PRETTY TROUBLE

Eros watched the drunk woman in front of him. It was so obvious that she was drunk, yet she stubbornly refused to admit it. He sighed. Women will always be women. The clients left after discussing plans for their arrival in Miami. He didn't understand the essence of convincing people about true love to make them use a service, but since it was fetching a lot of money, he was all in, even though he wasn't a man of love.
He watched Cassandra grab the bottle of wine again. She was hellbent on proving that she was level-headed and for some strange reason, he found her so cute and didn't know about the smile plastered on his face until she asked him about it.
She scowled and belched and pointed at his face. "Why in god's name do you have that smile on your face?" Her voice was a little high and drew attention to them.
Eros looked around and found some heads turning quickly away from them. Instead of getting irritated with her like he always did with women, he found it amusing and chuckled.
"Are you laughing at me right now?" she asked, grabbed her purse and pointed it at him.
"If only you know how cute you look, but you have to bring down your voice, you are almost causing a scene and I don't like scenes."
"To hell with what you like, it might interest you to know that I don't like you!"
Eros' brows creased in a frown. He knew most people around him were perking their ears to know what was going on. He rubbed his temple and shifted uncomfortably on his chair.
"I see..."
Leo appeared beside the table and gave Cassandra a furtive glance before speaking to Helios.
"Don, should I dispose of her?"
Eros shot him a sharp look and looked back at Cassandra. "Rephrase your question." his voice was getting icy and he felt anger growing in him, and he almost tasted it on his tongue. However, he didn't know if it was the jabs her words gave to his heart or if he was mad at Leo for daring to use such condescending words for a woman he had made everyone believe was his girlfriend.
"... should I take her home?" Leo said tentatively. The poor man was torn between confusion and fear. Surely, it wasn't his first time following his boss to events like this and he had discharged more women for being less mortifying. This defensive reaction from his boss was new to him.
"Take her to my car...and be careful she is drunk."
"I am not drunk, you Monster King!" she yelled at Eros as Leo grabbed her arm. "Let go of me for I am only tipsy!"
"I understand. I will only help you walk. The ground is a little slippery and you won't want to sprain your beautiful ankle." Leo cajoled.
Cassandra looked down at her feet and the ground seemed to be moving underneath. She quickly grabbed Leo's arms to steady herself while Eros watched with a clenched jaw.
"Alright, alright, just be careful, you too, because the ground seems to be moving. Wait!" she yelled once Leo put one arm on her shoulder.
The man flinched and quickly withdrew his hand from her shoulder. "I didn't mean to..."
She kicked off her shoes and picked them from the floor. "Can we leave now? I hate seeing his face."
Leo led her away from the table while Eros watched them, his hands tightening into fists. Other people were watching now and he could almost read the hilarious headlines tomorrow. No one dared make a video of what was going on because his reputation was no joke, but he knew that somehow, the media would get hold of it. He won't let that happen.
He watched as Leo led her toward the elevator and his heart swore with something like envy. She had called him a monster and it had gotten to him. Never has such name made him feel worse. He had gloried with such name-calling, he knew some of the names people called him.
Lucifer reincarnated, A living terror, The Devil's son, all those names never made him feel bad, he gloried in them as a matter of fact, but just the lash of a woman's tongue got him feeling pained. He stood from the chair and with quick strides, he got to Leo still trying to lead the female gently. He had no time to waste, she was going to explain what gave her the right to call him names to his face.
He swept Cassandra off her feet and carried her bridal style while the woman yelled, cursed and kicked her hands and legs.
"Let me go, I don't want you!"
He ignored her tantrums and hauled her over his shoulder when he saw that her squirming might make her slip from his hands and break her pretty neck. He carried her into the elevator while Leo trailed behind them. The elevator went silent as the doors closed except for Cassandra's curses. Eros pinned her legs with his large, strong arm while she wiggled.
When the elevator finally opened on the ground floor, he walked faster than usual, ignoring the surprised stares at him. Leo walked silently behind him.
He dropped her once he got to the parking lot as she hit his butt with the heels.
"F*ck!" he yelled and grabbed her, pinning her to a car. "You don't like me, huh?"
Of all the questions, that was what he chose to ask?
"You are a monster and I wish you all the pain you caused people!"
"Cassandra, watch your mouth."
She giggled. "Or what? What else can you do other than torture me to your heart's content?"
"I can show you what else I can do to shut you up," he said and before she could say anything else, his lips were on hers, crushing, devouring, hungry. Leo quickly looked to the floor like he has found a new interest there.
He felt her stiffen underneath him. He had intended the kiss as a punishment, but each time he punished her, he ends up being punished. His heart swelled in his chest, her lips were warm and soft and the taste of alcohol on them seems to intoxicate him. What was Cassandra doing to him? Wasn't he supposed to be angry with her? But anger seemed to have sneaked away from him once their lips touched. He regretted trying to prove her wrong with a kiss but didn't regret kissing her.
She placed her palms on his chest and pushed. The push didn't sway him much but it succeeded in pushing his mouth away from hers. He looked at her face and the next thing that happened was something he never expected and something he would have killed anyone for. She slapped him hard and glared at him. He was taken aback and put his hand to his cheek.
"Don't you dare kiss me without my consent again." She hauled her shoes at him and ran off.
"Sh*t!" he cussed and ran after her.
Cassandra was surprisedly a fast runner. Even in her drunken state, she ran too fast for a woman. Eros was sure he hasn't seen the last of this woman. What an amazon!
He caught up with her in no time and grabbed her from behind, wrapping his arms around her. She wriggled her body and the effect made him lose his balance, sending them both to the ground. She still tried to get away from him, but he held her and they rolled on the floor until she stopped fighting. She lay on top of him, her face buried in the crook of his neck.
He stared at the starry sky for a while and burst into laughter, making Leo shiver with uncertainty. This night might just be the funniest in his whole life and who was this woman again? Why does she have the strength of ten men?
"You are a handful, Tesoro," he said, expecting her to retort but she was quiet. Leo bent down offering to help but he restricted him. "I will take care of her." He shook her and when she responded with silence, he became alarmed. "Cassandra? Cassandra?"
He raised her head and saw a cut on her forehead and a tickle of blood. He quickly sat up holding her in his arms.
"Get the car quickly!" he yelled without looking at Leo. He touched her neck to feel her pulse and was grateful when he felt it. At least she was alive. No one has ever put him in this condition before, making him go through different emotions at the same time. Anger, surprise, amusement and worry. It looked like this woman has the power to do that and something tells him that she has the power to do different other things.
Leo arrived with his car in a few seconds and he quickly carried his pretty trouble into the car. Leo zoomed off without waiting for his instructions.
