Chapter 8
*Kassandra’s Pov*
I walked into his office feeling really irritated, I had a lecture… I didn’t bother taking a seat when he walked in and shut the door behind him.
"Miss King, take a seat." He said,
I looked at him, he was someone, one could class as hot, one of the youngest in the Uni, probably in his early thirties, but he was a perve. He gave me the shivers, and not in a good way, with his slicked back black hair and those grey eyes that raked over me like I was an ice cream to be devoured.
"I'm ok standing." I said.
He nodded, perching at the edge of his desk, and looked at me.
"You know, it’s a serious offence to engage in sexual activity on campus premises." He said.
I resisted the urge to roll my eyes. Please, so many people did that shit, including him.
Yeah, I know I didn’t do anything. Why would you even think that?" I asked coldly.
"I saw you come out of the room with Mr Aldino."
I rolled my eyes this time.
Seriously, he was just asking me something. Nothing happened, and if it did, that has nothing to do with you, and without proof, you can't hold anything against me." I said, turning around when he was suddenly right behind me.
"Miss King… I assure you have a good reputation at this University will do you good, I’m sure your father won’t approve." He murmured.
He was a little too close for comfort, I moved away, turning and glaring at him.
"And I'm sure he won't approve of your antics, Mr Kennedy." I shot back dangerously.
He laughed raucously, throwing his head back as if I had just told him a joke.
"I have a say in many things, Miss King. If you find your grades are lacking and you want a real man, you know where to find me." He said, smirking, his silver tooth glinting.
Was he just insinuating what I think he was?
No fucking way.
I didn’t bother to give him an answer. Rushing to the door, I yanked it open and ran out into the hallway, feeling relieved to be away from his overbearing cologne.
"Jesus fucking christ." I muttered, "What a sick jerk!"
This was Xander’s fault too!
Two hours later, I had just finished from a lecture and made my way to the bathrooms, I had a damn headache, and all morning I couldn’t get either Xander and his weird behaviour out of my head, or Mr Kennedy’s weird offer.
I looked in the mirror, wishing I had an extra hair tie. Note to self, always carry some extras. I ruffled my hair up, trying to style my curls slightly, before taking out my lipstick and applying it. Just then, a group of girls entered, walking around the other side, and began touching up their make-up.
"I can't believe Xander was in a mood all morning…" One of the girls whined,
I glanced at her through the mirror, rolling my eyes as she wriggled her shoulders, clearly irritated.
"I know, I have no idea why he’s being like that. He didn’t even accept my offer to give him head." Another one said adding some powder to her face.
Wow, the walking STD machine really did get around.
You are mine, those were the words he had used. What had he even meant? Like he can't just claim me! If he continues with this weird shit, I am going to have to tell Austen. But he also had one on me, he knew I was a hunter.
"Well new years eve, he loves his fun, so I'm sure he’ll let loose." Another girl spoke, and the others giggled.
"He is so good."
Yuck yuck yuck
I was so done with this right now.
I exited the bathroom and was walking down the hall when I knocked into someone, hitting a wall of muscle and almost fell backwards, but he caught me around the waist, making my heart skip a beat or two.
"Again? Seriously, you were never so clumsy, or is this an excuse to fall into my arms?" Nick said with a wink.
My stomach fluttered and although it was nothing like whatever Xander did to me, Nick was handsome, sexy, and charming.
"Isn't it one of the best ways to get a guy's attention?" I joked lightly as he let go of me.
He gave me a half-smile, flashing his pearly whites.
"You could get my attention any day." He said, leaning against the wall and crossing his arms. Concern replaced his smile. "Kas, is everything ok between you and Xander? I mean you shouldn’t be mixing with him, he’s… not a good person."
"I know, he just has a crazy temper, everything is fine. We aren’t friends or anything, so you don’t need to worry." I said shaking my head.
"Oh, good to hear. So, do you have a knight in shining armour or is that spot vacant?" He asked me, his intense gaze burning into me.
"Depends who’s asking?" I asked, a small smile playing on my lips.
"I am, can I take you out?"
Okay! I wasn’t expecting that.
"Are you for real?" I asked.
"100 percent." He replied with a wink.
I nodded,
"Sure what you got in mind?"
"Dinner tonight?"
"Tonight?"
"Not enough time to mentally prepare?" He joked before chuckling. "Look no pressure, but there’s this new steak house I was actually going to go check out tonight and I wouldn’t mind some company."
"Mhmm, I love steak, the temptation is real. Ok fine, I’ll meet you there."
"I can pick you up?"
"I rather my father doesn’t know, especially as this is just a casual date, and I don’t want him to get ahead of himself." I said shaking my head.
He or Austin for that matter.
"Ok got it, I’ll text you the address. Number?" He smirked and I rolled my eyes.
"Real smooth Donovan." I said, giving him my number before I waved and walked off, ruffling my hair, knowing he was looking at my ass and honestly I didn’t mind.
He was cute.
The day was over and I couldn’t wait to get home, I text Savannah on the way home, telling her about my ‘date’ tonight. She was more excited than I was and she had 110 questions.
Are you excited?
Sex after?
Have you waxed?
Are your legs groomed?
I told her to chill, I was perfectly groomed, thank you very much, and I wasn’t actually planning on anything happening between us. I reached my car and almost groaned to see none other than Xander Aldino leaning against my ride. His face set in a moody frown, and although he looked sexy as hell, I was not going to forget what happened earlier.
His words rang in my head, and a shiver ran through me, and it confused me that my stomach was once again a mess of butterflies.
"That’s my car." I said, not bothering to make eye contact and unlocked the door.
"We need to talk."
That is not happening again! Not after this morning.
"Go away Aldino."
"This is fucking serious, we need to fucking talk." He repeated as I shoved the door open.
He moved, after a cold glance around, and I realised he probably wouldn’t make a scene in public.
"And I said I don’t want to talk to you." I muttered, trying to shut the car door only for him to keep a tight grip on it from the top.
"One fucking chance, Barbie, we need to talk-"
"Let go or I will scream." I threatened.
"Fine fuck all, you want to play fucking stubborn, we’ll play." He gave me a cold glare, and this time I made the mistake of meeting his gaze. "If you want to be stubborn, then we will do this on my terms. We will be talking."
With a final glare, he walked off, clearly pissed off.
Shit, did I just make matters worse? The threat in his final words hung in the air, and I prayed that he stayed far away from me. However, something told me I’ll be seeing him a lot sooner than expected.
