62. Greeting The Boss Vampire
*Another dead.*
Hunter shot out on another knight taking it down by its weight and bashed on it until its last breath. Tiredness was slowly taking over his stamina. The stream of enemies didn't seem to be ending, and the battle continued, each kill taking the wolf's strength and leaving his body with a new scars. His legs wobbled, and dark spots appeared before his eyes.
A sudden whip of air and loud growl jolted back Hunter's senses. He saw Cole's ginger wolf straddling a knight and ripping out its head. Cole stepped back from the dead body and turned to Hunter to give him an arrogant huff almost saying 'you-fool'. Hunter sighed knowing one moment of weakness could cost him his life, and it would now if not for Cole. He looked around, seeing his pack battling it out with the waves of bloodsuckers. The vigor and intensity of bloodthirst with which they had started had dimmed down to just surviving. They were tired too.
But still killing them all seemed too easy, which didn't sit right with him. *There had to be something else.*
His eyes widened as he recalled Jared telling him how Odis was killed. Dimitri's army had attacked them from west, forcing wolves out and leaving other sides of pack house with little to no protection.
Hunter growled, *fucker isn't pulling that trick again!*
He immediately dashed toward the other side of forest, mind linking others. He could hear the thump of Cole's feet right behind him.
This time Dimitri wouldn't get away.

As Iosif rounded the corner, he bumped into a hard body. The scent engulfing his nose made him relax. His mate, Kyle.
"Are they coming?" Kyle asked about Sounia and others.
"Yes." Iosif side stepped and continued for the backdoor. He was ahead of them to make sure that knights hadn't infiltrated the other side to allow Marley and others easy path to Dimitri.
Kyle once again stepped in front of him, halting his quick steps. Iosif glared at his mate. There was no time to waste, every second was precious.
In return Kyle cupped his cheeks. "Snow," he whispered and leaned down to catch his lips in a deep kiss. Long gone was Iosif's glare as his eyes closed themselves relishing in his mate's warm mouth.
When they broke the kiss, Kyle looked at him with sympathy which - even though from Iosif's cold nature - wasn't unwelcomed. "I'm sorry it has to be this way. I know how much you love your brother."
Iosif's jaw clenched. "It needs to be done," he said coldly, but Kyle caught the little glint in his eyes, projecting his mate's pain.
White-haired male once again set off, other man right on his tail.

"So, are we going to run to that fucker?" Theo asked, trying to keep his distance from Sounia, who wasn't very keen on granting him that wish.
She didn't trust these wolves, who might use her mate to get to her. Well, her own cousin, Iosif, had already done that...
"There are jeeps. They are for the jungles." Marley answered. "We are going to use them."
"Iosif is already ahead. He isn't going to use any vehicles when his legs are faster," Joseph said, his quick steps urging others to walk faster. "Neither am I going to sit on those. You three are going to drive there." He looked at Marley, Sanjay, and Theo. "Others are going to be on foot to eliminate any threats."
Marley nodded.
"I'm not leaving Theo alone," Sounia said, as they neared house's garage.
"I really want you to leave me alone." Theo gritted.
"I can't let you ride in the car with these three." Joseph retorted. *It is an unnecessary risk,* he thought.
They were in the garage.
"Too bad, I don't need your permission," Sounia said, "either do this or I'm leaving. With Theo." She smirked at feral look on Theo's face.
"Fine, you're coming with us." Marley huffed, before Joseph could speak. They didn't need to waste anymore time arguing, when their pack was on the frontline fighting those knights. Joseph glared at Marley who ignored it, walking in the direction of a green-black jeep.
"Who's going to drive?" Sanjay asked. "I don't trust myself with this out there." He ran a hand on the hood of the shining jeep and then looked at the wide garage door.
"I will drive," Marley replied, getting on the driver's seat. She knew Joseph wouldn't agree with Sounia behind the wheel.
Sounia just shrugged not arguing with her and choosing the passenger. If situation gets out of hand, she could easily control three little humans. Theo and Sanjay- with no other options left- sat on backseats.
The garage door rolled up revealing the crowd of trees ahead. Marley's grip tightened on steering wheel. Two large wolves appeared in front of the jeep. The larger black one looked at them before they headed outside.
"What are we waiting for?" Sounia remarked, looking at the human girl.
Marley shook her head. "Nothing." She turned on the engine. "Let's go."

Eden heard Matthew through mind link. *'Hunter and his packmate are going to the back of pack house. You might want to check it out.'*
*'You can handle them?'* Eden asked Matthew, referring to the knights coming their way.
*'I'll lead. You go.'* His friend replied.
Eden with handful of his warriors sauntered to where Hunter was going. If this was going to be an ambush, he wasn't prepared for it. All his fighters were held here by the horde of never ending knights.

"Turn left." Sounia guided Marley.
Marley's driving skills were today put to actual test. Not only was the forest ground rocky to shake up the jeep into a jingling mess, but the crowd of trees ahead made it even more difficult to guide steering wheel. Human girl barely kept on driving and praying every second.
Sarah and Joseph were behind them in their wolf form. Sounia had already located Iosif and Kyle ahead of them, unknown to remaining three.
Suddenly a black shadow flew right in front of them, almost hitting the windshield. Humans didn't even caught what it was, but Sounia knew. Iosif had just put down a knight coming for them.
They were almost there.
She opened her side of door.
"What are you doing?" Theo asked.
"I am getting out there to help my cousin," Sounia replied before turning to Marley, "just keep on driving ahead."
Marley nodded, her eyes wavering from road for only a second to look at Sounia.
"She's still with Dimitri." Theo cursed.
"She's talking about Iosif. He's out there."
Sounia got on the roof of jeep. She nodded at Joseph, before taking a hold of a tree branch and swinging herself on it. And another battle ensued as more knights keep coming out of the shadows.
Three knights and two wolves took them down deftly, whereas Marley kept on driving, avoiding hitting her comrades or crashing into a tree. Never once in her eighteen years of life had she thought one day she'd be here, driving through the bunch of vampires only to greet the boss vampire.
"Fuck!" Sanjay gasped as the crowd of black suited knight appeared in front of them. They didn't have white lifeless pupils like others, they almost seem human. Almost. Their lean build, bright marbled skin, and superior glint in their eyes put them on the threshold of otherworldly.
Among them in between stood even more enchanting creature. White glistening hair, strong and heavy built, high cheekbones and chiseled jaw with pink lips, and those morbid yet beautiful blue eyes. Dimitri needed no introduction.
All three humans recognized him.
"It's him." Theo said, barely audible.
Marley pressed the brakes. She blew out a long breath. Finally, it's time to end it.

Eden reached the clearing behind the walls of pack house. He caught the fresh scent of Hunter and other wolf, and followed it. A moment later something else hit him. His speed increased tenfold after getting the faint whiff of Marley, along with others accompanying her. Although Marley's scent was heavily covered but it was still not enough to remain unnoticed by Eden.
*Fuck! What are you doing Marley?!* He growled.
Other warriors behind were having a hard time to keep up with him.
Soon Alpha caught up to Hunter and Cole.
*'You smelled them.'* Hunter stated as Eden moved beside him.
*'Marley's with them too.'* Eden huffed angrily.
*'What?'* Hunter looked at large wolf beside him. Iosif did his homework well at containing her scent, yet it couldn't escape her mate's nose. However, it surely escaped him. *'Well, it will not make sense if she isn't with them. Will it?'* Beta chuckled.
Eden just let out another growl and bolted ahead.
