up with her left hand as the right hand was now useless. Courtesy of Olethros.
Lora could finally drag her unconscious son out of the room. She took one last glance at her lifeless mate on the floor. He died because of her. She looked away from the body of her mate. Olethros could be seen smiling at the sight of Lora in pain.
“You,” He pointed at a pack member, “Help your Beta get this body out of here fast or you’ll be joining him.”
He turned around and walked over to Karina, who was now awake and shaking. She had seen just how heartless he really was.
“You’re awake. That’s good.” He caressed her cheek, “Are you hungry?” He asked and Karina slowly nodded.
“Beta guy,” He called, and the Beta turned to him, “Get her something to eat.”
The Beta nodded before proceeding to carry his Alpha’s body out of the room. Olethros turned to Karina, “Are you scared of something? You’re shaking.” He pointed out.
Something? She was terrified of him and what he could do to her.
“You killed him.” She whispered.
“Don’t worry about me killing you. As long as you do as I say, you’ll live.” He kissed her forehead.
Karina knew she had to run away from him, and she was going to do it fast.
Back at the pack, Zayne paced around the throne room, awaiting the return of guards. He had been in search of his sister for some hours now. He couldn’t mind link her or anything. He feared Layton had gotten to her.
“Anything yet?” Carter, Zayne’s best friend, questioned.
“Nothing at all.” His mate, Melody, responded, coming to stand beside him.
Right then, Logan walked into the room. He had gone to see an Alpha on behalf of Valeria. He was her second in command after all.
“What is going on here?” He questioned.
Zayne darted his eyes to him, “Valeria is nowhere to be found.”
Logan scratched the back of his neck. He had forgotten to tell Zayne and the others.
“She left the pack.”
“Are you crazy? You can’t leave the pack!” Maya yelled, blocking his path.
Zayne was just about to leave the house when Maya ran to him. He was so close to spending fifteen minutes with Maya stating reasons why he shouldn’t leave the pack.
“My sister could be in danger and she’s all I’ve got.” Maya raised a brow, “And you guys too. Point is, I can’t sit around and wait for something to go wrong before I act.”
Maya sighed; a sign she was giving in, “Just be careful, please. I won’t be able to live with myself if something happens to you.” She hugged him.
“I will.”
