Chapter 20
THIRD PERSON’S POINT OF VIEW
Immediately Azura relayed the goddess’ message, everyone in the pack was alerted. They had to prepare everything like they did during the Aima Fengari. Once everything was set, they all gathered in the training grounds where the goddess always visited. All they had to do was wait for her to appear, and it didn’t take too long before she did.
Fitia descended from the heavens in all her glory, and all heads were bowed, showing absolute respect. No one had seen her face except Doris and Azura, for they were the only mortals she deemed worthy of seeing her. If one looked up, they could see two figures making circles around the moon.
“Years ago, I cursed you all.” Fitia began, “I believe I do not need to say why because you all know. I have finally realized that I wasn’t mad at you, but at Ophelia. Your Alpha Queen, Valeria, has made me proud. I watched her do everything in her power to help her people, I watched her go through pain when she lost her father and brother. At one point, she stopped caring, but I am glad someone got her on the right track again.”
Valeria swallowed thickly when she heard her father’s name. He had always been there for her whenever she needed him.
“Rhea came here to prove to me you all are worth giving another chance and I am glad to say that she was right. Alpha Valeria has made me proud, for she proved even females could be strong-headed, be brave and fight even when being emotionally hurt. I caused her immense pain by using her mate to test her, and she passed.”
Valeria couldn’t stop the painful feeling in her chest as Fitia spoke.
“Therefore, it is with great pleasure I say the curse has been lifted!”
Deep down, Valeria knew her people wanted to scream with excitement at her words but were trying to be on their best behavior because of the goddess’ presence.
“Alpha Valeria, please step forward.”
“Step forward?” She thought, “But that would mean looking at her.”
Valeria still did as she was told. With her head down, she walked over to Fitia. The only thing she could see were the roses that designed Fitia’s dress.
“Look at me.” Her voice was soft.
Valeria looked up to meet glowing silver eyes that seemed to capture her in them. Fitia lifted her hand and placed it on Valeria’s forehead. “You have done well, Alpha, and on this day, I am giving you a goddess’ blessing. For a thousand years, your people shall not know any pain. I took your mate from you, so in return, I am giving you the power to choose whoever it is you wish to be mated to.”
“R-Really?”
Fitia nodded in response. “Here, take this.” She handed Valeria a flower with half of its petals blue, whilst the rest looked like they were on fire. It was a khisfire. It symbolized her forgiveness.
“After this, take it to your throne room. Keep it somewhere close to your throne.”
Valeria carefully took the flower from her and bowed. Fitia gave her one last smile and then disappeared. The two brothers circling the moon did the same. She was yet to realize that Rhea had left alongside Fitia.
“What the hell just happened?” Logan looked up from the ground before making his way to Valeria.
“We’re free.” She said in a whisper, but everyone heard because of their excellent hearing and began celebrating.
Still holding the flower, Valeria hurried to the throne room with Logan, Carter, Melody and Azura following behind her. Last thing she wanted was to anger Fitia. She smiled widely when she saw a perfect spot for the flower. She carefully placed it into a vase and spun around.
“We’re finally free!” She yelled, tears forming in her eyes.
The tears were from the mixed feelings deep down. Her joy wasn’t complete because two people were missing in her lives.
“I’m sure they are proud of you.” She heard someone say, even though she didn’t see anyone. The voice was what she recognized. It was Aspro.
“Thank you.”

TWO DAYS LATER
VALERIA ROMERO’S CORONATION
Standing on an altar was a woman who was clad in a beautiful dress. The dress covered only a small portion of her shoulders and flowed down into a delicate plunging neckline. It’s a loose fit which covered up her breasts, but did so without making it look awkward or messy. Her arms were covered only halfway down. The sleeves were simple, yet elegant. A perfect combination of grace and style.
The dress’ waist was narrow, but it’s a comfortable fit. A large belt helped accentuate her waist in a stylish manner. Below the waist, the dress was quite snug around her and had a tulip style. The dress was above her ankles and was the same length all around.
She also wore slingbacks, which added simplicity and elegance. To top it all off, she wore a simple, but stylish necklace and small stylish earrings.
Standing behind her were two people who could be identified as her beta and gamma. The female wore a dress that left the top of her shoulders uncovered, but covered the sides and flowed down into a stylish scoop neckline. It’s a relaxed fit which made the dress both enjoyable to wear and look at.
Her arms were covered to only just below her shoulders. Which helped accentuate her gorgeous skin. The dress’ waist was broad, but it’s a slim fit. It’s left simple, elegant and undecorated, creating a look that flowed from top to bottom. Below the waist, the dress was widened and had several asymmetric layers from top to bottom. The dress was just below her knees and longer in the back.
She wore ankle straps, a perfect choice in combination with this dress. In addition to the dress, she wore a gorgeous necklace and an opulent bracelet.
The man amongst them wore a simple shirt and buttoned it up fully to support the elegant tie he wore. On top of the shirt was a sleek vest with 7 buttons with a fairly deep v-line, which made the vest line up perfectly with the jacket’s v-line when buttoned up.
The jacket was clearly made for him; a perfect fit. It had an intricate rope strike pattern which made it look stylish and graceful. The 5 buttons of his single-breasted jacket have been left unbuttoned, giving him a casual yet elegant look. The jacket was the same length all around with a vent at the back. He also wore pants which copied the style of the jacket, both in color and pattern, and were a perfect match for his shoes; a classy pair of plain toe bluchers.
To complete the look, he wore a modest belt which he accompanied with a brooch and cuff links.
They beautifully decorated the hall with colors like gold, white, and deep crimson.
Alphas from all over the world were present, all dressed neatly, and so were their mates. No one wanted to look stupid. Kieran and Hannah were also present. It surprised everyone that a griffin was in their midst, but seeing that their Alpha was cool about it, they kept mute.
Azura wore a plain white dress, as expected, with her hair packed up in a messy bun. Beside her was a delicate silver headpiece set with vivid aqua, vivid green, dark red, and colorless gems. Accompanying it with a scepter with a dark red gem resting atop it.
“Today is the day we crown the daughter of Lucas Romero.” Azura spoke with authority, “The day she becomes queen.” She picked up the scepter and held it out before speaking. “Do you Valeria Claire Romero promise to treat the people of this kingdom fairly and care for your subjects? Do you promise to promise to protect them even if it would cost you your life? Do you accept to take your responsibilities seriously?”
Azura couldn’t hide the smile on her face as she spoke. She was proud.
“I promise to take care of this kingdom and its people and take my responsibilities seriously.”
With that being said, Azura handed the scepter to her first. She then picked up the crown and raised it up, “By the invested in me as oracle of the gods, I crown you, Valeria Claire Romero, the Queen of wolves!”
The moment the crown was placed on her head, cheers erupted throughout the hall.
She was Queen at last.
Her father would be proud, and so would her brother.
Even though she lost them, she had learned something important.
