Chapter 75: New Life
Dante
I couldn't shake the feeling that something was strange about me, as if there was a blank space in my mind, a kind of mental gap. I couldn't stop thinking about it, about this feeling that something was missing.
I guess it had a lot to do with the fact that I didn't even remember my name until Luisa told me. I suppose I had no choice but to trust her. She promised to help me, and I hoped she would.
Life as Raphael was a constant mix of training, missions, and orders. My mind, once a whirlwind of memories and emotions, was now an empty space, perfectly molded to receive and execute instructions. Each day began the same: waking up in my cell, a quick shower, and then grueling training that tested the limits of my endurance and skill.
I was on the training ground, facing multiple opponents. Each of them had unique skills, designed to challenge me and improve my own techniques. I could feel the sweat running down my forehead, my muscles tense as I dodged and attacked with precision.
"Raphael, keep your guard up!" one of the instructors shouted from the sidelines. "You have to do it perfectly or you'll be a dead man on your first mission. Do it again and make it right this time."
I nodded, adjusting my stance and blocking the next attack with ease. Every move was calculated, every action was perfect. There was no room for error in my new world.
After training, I was summoned to a meeting with the leaders of our operation. I headed to the main hall, where Luisa awaited me. Her presence was a constant in my life, a figure of authority to whom I owed absolute loyalty.
"Raphael, we have a new mission for you. A high-value target we need to eliminate."
I nodded, waiting for more details. Luisa approached the table and unfolded a map, pointing to a specific location.
"This is where our target is located. He's a rival leader who's been causing problems for our operations. We want you to infiltrate his base and eliminate him."
I studied the map, memorizing every detail. Luisa continued speaking, explaining the risks and potential complications.
"It will be a complex operation, but we have faith in your abilities. Don't fail us."
"I won't fail," I replied, my voice firm and confident.
Luisa observed me for a moment, her gaze penetrating.
"Remember, Raphael, you're our best agent. We can't afford to lose you. Stay focused and follow our orders to the letter."
I nodded, feeling the pressure of their expectations. I knew there was no margin for error. Every mission was a test of my loyalty and skill. I headed to my cell, mentally preparing for the operation.
Hours later, I was on the transport that would take me to the target. The team around me was silent, each focused on their task. I could feel the adrenaline coursing through my body as we approached the infiltration zone.
"Raphael, we're close. Get ready for deployment," one of the operatives informed me.
I nodded, securing my gear and checking my weaponry. The helicopter descended slowly, allowing us to glide silently to the ground. We moved in formation, advancing towards the enemy base with military precision.
Upon reaching the entrance, I used my skills to disable the alarms and open the way. We entered the base, silently eliminating the guards. Every move was meticulously planned, every action calculated to minimize risk.
Finally, we reached the room where our target was located. I observed through the crack in the door, identifying the rival leader. He was surrounded by bodyguards, but I knew I could handle the situation.
"Raphael, we're ready," one of my teammates whispered.
I nodded, giving the signal to advance. We burst into the room with speed and precision, taking down the bodyguards before they could react. I approached the rival leader, aiming my weapon directly at his head.
"This is the end for you," I muttered, leaving no room for doubt.
The rival leader looked at me with a mix of fear and defiance.
"You'll never win. There will always be someone willing to fight."
"I don't care," I replied, pulling the trigger and ending his life.
We withdrew from the base with the same efficiency with which we had entered. The mission had been a success, but I knew there was no time to rest. There was always a new threat, a new target to eliminate.
Back at base, I was summoned again by Luisa. Upon entering her office, I knew she had more instructions for me.
"Good work, Raphael. But our fight isn't over. We have more targets to eliminate and more territory to secure."
I nodded, ready to accept any mission she assigned me. My loyalty was absolute, my determination unwavering.
"I understand. I'm ready for whatever it takes."
Luisa observed me, a satisfied smile crossing her face.
"I knew I could count on you. Keep it up and you'll soon be indispensable to our operation."
I felt a mix of pride and pressure. I couldn't afford to fail. There was no room for doubt or error. Every day was a new battle, and I was prepared to face it with everything I had.
As I left Luisa's office, I ran into Sabrina, a girl who worked with me. Her presence was a constant reminder of what we had lost, but also of what we were fighting to regain.
"How's it going, Raphael?"
"Everything's good. The mission was a success."
"Glad to hear that. Keep your head up. We know there's more to come."
I nodded, feeling a renewed determination. It didn't matter how many missions I had to complete or how many lives I had to eliminate. I was ready for anything that came my way, knowing that every action brought me closer to our ultimate goal.
That night, as I prepared for bed, I thought about what I had accomplished and what still needed to be done. I had no memories of my previous life, but that didn't matter. Raphael was who I was now, and I was ready to face any challenge that came my way.
With that determination in mind, I closed my eyes, knowing that tomorrow would bring new missions and new challenges. No matter how many people I have to get rid of, I will do it to protect this mafia. It is my duty and now it is my only purpose in life.
