Chapter 10
*Kassandra’s PoV*
His one touch sent my heart wild, I didn’t get it. How could someone infuriate me, anger me, be so fucking irritating and unreasonable and still somehow make me crave him?
Was it the fact that he was so fucking hot or was it just the way he talked?
The moment he licked his finger, the way those gorgeous eyes blazed purple, the way he licked his lips after tasting me, messed with my mind.
The large bulge against my lower stomach reminded me of exactly what he was packing. I couldn’t deny this connection. Maybe what we both needed was one night… Get whatever this was out of our system and then we could just carry on as usual.
"So, you want me?" I asked softly.
"Don’t deny that you want me as well." He replied seductively.
"If I agree… will you stay out of my business?" I asked, my heart thundering.
"Maybe…"
"Aldino." I glared at him.
He gave me one of those smirks that made my pussy clench with desire before he rolled his eyes.
"If you want me to." He said.
"I will want you to." I muttered.
"Let me know after one night."
My phone ringing made me look at the floor where my discarded bag lay. My heart skipped a beat when he reached down and pulled my dress down again, his eyes locked with mine as he did so.
"If it’s Donovan, tell him something came up." He said coldly, his eyes flashing dangerously.
My heart was fluttering with nerves.
"I didn’t mean now…" I mumbled, realising I had just agreed to one night with the biggest fuckboy on campus, heck, probably in all of New Orleans.
"I’ll drop you home, and I’ll give you a few days." He said with a wink before smirking arrogantly and motioning to my bag, which I simply clutched. "You should at least give your ‘date’ an excuse as to why you dumped him."
"I didn’t dump him…" I muttered, feeling dreadful.
Was I doing the right thing? Nick was just inside, a handsome, charming, flirty, perfect guy. Why the hell did I agree to this arrogant male, even if he was the most handsome man I had ever laid eyes on. Not to mention the way my body reacted to his touch…
"Kas are you ok, where are you?" Nick’s worried voice came.
I felt my stomach twist with guilt, I felt like such a bitch right now.
"Sorry, something came up, I had to leave, I'm so so so sorry Nick. I’ll make it up to you." I said, glancing at Xander’s who clenched his jaw.
"Oh. Are you sure you are ok Kas? You know, you can tell me if something is bothering you."
"I know Nick, I’ll message you later." I said.
"Sure, you looked beautiful tonight, Kas, really beautiful."
My stomach plummeted and I felt so horrible.
"Thanks, you looked handsome too." I said, glancing at Xander. He ran his fingers through his hair and my gaze dipped to the front of his pants, making my heart thud at his obvious hard-on straining in his pants.
"Take care of yourself, Kas, I’ll check up on you later." Nick’s voice dragged my thoughts away.
"Thanks, good night, Nick." I said softly.
Hanging up, I glared at Xander.
"I hate how crap I feel right now. Don’t you get that you can’t just take what you want?!" I hissed angrily. Now that he wasn’t up in my personal space, I felt so mad. He didn’t look bothered.
"I usually do, and I get what I want too." He said arrogantly. "Come on, before your brother sees us."
"Wait, Austin’s here?"
"Yeah, so come on." He said, leading the way towards his very obvious sports car.
"I’ve got my own car." I hesitated, not wanting to be alone with him in such a confined space.
"Oh, come on baby girl, I don’t bite." He said mockingly, placing a hand on the small of my back.
Once again, I felt my entire body tingle at his touch. I jerked away from his touch, getting in without arguing further. The car smelt of him, and I hated that. I loved it, mixed in with expensive cologne and real leather, it was soothing. He got in quickly starting the car. Music filled the car, and I winced, lowering the volume.
"My place or yours?" He asked.
I frowned, shooting him a withering glare.
"Alright, chill the fuck out. We’ll do this on your terms."
"Like that makes me feel any better." I muttered.
Restless and feeling really stressed out, I began fiddling with the strap of my handbag.
"Relax." Xander said, and to my surprise, placed a hand on my knee.
I glanced at him, about to pull away when he simply stroked it and, despite the fluttering in my stomach, I did feel calmer.
"Why… why…" I couldn’t ask him without feeling stupid!
Jesus Christ! This is frustrating, I couldn’t just ask him why his touch soothed me, why I felt these odd tingles!
"Don’t question it." He muttered, almost as if knowing the effect, he had on me.
I simply turned my attention out of the window until we got home.
He parked up in the shadows a little away from the front gates and sat back, glancing at me.
"Kassandra… one second." He muttered.
"Hmm?" I asked, brushing my fingers through my pony, so relieved I was home.
