The next morning I woke up early and quietly made myself breakfast. I wanted to clear my mind, so I did some cleaning to keep myself busy.




After an hour I went up to my room and had a bath. I wanted to go out and tidy up the gardens, but when I left the room my eyes caught something that made my heartbeat pump fast again.




It was Derek, walking topless and walking towards me with no expression on his face.




When I saw him, I felt my whole world stop before him. Fuck, this guy kept making me uncomfortable. He had that distracting attractiveness, he had a defined and desirable body. It was obvious why all the girls were crawling all over him.




"Derek," I said softly.
He turned his gaze towards me, as if he didn't care about my presence.




I stiffened when he stopped and snapped his finger as he took a step towards me. There was a small gap separating us. For a second I thought he was going to kiss me, but suddenly I just saw him walking without a word.




I stood still watching him. I didn't expect you to ignore me like that. However, a bitter smile left my lips. Why did I feel so bad about his indifference?




"Great, don't talk to me! " I said to myself.




I ignored him and went downstairs to the garden. Without a handle, I came across a group of men. I looked around, scanning the garden, and could see that there were several men around the house.




I sighed deeply and went back into the house. Derek had sent his men to guard the house. Thinking about it, I frowned and went to the kitchen. I needed to keep busy, so I thought I'd make some snacks.




When I finished the sandwiches, I put them on the table, waiting for the maids or Derek to try some. But there was no one around me. I sat at the table waiting, until finally Derek's figure passed in front of me.




"Derek... There are snacks" I said, pointing to the table excitedly.




Despite my encouragement, he just gave me a cold stare and walked back into the room in silence.




I was dumbfounded. Is he avoiding me? But why? just because I won't give myself to him? it seemed irrational the way he was acting.




Faced with this, I decided to go up to my room and shut myself away to read a novel. I was engrossed in the tenth chapter, until I heard my phone ring.




My eyebrows widened in confusion as I checked the screen "Mandy?" I said looking at the time on the phone.


"Oh honey, Katlyn, I thought you wouldn't answer," she said.




"Something happened?" I asked.




"No, it's just to invite you to the bar. Come on, we're all gathered here" She said.




Her words gave me an active encouragement "Everybody? Are they back?" she asked.




The reality is that my friends were scattered all over the world, so I felt surprised by what Mandy had told me.




"Fuck Katlyn, I've been trying to find your number for days... we're back and we're at our favourite bar. Join us" Mandy said, making me smile widely.




"That's great! I'll be right there!" I hinted and cut the call short.




I was so happy that all my friends were back in town. I quickly got out of bed and looked for a dress in my wardrobe. In fact, I didn't care if Derek was upset or not, after all, he was ignoring me and I wanted to go out.




There were endless thoughts running through my mind. Mandy's call was perhaps the best one that had happened to me in a long time. Now I just wanted to get ready and get out of that horrible place. Maybe meeting my friends at our favorite bar would make me feel better.




As soon as I was ready, I put on some light makeup and opened the door to my room. I was wearing a short black dress with glitter around my waist and black high heels.




As soon as I stepped out into the hallway my eyes widened as I saw Derek's beta, Garvin, standing in front of me.




The man looked at me with an uncomfortable expression on his face as he ran his eyes from my feet to my head. "Where are you going Miss Katlyn?" he asked me curiously.




I froze looking at him with a frown on my face. "I'm going to meet my friends at a bar. Where's your alpha?" I asked without missing his gaze.




"Alpha Derek left with Jessica," Garvin said softly.
When I heard his words a bitterness was felt running through the pit of my stomach.... "Well, when your alpha returns, don't tell him where I'm going" I said.




At that, Garvin's gaze became strange. "But..." He said.




Before he could finish his words, he immediately intervenes "Goodbye Garvin" I said walking away quickly.




I knew perfectly well that Derek would be angry with me when he found out that I had left the mansion, but I didn't care. I couldn't stay here while he fucked his bitches all over the room and not be ignored.




When I left the mansion I called a taxi and went to the bar La gran Bohemia. It had been years before I came back to this place. I was so excited to go again with my friends.
As soon as I got off the taxi, I looked at the big silver lights, the music was quite loud and the whole place smelled of alcohol and sex. It was clear that nothing had changed. I scanned the tables while looking for my friends until a familiar voice was heard in the background.




"Katlyn over here! " Mandy's voice reached my ears, making me let out an excited laugh.




"Guys!" I said walking towards them.




Mandy, Lulu, and Brianna, have been my friends for many years, along with Violet, but after finding her with Marcus, the girls and I had written her off.




"Fuck Katlyn, we miss you so much!" Brianna said, giving me a big hug.




"I didn't know you guys were back" I said sitting down at the table together with Mandy.




"How could we not live? we heard you married an alpha! That's awesome! a human and an alpha!" Lulu said with excitement in her voice.
I was silent for a few seconds. It was all a lie and my friends thought it was love, could this be any more humiliating?




"Yes, Alpha Derek and I are married" I said emotionlessly.




They let out an excited smile " Fuck Katlyn, you're so lucky! That man is the hottest guy in town. I hear he even has a libido beyond any man" Mandy said with a wink.




I laughed bitterly without saying anything. I just took a drink and poured some alcohol" I don't think we should talk about my husband. He wanted to know how the foreigner was" I said, causing them to let out a derisive laugh.
