EPILOGUE 2

THE FOURTH REALM

King Ares, prim, bare-chested, with a beard red like the flames of hell, long hair to match, and a broad forehead lined with too many battles, stood on the upper ramparts of his castle, his queen, Aphrodite beside him, and overlooked the spread out golden sands of his domain. The grounds sprawled alive the screams of anguish that had been long forgotten and the sky turned red like they had been repowered by strife.

"What is happening?" Aphrodite stuttered.

"Simon has fought his way through the time loop. My son is back Aphrodite."

"That is impossible," Aphrodite coughed out. "Combined divine magic cannot overcome that easily Ares. Are you sure?"

Ares sighed. "Don't you feel the distorting Magicks in the air? Ancient magic is changing the very fabric of time as we speak. The same magick that we used to keep Simon's anger safe from the world."

"Then the realms are in danger Ares, We have to inform the gods. Simon will not relent."

"No Aphrodite," Ares rebuked. "My presence will only bring ruin on the realms. My only hope is that Simon accepts his curse and learns to forgive himself."

At Ares' request, Aphrodite remained quiet, keeping her opinions to herself. Ares was wise and she knew he had a point but looking beneath her, at all she had built with her husband in all their glory, stretching as far as the eye could see, a thriving city walled in by ancient stone fortifications. She feared it would all come to ruin soon. Simon held a grudge above all his other distaste for his father. If Simon came, He would end Ares for the god of war was not the monster he once was and there was nothing stronger than the strife of man and gods fuelled by the rage of a defeated demigod.
