48. WELCOME BACK

"You want to hear?" She gritted her teeth pulling herself harshly away from him.

"Good, then!"

"Because, I was freaking dying to tell you one. But, but, bot now. Once we are back in New Downtown, I will send you letter letting you know about the beginning of everything that had happened. Then I will watch how can you blame me, for everything!" Her words grew more and more louder as she told him about her plan.

"Now, get out Mr. Sheikh. I have witnessed enough of you nonsense." She gritted her teeth, clenching her fingers making Murad glare at her amd walk away with cold mask plastered on his face

Murad stepped out of Taliya's room, the door closing softly behind him. His face was a mask of composure, but a storm of emotions brewed beneath the surface. As he walked down the dimly lit hallway, his thoughts raced, trying to process everything that had transpired. He barely noticed the figure waiting for him at the end of the corridor until he drew closer.

Fahad stood there, his posture tense, eyes sharp. He met Murad's gaze with a steady look, a flicker of concern crossing his features. Murad felt a surge of irritation at the sight of his old friend and confidant, but he pushed it down. There were more pressing matters at hand, and he needed to keep his focus.

"Fahad," Murad said, his voice cold and commanding, "how far are we in catching the intruder?"

Fahad's expression hardened, a mix of surprise and determination in his eyes. He took a step closer, lowering his voice as he spoke. "We've made significant progress," he began, pausing briefly as if to weigh his next words carefully. "Viktor helped us track down the source. It turns out, the intruder is one of our own—a member of the Alpha Team."

Murad's eyes narrowed, a flash of anger crossing his face. The Alpha Team was supposed to be one of their most trusted and elite groups, tasked with handling the most sensitive aspects of their operations. The idea that one of them could be betraying their organization was both infuriating and unsettling.

"Who is it?" Murad demanded, his tone sharp.

Fahad hesitated for a moment, then continued, "It's Amir. He was caught smuggling inside information about our Mafia business."

Murad clenched his jaw, his fists tightening at his sides. Amir had been with them for years, trusted and loyal—or so they had thought. The betrayal stung, a bitter reminder of the dangers that came with their line of work. He took a deep breath, forcing himself to stay calm and think clearly.

"Good work," Murad said curtly, though his mind was already racing with the implications. "I want Amir dealt with swiftly. Make sure the rest of the team is secure; we can't afford any more leaks."

Fahad nodded, his face set with determination. "Understood. We'll handle it."

Murad gave him a brief nod, his mind already shifting to the next urgent matter. "And the flight? We need to get back as soon as possible."

Fahad glanced at his watch. "The plane is ready. We can leave immediately."

Murad felt a small measure of relief at the news. The situation was far from resolved, but at least they were taking action. He turned, ready to head toward the exit, but paused, looking back at Fahad. "Make sure Viktor is kept informed. He deserves to know what's happening, especially since he helped uncover this."

Fahad acknowledged the order with a nod. "I'll take care of it."

"I never knew Viktor could help us out." Murad commented shoving his hand as Fahad arranged things to checkout.

"We never even guessed it, but it's good to have your voice back now and Viktor plans on meeting you."

"My voice, hm. Its just strange it is back just like that after that nightmare. Strang, isn't it?" He sighed as he remembered how every single thing after that nightmare.

"Totally. But it's good. Welcome back!" Fahad patted his back making him nod and follow him.

Without another word, Murad turned and walked away, his steps quick and purposeful. As he made his way to the waiting car, his mind was a whirlwind of thoughts and plans. The betrayal within their ranks was a serious threat, one that needed to be quashed immediately. But even as he focused on the practicalities, a part of his mind couldn't help but linger on Taliya and the complex emotions swirling around her.

As he got into the car, Murad's face was set in a grim expression. The road ahead was uncertain and fraught with challenges, but he was determined to face them head-on. The game was far from over, and he was ready to play his part, no matter the cost.

"Welcome back to the game."
