Family first

Bella had a conflicted feeling. Instead of answering she just hugged Miguel tightly. She was really scared and can't risk the possibilities. She was not that confident enough.

Calling her dad, that's the least thing she wanted to do now that she's finally having good times with Miguel. 

She find it hard to tell him the kind of calls she's been receiving from her so called dad all these days and her own plan of leaving him soon. 

"By the way can I taste it?" she asked trying to change the topic as she pointed her lips to the dish. Miguel's face darkened, he wondered what she was keeping from him that made her change the topic and Bella noticed it.

Then she smiled at him and pinched his nose."I am really sorry if I can't be able t call dad right now. Miguel, I'm not in a good relationship with Dad so.... it'll be kinda hard"  She leaned forward to give him a kiss.

'I am sorry but my decision was final.' She thought inwardly. She will stick with the plan and follow her dad’s  instructions if that would guarantee that miguel will be safe but to do that, she had to make the Miguel happy in the little time they have together. 

She felt Miguel bit her lip. He was kissing her roughly like he was angry and punishing her. Bella doesn't mind at all.

She did not let go but rather cling to Miguel more and just accepted the harsh kissing which was interrupted by Edison who was panting as he ran towards them.

"Sir, I am so sorry for this but Mrs Odette collapsed and was found in the Vegetable garden" He said still gasping for air.

"Where is she now?" Miguel asked while Bella pulled herself out from his arms.

"We carried her  back to her room, the doctor just came to check on her right now." Edison said while he followed Miguel who ran towards Mrs Odette's room.

"What happened?" Miguel asked frowning. His hear beat was pumping hard and fast while he looked at Mrs Odette on the bed with the latter's eyes closed.

"Her blood sugar is high. I already stabilized it. Just make sure she won't forget to take her maintenance medication and eat less sugar. She's fine now and no need to worry," the Doctor  reported smiling.

Miguel was left alone with Mrs Odette in the room. Finally, the latter opened her eyes and smiled at him.

"For goodness sake, why can't you just remember to take that maintenance of yours? You are no longer young anymore so make sure you won't miss it. Now that I’m here, Grandpa will only blame me”  Miguel scolded her.

He was so nervous that something bad had happened to the old woman. She was like a grandmother and a mother that he never had to him. She was the only person who truly knew and understood him when he was younger. 
Mrs Odette was someone who he can talk to without having a second thought.

Mrs Odette rose herself to a sitting position and smiled at him.

"I am not your blood but you are so worried about me right? It's because you considered me as a family. Hope this incident helps you to consider Bella's feeling towards her father. It's the same with her." Mrs Odette said in a serious tone.

He intentionally kept on reminding Miguel to be more understanding so it won't be hard for him in case things turned out not to end according to his plan.

He knew he was becoming redundant on saying those things at him out of nowhere. But she knew Miguel since birth. 

As much as possible, Charles Rodriguez had asked Mrs Odette to make sure to help Miguel get over anythign he might had for bella. 

Without saying, the old lady was sure that Bella wont just sit still without takling any oirders from her father who wanted Miguel dead from the day he was born. 

The next day, Bella readied herself to go swimming so she went out with her one piece swimsuit and topped it with just a loose shirt that she can easily took off.

She saw Mrs Odette outside on a beach chair reading a book.

"How are you feeling now  Odette has your Charles sent some recovery kiss?" she asked smiling as she sat beside her.

"Oh don’t remind me of that jerk, he’s still on about scolding me for not taking my medicine. Those tend to happen whenever I forgot to take my medicines to maintain the normal sugar level in my body." She answered as he smiled back at her.
“Age is not on your side anymore, its normal that you forget things” 

"Are you waiting for Miguel?" Mrs Odette asked.

" Oh yes" Bella responded and crouched beside Mrs Odette, " Odette Mama, did you the rapour between Agatha and Immortal could ever end?"

The old woman thinned her eyes with confusion and curiosity, "Why did you ask such question? Of course it will end of Agatha and Immortal can accept each other's fault and embrace each other"

Bella sighed, skeptical of she should tell the woman about what her dad is asking of her or not, "I don't know that I'll ever be in this situation where I'll have to choose between my love and family" 

"Why did you say so?" The old lady's brow perked up. 

Bella felt a tear run down her face but she braced herself and feel she should open up, "Odette Mama, if one day I betray Miguel and Grandpa. Can you help me tell them that I don't mean it? Can you help me tell them that Just like them, my family comes first in anything I do?" 

Mrs Odette gulped. Bella continued, " MY dad's bad. My mum's dead, my sister is livid and my stepmother is wicked, still they're my family Odette Mama. My family comes first I mut tell you" 

Bella sighted Miguel from afar and used the opportunity to excuse herself, "Oh, your son is here. I'll leave now" 

Mrs Odette watch her leave with mixed feeling. 

"I pray your family realized how much you're sacrificing for them"
