Chapter 16

Raylynn
It was not long before reached their compound. Only about an hour. They had me sat on an old ripped up couch. The building smelled bad, like B O and rotten cheese. They were laughing and bragging about their current victory and how they believed the current King would pay them.
“You are not very smart little lady. He is going to probably end your life.” I ignored him as he kept trying to tell me I was a weak, pathetic wolf and needed some toughening. “At least I know how to shower.” I spat back at them. he rose his hand to hit me and then a portal appeared before me.
“What do you think you are doing.” It was the witch from before. when we traveled back in time. she was a bit older but it was her. She walked over and gently grabbed my arm taking me over to her portal. “Where is our payment witch?” They all shouted at her. “Consider keeping your life as payment.” She then walked us through the portal without a second thought.
When we exited the portal it was like a doorway. From the marble floors to the concrete walls. The décor and giant throne before me I knew I was in his castle. The witch let go of my arm and lowly muttered, “I am sorry.” Before she walked away to the side of the room. “Welcome home child. I have been looking for you for a very long time.”
I snapped my head back to the throne to where the king was taking his seat. He did not know that I knew the truth and he was not the real king. An advantage that I had and would wait until the right moment to expose him. “Why have you been looking for me?” I asked blankly.
“Little girl do not insult my intelligence. I know that you found your traitorous mother and you know I am your grandfather.” I stared at him coldly that I could not fake. “And why am I here?” he smiled with an devilish grin. “You see. Traitors who plot against their king have a punishment. But I have a surprise as well for you.”
To say I was confused was an understatement. The king began walking down the hall where a guard escorted me to follow. I had an eerie feeling that was in the pit of my stomach. He began leading us down the stairs and the farther down we went the colder it was. The smell was getting horrid and I could tell we were heading to the cells.
It was pretty dark down here only the glare from a couple lights lit up enough to see to walk. “Now have fun for you only have a few hours to live.” he cackled as he walked away. The clanging from the iron door being slammed shut rang through the room. I grabbed the bars hoping to catch it in time before locking but was to late.
From what I could see there were many people down here in the cells and from who the king is I knew they were harmless and innocent. “Ugh” I groaned in frustration. This is ridiculous. Now my plan has gone down the drain since he trapped me down here in the dungeon.
I banged on the cell bars loudly but to no evail. “They are not going to do anything you are wasting your time.” I turned to see a young women around my age sitting up against the wall. I really could not tell what she looked like. “Argh.” I heard a deep groan. “Hold on. I will get you water.” I heard the lady say and walk to the corner where the groan had came from.
“What is your name?” I asked but was greeted in silence. “Is the man injured? Can I help?” I asked. “He is fine. He had his daily beating earlier which he was knocked out after with wolfbane. He is only groggy. My name is Beatrice.” “How long has he been here?” I asked in wonder. “Right after me. About ten years now I believe. Sort of lose count down here.”
“Ten years that is absolutely awful. What about your families?” I heard her low sigh. “My mother works for the king to keep me alive and him. All I know is he has one out there and he was taken from them.” it did not take long for me to realize the girl. “Your mother is the witch that brought me here?” I asked gently. “Yes. Do not hold it against her. If she ever denies his orders then I die. What would you do for your family?” I could hear some tension in her voice.
“I do not hold anything against her. I would do the same as that is why I am here. My name is Raylynn Parker. Let me help.” I walked over to where they both were and helped the man rise a bit to put his back against the wall. The glare from the light in the hall glared against this wall allowing me to see some of his face. I jumped startled trying to remain in composure. He looked just like my dad but I knew it couldn’t be. That evil bastard upstairs killed him.
“Are you okay Miss?” His tired voice asked. “Yes, sorry you just remind me of someone I lost a long time ago.” I answered and he touched my hand gently in comfort. When his skin touched mine I do not know how but my powers kicked in. Suddenly I was in a field staring at the king pretending to be my grandfather and his evil men. They were surrounding a man laying in a field covered in blood.
“What the hell. This happened ten years ago.” I knew the shock I felt was all over my face. I turned my head to watch the scene unfold before me. “You will never find them now your majesty.” The injured man spat out. “Oh but I will sometime I will find that precious little girl of yours. What is her name Anaya? I am sure one day I will reunite you before slaughtering her right in front of you.” The witch then appeared grasping his shoulders and taking him through the portal followed by the king imposter.
Anaya, I could not shake it. Is that not what my mother said my father named me? We then returned back to the present and the man was shaking but staring straight into my eyes. “Anaya is that you?” I only stared at him. “Your brother Alexander, your mother. Are they alright?” he asked with sadness in his voice. “My name is Raylynn now. We all thought you were dead.
I spoke to my father for a brief moment and then the other prisoners began talking to us. “How the hell do you think you are going to get us all out of here. The king will never allow it.” One prisoner yelled. “Well many reasons. The first, he is not the real king. He is an imposter who has taken over the real kings identity after killing him. Secondly, My birth name is Anaya and the real king is my grandfather and I am the rightful heir to his throne. Thirdly, my mate is a powerful strong Alpha who probably has his entire pack headed here right now.”
Everyone gasped at my revelation. They were probably in shock from some overwhelming information. I knew the one way to be sure to win this was to free Beatrice. Without the witch on his side he would crumble in defeat. She is the only reason he is where he is. Her magic protects him.
I studied her chain on her waist that was connected to the wall. She had about a three feet distance she could walk. Being a witch she was held in iron that way she did not give much of a fight. I studied the old iron lock. Then it clicked, those dumb hench men were truly ignorant. I grabbed two of the bobby pins in my hair and smiled.
She did not event question me as I began using them on the lock. It was not as easy as it is in the movies but I was not giving up easily. Listening as closely as I could to try and hear the click I needed to unlock it. Finally, victory the lock fell off. “Now Beatrice, you need to remain here like you are locked up to the chain still. I will cause a diversion where I will allow the door to be able to be open.”
She nodded at me and we then heard the footsteps coming down the stairs. “Dad, please remain calm. We have to play this off.” “Alright Anaya, sorry Raylynn.” He responded. I was nervous but I knew if I could get her out than we could win this.
The guard marched in grabbing me roughly by the arm yanking me to my feet. ” Time to go little girl. Your death awaits you.”
