Chapter 17
As he began dragging me out of the cell I started to fight back. As I pounded on his chest I knew his focus was diverted. I managed to grab the keys and throw them to Beatrice. As he struggled with me to try to get me out of the cell, Beatrice unlocked my father’s chain. She then flickered into thin air. Of course her mother is a witch so she has powers to.
Then the guard was ripped off me and stabbed in the throat. I looked up to see the men and women from the other cells standing in front of me. “We have your back Princess.” Is all one man said before he bowed to a knee and the others taking his side and joining him. That is when I felt it. The connection between them and me. They are my responsibility and I need to help them.
Lucian
The tracking device told us she was at the palace. Besides young children and the elderly everyone volunteered to travel and rescue their Luna. I felt so much pride towards my pack. Seeing their loyalty to their Luna and myself.
“Everyone eyes and ears open. We are about to infiltrate the palace walls.” Andrew silently demanded behind me. “Mom, please stay here.” he said to his mother. “No, I have been running from this long enough and it is time to face it head on.” Her voice was stern and I can now see where Raylynn gets it from. We knew there was no changing her mind and I did not want to.
We knew as soon as we got over the palace walls the guards would be all over us. We decided that the first wave would go over the front wall. Then the second wave would be split. They would go over both east and west sides. Mine and Andrews team would be infiltrating the south end. That is where the second entrance to the palace is. ‘NOW!’ I shouted into the link for everyone to do it at the same time.
The pack was holding off the guards well. Andrew, their mother, Abby, and myself snuck through the second entrance into the palace. “No guards, this is not a good sign Lucian.” Andrew said to me and I knew he was right but there was no turning back now.
As we began entering the palace throne room the King was sitting on his throne with several guards surrounding him. Then several appeared behind us, catching us off guard. “Please join me Alpha Lucian. You arrived just in time for the execution of Anaya.” He said her birth name causing a growl to emerse from with me from Lucifer.
“I have tried to be fair with all of you but you and your people do not understand law, order, discipline. Why fight me on this?” this time the growl came from Andrew and Abby. We all were on edge but I felt weird I was angry but not enraged. Then the witch appeared beside the king. “Cuff them all.” She nodded and purple magic flowed around us landing silver cuffs on us.
We could never win with the witch on his side. “Why are you doing this?” I asked strained from the pain of silver radiating on my wrists. “Because I am King and you all will respect me and do as commanded.” Then it clicked I already knew he was not the true king so his commands would not work on us. I began walking forward. “Witch stop him.” I shook my head he knew he could not stop me.
“Why you are the king correct? Why not command me? Instead you use your witch to do all your work for you. Have you ever done anything yourself?” I could tell my words were beginning to anger him. The witch still used her magic to hold me in place. “Actually I think before the execution to the traitors I will allow all to watch. Bring in the town. Everyone will learn today that it is law and if you are a traitor you die. No questions asked.
Suddenly the doors opened and with purple magic everyone was slowly brought into the throne room, one by one including our pack. “Bring the traitors to the front.” Again the witch did as she was told and we were floating in the air until we were all in line in front of the imposter. “Now do you four have anything to say for your crimes?”
In that moment I was actually afraid and I knew the others were as well. I could feel the pack trying to fight the magic but it was to strong for them. For the first time I felt like I failed them. As the king was getting ready to shout out his final orders since we all stayed silent. A door to the side swung open and their stood Raylynn. “ENOUGH!” is all I heard before the others appeared behind her and a gasp was heard beside me.

Raylynn
When I broke through the door to the throne room I saw Lucian, mother, Abby, and Andrew standing in front of this imposter in cuffs as everyone was forced to watch. “ENOUGH!” I shouted as the others from the cell, and my father joined me. Beatrice flickered beside her mother. The witch began crying as she held her daughter and her magic lifted off the pack and the town. She then made the cuffs disappear from my family.
Mother ran to my father hugging each other in that moment the others began to approach the imposter but I threw my hand up for them to stop and they did. “You are no king.” The imposter looked at me with angry eyes but I knew deep down that he knew it was over.
“You are not even the king. You killed him years ago when he denied your request to marry his daughter to your son. Then you had the witch put a spell on you to take his identity. She only did it because you had her daughter as a captive in an iron cell. That is a weakness to witches.” His snarls were not missed by my ears. The witch then waved her hands causing her spell on the imposter to disappear and reveal his true identity.
“You are nothing but a worthless, pathetic, little girl. You have no idea what you are doing.” He spat at me as he realized he no longer had the upper hand. I nodded at Beatrice and she used her magic and held the imposter in place. “You are right i used to be that girl but no more. You are going to show me everything and I will find out who is left from your little game here and there is nothing you can do about it.”
He eyes grew wide as I approached him. I grabbed his hand and quickly our spirits were thrown into the past. We were in a small family home where the imposter stood in his younger form talking to a young gentleman who looked like him. “Father why force this? Neither of us want this. No one does but you.” The young man said to the imposter. “You are my son and you will do what you are told.” The imposter than stormed out leaving the young man to himself.
The young man then turned around and I realized who he was. My former Alpha who died saving me. “Funny isn’t it.” The imposter said to me as we continued to travel. We were back at the cabin I traveled to before where the imposter killed my grandfather. This time we were outside.
I watched as the imposter’s son my former Alpha crept to the window. He watched as his father killed my grandfather. He ran from the scene and we followed in time. Then we appeared to my old pack house. Their stood the Alpha over my young frame in the hospital when I first was found. “Honey, what is wrong.” It was the former Luna talking. “That is Anaya. The heir to the throne my father stole.” She gasped and gripped the Alphas arm tightly. “I have to protect her. I have to protect her from him my love.” She nodded as she agreed with him.
Then again flashing through the air we were at the place where the Luna was killed. There stood the imposter. He was standing over her with a knife. He was smiling like a devil. “I will have her.” He whispered as he was then transported through a portal. Another flash we were in front of the Alpha. This is when he saved my life. “Father, do not do this.” The imposter laughed as his son spoke to him. “No one is going to stop me.” He said to his son as he plunged a silver dagger into his own son’s heart. He watched him as he took his last breath with no remorse in his eyes. We were jolted back to the present where we were now joined by another pack. My old pack. There stood my first mate who abused me and rejected me. Why was he here. “YOU!” he shouted and I knew the imposter arranged this as a back up plan.