"What was that balm you used that day?" He asked,
I actually wasn’t expecting that, I looked at him feeling extremely guilty.
"I'm so sorry about that, it wasn’t anything with wolfsbane in it!" I said, turning back to him.
"Hmm, so what was it?"
"Monkshood, Mandrake, and Stinging Nettle." I said, "it was only meant to affect demons. I don’t get why it did that to you."
He clenched his jaw, not even looking at me, and I could tell he looked conflicted.
"Can I have some of it to check out?" He asked quietly.
I nodded, feeling dreadful,
"Sure, I can give you some tomorrow." I said softly.
"If you feel so bad, you could give me a kiss to make up for it." He said, arrogantly.
I pouted, all guilt and sympathy vanishing.
"In your dreams, I don’t know where that mouth’s been." I retorted.
"Nowhere, princess, I assure you." He said huskily leaning over, his eyes darkening in the lights of the led from his car screen.
"Xander I…"
The moment he cupped my face, sending off more tingles through me, I stared up into his eyes and I knew I couldn’t say no. That strong magnetic pull to him was pulling me in.
He moved closer, almost as if letting me pull away, but he knew that I couldn’t.
"One kiss." He whispered,
Our breath mingled, my heart thumping, his thumb brushed my cheek, and his hair touched my forehead, I slowly stared into those piercing blue eyes. His gaze fell to my lips, and the moment his soft lips pressed against mine, my eyelids fluttered shut.
A thousand sparks consumed me, and my mind went blank. I couldn’t even respond to his kiss. My stomach was fluttering, my core clenching, and my heart was banging against my ribcage painfully fast.
A gasp escaped my lips as he slowly moved his lips against mine. Kissing Xander wasn’t anything like I imagined. It was so much more, I was expecting a rough, tongue in mouth kiss, but this, this was slow, sensual, and very illicit.
There was something so erotic about the way he ran his tongue along my lips, sucking and nibbling my lips before he caressed them, I reached over, grabbing his shirt to keep my balance, slowly beginning to kiss him back.
Jesus, he was such a good kisser, and the way his mouth tasted, I never wanted to stop.
His arm snaked around my waist, pulling me off my seat and against his chest, I wrapped my other arm around his neck, tangling my hand into his soft hair, kissing him back.
He let out a low growl, kissing me harder. This kiss wasn’t just a kiss anymore, it was more.
We both needed more of this. The way he was kissing me was as if he could never get enough of me. I heard myself moan in the distance, but my mind was blank, save for the way his kiss made me feel.
My head felt light and only when I needed air, did I pull back, coming back to reality when he broke away, breathing hard.
"Fuck, that was fucking unreal." I thought I heard him murmur as he buried his head in my neck, inhaling deeply.
I couldn’t even do anything, breathing hard as I tried to focus and come back to reality. He moved back slowly, staring into my eyes as if looking at me for the first time. I couldn’t read the emotions in his eyes as he searched my face for something. The arrogance I was super used to seeing was gone. He looked so… solemn? I wasn’t sure if that was the word.
"I momentarily forgot about where those lips may have been." I whispered breathlessly, trying to break this intense moment.
It worked.
He smirked slightly, his sore looking lips looking even more kiss worthy.
"Yeah? Then I’ll take it. It was a good kiss." He whispered.
If that ache between my legs had anything to show for it, it sure was far more than a good kiss.
"Good night, Xander." I said, pulling out of his hold.
"Good night, princess." He whispered back, moving away, and pressing the button for the door to automatically open.
I stepped out, my heart pounding, and I didn’t dare look back, before hurrying to the gates. The watchman let me in, and I glanced back at Xander’s car knowing he was watching me.
Something told me that although I had agreed to this agreement of his, it would be far more complicated than that.
I snuck inside, not wanting anyone to spot me, but to my luck, dad was standing there in the brightly lit entrance hall.
"So, it’s a boy. The reason you want to move out?"
"Dad! No."
I didn’t need this right now.
"If it is, you know, we are very understanding. You can bring a man home. You can bring them to breakfast too." Dad protested.
I groaned internally.
"Dad, no one wants to have dinner with the mayor after a night of sex with their kid. Please, it isn’t about a man, it's about me. I just want to move out. Goodnight, Dad. "
I rushed up the stairs, not missing the hurt in Dad's eyes, I knew he felt guilty for sending me away. But it was too late. He had pushed me into a life I couldn’t ever escape from. I wasn’t his little girl anymore. I had been forced to grow up and see the horrors of reality.
Entering my bedroom, I locked the door behind me, placing a finger to my lips, they still tingled from Xander’s kiss.
I closed my eyes, replaying it in my mind...
