Chapter 7
Giselle's POV
His words were like a smack to my face as I struggled to remain calm and composed. This was the last thing I had expected to hear from him. It seemed like I had just moved from one unhappy relationship to another and I had no hope for a happy future.
I had zero choice in who I was going to marry but I at least wanted respect from my future spouse and I was going to get it. I lifted my chin high and reinforced my resolve. I was a perfect Luna and contract marriage or not I will not be treated like a fool.
I turned away from him to stare at the window as he began to drive again. I began to wonder about his sudden arrival at his wedding. The time he'd arrived had been too close to call a coincidence.
"How did you know where to find me?. How do you even know me?. Now that I think about it, I don't think I ever told you who I was"
Cole raised a thin eyebrow and smirked "it wasn't that hard to find you. I had the hotel manager look you up and I found who you were and that your wedding was being rescheduled. From there on it wasn't hard to trace you and find out everything about you," he said nonchalantly.
That made sense. He was the son of the Alpha king. I'm sure finding me wasn't hard at all.
"I will agree to the contract marriage and everything you say but I need to see someone first before I leave this pack."

We pulled up into the parking lot of a large nursing home. It was surrounded with big trees, a huge fountain and a beautiful garden. It was the largest nursing home in the pack and it's where my grandfather was currently staying. I hadn't seen him in a while because my father wouldn't let me. He didn't even let me invite him for my wedding and that had hurt me badly.
I loved my grandfather immensely. He always supported me and made sure I was happy. I always wished I could see him more often but due to his fragile health I had no choice but to put him in a nursing home.
"Who are we coming here to see here?," Cole asked inquisitively, bringing me out of my thoughts.
"It's my grandfather. He lives here and I want to see him before I leave. Can you please come with me to see him? You don't have to say anything, I will do the talking. I just want to introduce you to him so he can put his mind at rest"
Cole nodded before signaling me to lead the way. I smiled in gratitude at his thoughtfulness. My grandfather's health was failing and it's only a matter of time before he leaves this world.
I passed through the gleaming white building that felt daunting and almost choking. I stepped out of the elevator breathless from trying to hold my wedding gown from not tripping me. It was a daunting task because the dress was large and flowy. Cole reached out to steady me as I almost tripped again from the weight of the dress before helping me to pick up the rest of the dress from the ground.
"I'm sorry," I said sheepishly. Because of my father I'd always been expected to maintain a level of elegance and aloofness but ever since I met him it seemed I always found a way to show him my vulnerable and clumsy side and it irked me.
"No, it's fine. I probably should have insisted I take you home to change first"
"No it's not your fault. I wanted to go see him with my wedding dress on. Come on, let's go. I don't want to keep him waiting"
We reached the end of the hall and we entered into a large room overlooking a view of one of the beautiful gardens. My grandfather sat in the middle of the room on a large bed, his head propped up on a pillow and he was reading a book. As soon as I saw him all the events of the past weeks became secondary as I flew to hug him. I had missed him immensely.
He has lost so much weight now and his once black hair is now turned gray. Sometimes I find it hard to remember my grandfather was once the strong alpha of the silver Moon pack. He was now so weak and oftentimes he even forgets things and people too. It had been a long time since my father had come to see him and from what I had heard while growing up they both didn't care much about each other.
From the bits and pieces of conversations and rumors I had heard they'd had a huge falling out in the past years and they never made peace with each other ever since then. I was too little to take sides but because of the close relationship I had with my grandfather, I was sure my father was the cause of the falling out. My grandfather's health had gotten worse only a few years ago so I had fought tooth and nail to make sure he received the best care in the nursing home although it wasn't doing much good anyway.
I released him from the bear hug so I could look at his face. He appeared confused for a minute before recognizing me and holding my hands tightly.
"My sweet child. How was your wedding?. Where is the lucky man you have decided to marry?. Is he here?"
"Yes he is. He is waiting outside by the door. Should I tell him to come in?"
"Yes, let him come in. I want to see him"
I beckoned for Cole to come in and he entered the room gingerly but kept a safe distance with his hands inside his pocket. Grandfather peered at Cole curiously studying him before tapping the side of the bed for me to sit on and leaned towards me.
"Does he treat you very well?," he asked, his face creasing from concern.
I glanced at my grandfather then at Cole before smiling fondly at my grandfather. Only he would make sure the person I was getting married to would treat me with respect unlike my father.
"He treats me very well. Honestly I would be lost without him. Thank you for caring grandfather," I said solemnly.
He patted my hands happily satisfied with my answer. "I'm relieved to hear he treats you well. You are an amazing Luna and deserve only the best husband that will love and take care of you"
Cole raised his eyebrows at my grandfather's words and I quickly distracted him so he wouldn't give us away. The last thing I wanted is for my grandfather to know about the contract marriage Cole had proposed. It wouldn't hurt to pretend a little bit for him.
"I have something to tell you. It's a surprise"
"Really what is it?," he held out his hand waiting for the gift to be placed there like an excited child on a Christmas morning.
"I am having a baby," I whispered into his ears excitedly.
My grandfather's eyes grew large and his mouth dropped open in surprise. A single tear trickled down his cheeks as he looked at me with joy.
"Grandfather please don't cry," I rushed to his side and tried to wipe his tears. Cole also raced to my side to try to help me. Suddenly grandfather reached out and held Cole's hand firmly and stared into his eyes with seriousness. His strength for a moment caught Cole off guard but it didn't surprise me much.
Before when grandfather was still the alpha of the silver Moon Pack he had fought and won against an elite troop of vampires alongside his pack warriors. He was often regarded as one of the strongest alpha's to have led the Silver Moon pack to become the large and powerful pack that it is today.
"I want you to promise to take care of my granddaughter and my grandchild with your life. She is the only person I cherish in this world. I don't know how much longer I can stay alive but I want to be sure she will be safe and protected even if I'm no longer here"
Cole's usually cold and aloof face now had a softened expression on it. He nodded and shook grandfather's hands saying, "I will."
Feeling relieved at Cole's words, grandfather pulled Cole's hands and settled it tightly around mine and to my surprise he didn't pull away. Something stirred inside of me and I suddenly felt lightheaded.
