A new dawn
FIVE YEARS LATER
Miguel Rodriguez hissed with disgust as the clouds gathered above his head just when he wanted to start fishing.
It was also so blasted hot and humid he thought he was in a steam bath instead of a cabin in the Rhodesian Castle.
Leaning against the cabin porch rail, he tossed the tip of his cigarette into the ash tray, wiped at the sweat on his brow, then frowned darkly at a clump of tall cattails on the other side of the lake where the fool woman was hiding.
His phone rang at that golden moment which made him look away. A smile crept up his lips as he saw the caller ID.
"Hey Old man, Are you enjoying your holiday?" He cooed immediately the call was answered.
The later on the other side laughed, "Your Grandma wants to say hello"
"Hey Charles's lover, how's the weather over the Mediterranean be like?"
This was Five years ago when the Immortals attacked the island and Bella Trump disappeared.
Miguel was captured by Cartersville Trump who'd came with twice of the battalion Agatha had and demanded the seat of Agatha Chairman as an exchange for Miguel's life.
Charles Rodriguez gave it up when his beloved Grandson is at stake, he lost everything pertaining to Agatha and out of anger, Miguel returned to the Rivers side, Promised never to show up at Liverpool again.
Charles and Mama Odette returned to travelling around with the last days of their lives since Miguel refused to sit down as the CEO of any company, including the ones he had under his own name abroad.
Just as he was about to hang up, Mrs Odette's voice stopped him, "Are you still waiting for her?"
Miguel Rodriguez stopped, his breathing erratic as he remembered last five years ago when he came back and didn't met her around. She betrayed him! That treacherous woman, Bella Trump used him to escape her abusive family and then sold his secret to her family.
"Grandma, can I hang up now?" He grumbled.
The old woman insisted, "No!! Did you still hate her?"
"Grandma please!!" He almost yelled.
He hung up the call and his gaze traveled back to the cattails, were the woman lying on her stomach with binoculars was, he had no idea who the Peeping Thomasina was, or why she’d been watching him for the past five hours.
He'd given up on Mafia. He'd given up on Love and wanted to live the rest of his life in solidarity, Fishing, drinking, smoking and calling his grandfather once in a while.
Growling with frustration, he leaves the balcony to her his own binoculars to see who the Peeping Thomasina was. Slender, blond, on the tall side, maybe around five foot eight or nine. Dressed in boots and khakis and definitely inexperienced in the art of surveillance, and that face.....
Miguel Rodriguez was stunned. Too stunned to talk,as it somehow reminded him of someone, someone who sold his love for her own benefits.
BELLA TRUMP?
NO!
He smirked, she'll never come to my surrounding anymore"
He left to get another packet of cigarettes and yet, she was still there lying there watching his environs.
Miguel only smirked, he could tell that Carter sent her like he sent his daughter five years ago and he fell for it, but not anymore! He thought.
She wouldn’t last long out there. Between the heat and the humidity and the approaching storm, she’d be gone within the hour. If she wasn’t, the mosquitoes would be coming out for supper and they’d simply carry her off.
He didn’t much give a damn. Edison's wedding is in eleven days and after that, he'll be gone to another river and fish for some months before leaving again.
That was all he intended to do, other than fish, consume beer and watch spiders build webs.
When he realized the woman wouldn't leave, Miguel Rodriguez simply leave the place to let her rot under the storm for all he cares.
He knows the woman must've been sent by Carter again, sent to torment him, sent to make him happy and then snatch it back, but he's never gonna fall for it.
At the first low rumble of thunder, Bella Trump knew she was in trouble.
It wasn’t bad enough that it was so hot and humid her eyeballs were melting. Now it had to go and rain, too. And based on the size of the black clouds crowding the once-blue sky, and the smell of the storm in the air, it was going to be a non stop rain.
She growled angrily, "Can't this rain just find a better day than this?"
She lowered her binoculars and wiped at the sheet of moisture on her forehead, then blinked to clear her eyes.
Her phone vibrated from her pocket, Cara manged to get it and read the message, "Till how long are you going to watch him? He's never gonna recognize you?"
Her heart thumped at the message from Camilla, she managed to quickly type back, "I will protect my husband in anyway Camilla, I don't care if he doesn't recognize my new face again"
With that being sent, she tucked the phone back to the trouser before resuming her spying.
This is what she was sent to do Five years ago that landed her in a marriage with this man, Five years ago, her own father kidnapped her and made her confess everything she knows about Agatha before sending his men to cast her away into the waters for fish to devour.
But luckily, Bella Trump had manged to survive and with the help of her friend who'd became a top model, Bella Trump got a plastic surgery and changed her name.
No longer Bella Trump, but Now Valerie Jarrett
Now she'd been hired, hired again to spy on this man. But for a different reason, by different person.
"Now where had the rude heir of Agatha disappeared to?" She mumbled again to herself.
Focusing the binoculars, she scanned the porch he’d been sitting on for most of the afternoon. But he's gone.
