~Taking The Alpha Position~

~Joey~
Today is the day I take what is mine because my girl has her Luna Ceremony in 4 days so I need the transition complete before then. I get up and head to the shower. As I wash my hair I link the guys letting them know its time and to meet me at the pack house in 30 minutes. I have been planning this for years and if my girl thought about it enough she would remember I told her she would be my Luna.

*~Flashback~*
*I was heading home from my shift on patrol and I herd crying near the lake so I started to walk faster because I wanted to make for sure nobody was in trouble. What I found was Rose sitting with her feet in the water and tears running down her cheeks. She had a black eye and busted lip and she had bruising on her cheeks and arms and she was holding her left side. I decided to speak as not to scare her. "Rose, are you alright?" She jumped and then grimaced with the movement. "Joey you scared me." she said. I walked over and sat next to her and asked. "Rose, What happened?" She gave a part laugh part gasp response then said. "It was the twin spawns of course. I didn't clean up the guest house fast enough so they could start their partying earlier so this was my punishment. The thing is I was done and taking the trash bags out as they arrived but apparently I should have already been gone." I was beyond pissed they shouldn't treat people this way especially my Rose. "Rose one day I will fix this and make the pay and make for sure nobody ever hurts you again." I tell her as I gently check out what they had done. "How are you going to do that?" She asked. "Like I have already told you I am going to challenge Max and get rid of the twins and you will rule by my side." I say. I place my hand on her cheek and she pats my hand and smiles at me.
~End Flashback~*

I shake my head and finish my shower I have to much to do today to let my mind wander and get distracted. I finished and get out and get ready. As I head to the pack house I have a smile on my face because this has been a long time coming. As I reach the pack house the guys are waiting and Max is coming out the door to head to the training grounds like always but he will not make it to training today. "Alpha Max I challenge you for the Alpha position of The Blue Moon Pack." I say. Max freezes and his face pales a little. "Boy do you know who your messing with." he says. " Yes. I am challenging a Alpha has reached the end of his reign and it is time for a new Alpha to take over." I say and the guys laugh. "Fine you want a challenge you got it but this will be official. To the sacred grounds and into the circle because this will be a fight to the death and only one of us are making it out of that circle." He says. I smile and say. "Lead the way Max." He growls and says. "Boy I am still you Alpha and you will respect me." "I haven't respected you for years because of what you let the twins do to pack members and you just turn your head and I am not the only one." I tell him. he just shakes his head and turns and heads to the sacred grounds.

I wish Joey hadn't said that because if he loses this fight we are screwed. We follow them to the sacred grounds because its a formal challenge we can be here for Joey and Max has his Beta and Gamma but we can't interfere only observe. Once the guys enter the circle the challenge begins and its to the death and only one will step out. As we arrive Max speaks. "A challenge has been made from top warrior Joey and this is to the death. We both will enter the circle and only one will exit. If I am defeated then he will take the Alpha position and you will follow him. Nobody can interfere or interrupt the fight. Understood?" We all say. "Understood." He then continues. "There will be no weapons just human and wolf form can be used. Are you ready son." He asked Joey. " Yes, I am ready." He replied. Nobody but me knew that the witch had put a protection spell on Joey so Max was not going to be able to do much and Joeys hits were going to pack one hell of a punch. As they enter the circle Mary shows up and freezes. I think she actually thought he was kidding because she drops to her knees and starts to cry. "Mary it will be fine." Max tells her. If he only knew. They get in a fighting stance and it begins.

They are in human form for now but nobody know how long that will last. Joey isn't even breaking a sweat yet and there isn't a mark on him. Max however has a busted nose and black eye already showing and it looks like bruises on his right side. He may have a few bruised or broken ribs. He is also sweating and starting to breath heavier. It won't be long before his wolf takes over and shifts. As I think this Joey lands a round house kick to Max's head causing him to hit the ground hard. Not long after he lands he shifts. As soon as he starts Joey shifts. Both in wolf form they stand facing each other. Max's wolf doesn't look good he is panting and is moving slowly. I realize the fight is almost over. Shit I didn't think he would be able to do it but he looks like he is. Joey waits for him to make the first move and the he does he goes straight for Joey's throat which was a mistake. Joey deflects the attack and grabs Max by the throat and shakes him and we all hear Max whine. Ashe is shaking him he clamps his jaws firmly on his neck and then slams him on the ground and takes his claws on his right paw and drags it down Max's chest and stomach. Blood pours out on the ground then you hear a crack as Joey snaps is neck and drops him on the ground and steps back because the fight is over. He shifts back to human form. Mary screams out "Nnnnooooo." Thomas grabs her and holds her as she cries. Joey steps out of the circle as the new Alpha and we all bow and say "Alpha". Joey then does something we never thought he would he walks right over to Mary and takes her out of Thomas's arms and say's "Mary I am sorry it had to be this way and I hope one day you can forgive me." He then hugs her and gives her back to Thomas. I give him the basketball shorts I had for him. "Pack meeting in 1 hour on the training grounds." He says then walks towards the pack house. Well this is going to be fun I thought to myself as we followed him to the pack house. Before going to far he stops and turns and looks at Max's old Beta and Gamma and says. "Prepare Max for a Alpha's funeral he deserves it. He fought well and with honor. We will have it at sundown. " The nod their heads and do as he asks. He then turns and continues towards the pack house.
