Chapter 152 Wedding Night
Finally they were alone together in their suite, where they would spend one night before leaving for their honeymoon.
“You didn’t want to stay longer at the reception, did you?” Byron asked, taking off his jacket.
“No, that’s why I gave you that ‘meaningful look’,” Emily said, “I couldn’t wait to be alone with you. And we’d already had the cake…”
“I see, once you’ve had the cake, it’s time to go,” he teased, taking her into his arms. “It’s not at all about a joining of two families…”
“That cake was something else,” Emily said. “Weddings are all about the cake.”
His lips felt sweet and gentle as he kissed her. “You are something else,” he said. “Now to add a few extra vows…”
“More vows?” Emily said, though she knew he was probably joking.
“These vows are not to be said in public because they’re more intimate in nature…” he said softly in his deep voice.
“Oh…”
He reached to the back of her dress and found the ribbons that held the bodice tightly fastened. Emily felt the fabric loosening around her as he pulled on the ends, untying the bow at her back. She responded by untying his western style bowtie which was basically a piece of leather cord around his collar and unsnapping the buttons on his shirt.
“I promise to please you in any way I can,” Byron said, “I promise to make you satisfied every time that we make love.”
She wriggled out of the dress, and Byron held her arms, helping her balance while she stepped out of the voluminous mound fabric.
“You don’t have to promise that…” she said, “because I know you’ll leave me satisfied every time like you always do. And I’ll do the same for you.”
“I believe you,” he said, looking into her eyes. And for the first time, she realized there was no longer the lingering doubt in his gaze. He no longer feared that she would suddenly take off and leave him heartbroken. Or even if she did, he was strong enough to take it.
All it took was a marriage ceremony, which seemed to bind them together like a magic spell.
They sank down slowly onto the bed, and Emily enjoyed all the sensual charms of her new husband, stroking his face and moving an errant lock of hair out of the way, then tracing the powerful lines of his body.
“So, like the Chipfairies, you believe in magic,” Emily said with a wicked smile.
“What do you mean?” Byron asked. His voice sounded a little hoarse and short of breath. He helped her remove all of her undergarments and stockings. The muscles in his arms tensed while he lingered over her thighs, kissing and licking in a teasing way.
She giggled happily. “Once the ceremony was done, you stopped being afraid that I would run away.”
“You’re no longer afraid too,” he noted. “Maybe you’re a believer in magic just like me.”
“No longer afraid of what?” she wondered.
“That I’d imprison you in this relationship, taking away your freedom.”
Emily realized he was right. She had made the ultimate form of commitment, but she felt perfectly comfortable and free. As desire overtook her, the embrace of the man she had grown to love didn’t feel like a trap but like a loving, safe haven.
“No, I’m not afraid,” she said, “I’m right where I belong.”
Faint sounds of music from the party reached her, but she grew less and less aware of it, enchanted by Byron’s sexy frame. By some strange coincidence, the bed sheets smelled like lavender, which was one of Emily’s favorite scents. Maybe Byron had arranged it with their hosts since he always indulged her every fancy.
Their bodies joined together in a loving, tender way, subtly building up to a faster rhythm. Emily had never felt such happiness and such affection before… Her heartbeat hammered against her chest… The tension of every emotion she felt escaped from her lips in loud moans. Every kiss she received made her crave more and more…
She thrashed about in the sheets, struggling to release the tension which was getting astronomical. All of her desire had been contained throughout the day like bubbles in a soda bottle, and as her body grew hotter and hotter, the energy released at its peak in a storm of electric sparks. When it was over, her body basked in serene relaxation, while her soul luxuriated in the perfect eternal love that she felt for the man who held her sweetly in his arms.
