Chapter 28 Sincerity
**Valerie**
“A deal?” Mr. Drakos seemed to be amused.
He raised up to look at me with an inscrutable smile lingering around his lips. “I don’t think there’s anything else you could interest me, Ms. Davis.”
I gulp in nervousness.
To some extent, he was correct, because I had perhaps known nothing more about the mark than he did. But in a bluntness, I decided to lie.
“I have, actually, Mr. Drakos,” I tried to make myself sounded confident and trustful, “since you are interested in this mark, I can tell you how I got it.”
He raised his eyebrow, beholding me silently and waiting me to carry on.
“And in exchange, I need an answer to my question.” I said.
He smirked sarcastically, “What if I say I’m not interested in your story?”
I was stunned. I didn’t expect he would give such a reply because his reaction to that mark a moment ago had obviously manifested his interest.
“I don’t think your story will worth my frankness.” He added, looking like one of those shrewd businessman who’d only accept lucrative deals
Well, so he was interested but he was like those shrewd businessman who desired positive.
Licking my lower lip in frustration, I asked, “What else do you want, Mr. Drakos?”
As if noticing my unease, he chuckled, “take it easy, Ms. Davis. I am interested in your story, but I don’t trust you.”
Nerves twitched on my temple as I looked away diffidently. I was afraid of the idea that he might see through my lie.
“I need a proof of you sincerity, Ms. Davis.” He said, holding my jaw to lock his eyes with mine.
I stared at him timidly with a bewildered look.
“How do I know if you are not a mole sent by Xavier Murphy to pry into my life?” He asked me in a whisper.
“A…alpha Xavier?” I faltered, “I…I thought you were friends.”
“Friends?” He sneered, “You don’t know much about us, do you?”
I shook my head.
“I have no time to waste on this,” He glanced down to my belly, trailed his finger tip on my skin delicately.
I didn’t understand what he meant, but he looked very impatient, which worried me that I’d lose the chance again. So biting my lip, I asked bluntly in anxiety, “What else do you want, Mr. Drakos, please tell me.”
I supposed my voice must sounded pitiful and helpless as Mr. Drakos seemed to be amused by my plea.
“Have you slept with him?” He didn’t answer but puffed at my ear with a rude question.
“W…what?” I pardoned for his repeat, wondering if I heard him wrong.
Mr. Drakos snorted and inquired in a more crude way, “Has he fucked you?”
My eyes widened in disbelief and my heart sank in a coldness.
“Why do you ask this?” I managed to control the anger in my voice.
“I need your honesty,” He said carelessly while continuing to caress my body with his fingers and palm.
I had now understood what he meant and that made me furious. I regretted to consider him as a man with righteousness and I loathed myself being stupid in front of him like this.
Pushing hard against his chest, I rolled aside to get away from his body. Tidying up the dress, I sat on the edge of bed and glared at him in rage.
“Don’t look me like that.” He sneered, “I told you I’m not a gentleman. It’s up to you.”
His utterance made me speechless.
I stood up and scowled at him, breathing violently to calm down my racing heartbeat.
“If I didn’t get it wrong, Mr. Drakos, you said you were not interested in girls like me.” I retorted indignantly.
He seemed to be surprised. With a slight frown, he contemplated me thoroughly before his lip corner curled into a wicked smile, “You misunderstood, Ms. Davis, I had no desire for your body.” He leant back, propping up on elbows, beholding me through those sarcasm-hooded eyes.
My cheeks blushed fierily under his stare.
“I…I don’t think it has anything to do with the mark on my belly, Mr. Drakos.” I stuttered.
“It’s not?” He paused, raising up from the bed and stepping towards me, “Ms. Davis, you seem to know nothing about that mark, do you?”
I lifted my gaze to him and remained silent, knowing what he said was true.
“See?” He came closer with a smirk, resting his hands against my shoulders, whispering with a dominating voice, “You have nothing to bargain with.”
Though my mind was whirling relentlessly under his inspective gaze, I believed I hadn’t hit a dead end yet.
“Yes, Mr. Drakos,” I admitted, my eyelids falling with a deep breath, “and that’s why I’m asking for your help. You don’t want to miss the truth.”
He huffed a smile, eyes creased creasing at the corners, “Why do you come to me? Since you said that I’m the only one who care about it.”
“I don’t believe in vampires and werewolves.” I said briskly, pulling myself away from his touch.
A deep crease formed across his brow before his lip corner curled into a wicked smile, “Fair enough.”
I was just about to let out a deep exhale, feeling relieved from the agreement when he grabbed my forearm and pulled me towards him. As I flopped onto his chest, he wrapped around me in his hug and buried his nose into my hair.
“Each and every year, there are girls came to me with different shapes of birth mark, claiming themselves to be the chosen one.” He coiled my hair around his fingers and sucked in a deep intake. “None of them were real,” His lips grazed against my ear, hot breaths puffing on my ear.
“You have to take the consequences…” His voice hardened, sending shivers down to my spine, “if you fool me.”
“W…what?” I whimpered, knees weakened.
My heart fluttered though I didn’t tell any lies on this. As he fingers traced the curvature of my body before trailing down to tug up the hem of my dress, I felt the wetness grew between my thighs.
“M…Mr. Drakos…” I stiffened, trying to stop him, but my tongue faltered with thirstiness, my breath quickened fierily.
“Take it easy.” He shushed my voice with his large palm, the other hand continuing to move downward and nudging on my lower belly. My eyes flared wide as his finger slipped into my underwear and brushed over those sensitive clits with a careless flicker.
I tilted my head back and slumped onto his arms as a wave of pleasure came crushing over me drastically. The strong feeling of euphoria overwhelmed by body.
How’s that possible?
I panted violently, looking at him with disbelief and uncertainty.
He had retreated his hand from my private parts and raised it up within the narrow space between us, staring at the slickness on his fingers with aloofness. There was not even a tiny trace of sexuality or desires exuded on his expression.
“Mr.——” I said hastily. But he cut me off with a kiss on my throat, sucking and grazing my neck so tightly that I was pretty sure he left a redness there.
I exhaled sharply, desperately pushing him away. Without much effort, he stepped aback from me, eyeing at me in a short distance with an amused look.
My eyes bulged as I clenched my fists and glared at him in both shame and anger.
“I get your sincerity, Ms. Davis,” He smiled scornfully, as if I was the one who harassed him sexually just now. Then he wiped the wetness left on his fingers casually on that luxurious shirt after sniffing it deliberately in front of me.
His discourtesy and vulgarity left me speechless with useless indignation.
“In exchange, you’ll get my help.” He stated placidly, “I’m happy to tell you what you want to know, but…” He paused before scanning me from crown to feet with an inscrutable countenance.
“Are you sure you ready for the truth, Valerie?” He said in a tempting tone, a light of wickedness flashing on his face shortly.
