Chapter 34 - Weird Warrior
Julia waited for Michael to finish putting on his armor. He didn't know of her presence yet and she wanted it like that.
Michael checked himself out. He jumped up some few times. It seemed he felt heavy and wanted to confirm that.
"So this is your plan, go out there and steal the glory?" Julia teased him. She walked over to him.
"I'm not going out or anywhere" he flashed his eyebrow.
"Then, why are you putting on an armor if you are not going to the battlefield?" she inquired.
"The palace itself is a battlefield. I am waiting for signal when I should start the fight" he demonstrated some fighting skills.
"If the signal you are talking about is the one I am thinking about. I don't think we are going to get anything" Julia sounded frustrated. She sat down weakly.
"Then we will make the signal. That is why I believed this armor came in at the needed time" he smiled. "Where is our man?" he asked quickly.
Julia was sure he was asking about Harold. She didn't know where Harold is right now.
"I lost him" she moaned.
"Then we are going to find him and when he got his signal is when we move on him" Michael explained.
"And when we move on him, how is that going to give us what we wanted?" Julia couldn't get what he was planning no matter how she tried.
"The plant you saw him with, I believe that is what we need. I will just take that from him with the help of my armor and sword" he laughed.
"Take it from him?" Julia was getting more confused every moment. "I thought the plan is to steal the glory and get what James deserved but now it is about stealing the plant" she chuckled in confusion.
"Julia, you have done your part and delivered a great job. All you need to do now is sit and watch as I complete our mission and steal the glory from him" he must have said that to avoid explaining to Julia in details.
"I will sit and watch" she didn't understand but she trusted him.
"You know I used to hear stories of great warlords that never failed in battles. You know their secrets?" he asked. He was obviously going to tell Julia a story.
She shook her head eagerly.
"They made peace with their wives before leaving for war" he concluded.
"I thought you are going to say they made love" Julia heaved a sigh of relief.
"Peace and love means the same thing. The difference is just the context in which they are used" he argued.
It seemed Michael was getting at it again. He must be looking for a welfare shag from her.
"But you are not going to a war, or are you?" she tightened her face.
"I'm going in search of our man. And that is supposed to be a war on it's own" he murmured.
"You should be on your way because you do not have time" she went to his back and pushed him out playfully.
"I like the way you pushed me. We can push each other all day" he joked.
"We will push each other after you pushed on and reached your dreams" she continued pushing him out.
"I remembered I bought you at an auction with my money. I did not do that to be ordered around by you" he threatened with a playful voice.
"Do you hear that?" Julia seemed to have heard some movement. She pointed to the door for Michael. The sounds was obviously coming from the hallway.
Michael walked to the door. He opened it slightly and stole a glance. He hurried back inside to meet Julia.
"That is Harold" he whispered to her.
"What is he doing around here?" she was surprised.
"He is going to the gate and all I have to do now is follow him. That is the signal. Time to start my own war" he stood right and marched to the door.
"The next thing you are going to hear about me is that I have disappeared" he stopped to say that and continued back outwards.
"You disappeared?" Julia was confused, it took her some minutes before realizing it was a joke.
Michael walked out of his chamber and followed Harold subtly.
What Michael was going to do was not clear to her. But she didn't bother to worry herself with the thought.

"They are just going to die as those that went out before them" the Alpha King groaned on the sundeck. He obviously didn't like how he was watching from above. He would like to be down there by himself.
"Just trust them at least for some minutes. Have faith in your men" Queen Teresa advised him.
"This is not about having faith or not. This is a lost battle. Already lost before it started. They will all be killed" he continued groaning.
"James. I believe James will put an end to this. He said it was nothing to worry about" she assured.
"And that was enough for you to be at rest. This little battle might escalate beyond what we are thinking and become a threat to our kingdom. Imagine if we are being attacked like this on two different fronts, huh?" he asked curiously.
"Just believe in James" she repeated mindlessly.
"Will you just stop the crap you are giving me. James think he is fighting a war. He has no clue about what they are against!" he exclaimed angrily. It seemed he was fed up of Queen Teresa assurance in James.
"I told you" she pointed at the battle field.
The enemies were going down again. Their men were winning. Queen Teresa was all smiling.
"They will get up and restart the fight like they did before" the Alpha King insinuated.
"No. They are dead now. Finally dead" she laughed happily.
"I will like that" he moaned and sighed.
The dead soldiers were getting up again and were attacking their soldiers.
"They are up once again" Queen Teresa said fearfully. She rushed to the Alpha King to hold him tight as she was very frightened.
"I need to be down there" he roared and made to leave for the stairs.
"No. You shouldn't go there" she held on tight to him.
"I shouldn't go there? You want me to watch until the whole kingdom get destroyed?" he asked critically.
"You are weak, Henry. Leave this for your sons while they take care of it" she urged him.
"Which sons again? I have left him in his hands and he has lost two bouts. You want me to wait until there is no one to fight by my side?" he professed angrily. He wanted to get away from her hold but she was straining.
"I am sure James will end it. Just wait" she pleaded.
"What has James gotten on you? Open your eyes woman, James has lost two hundred men!" he yelled.
"Is that enough to judge out of ten thousand men at your disposal" she insisted he shouldn't go.
"The bitter truth is if James has all the ten thousands now to deploy to fight. All of them will be killed" he affirmed.
"And do you know how to kill them?" she remembered him saying the enemies wouldn't die.
"No, I do not have a way. But when I get out there in their midst. I will find out everything that is needed to defeat them" he promised.
"Why don't you try that from here?" he enjoined him to study the enemy from above on the sundeck.
"It is too far from here" he moaned.
"And if you can't find out anything you will go down there" she clarified.
The Alpha King walked back to where he could get a proper view. The enemies had dealt with his soldiers. The few left were running around away from them.
"I need to be down there to be able to do anything" he muttered to himself. He made for the stairs. He moved fast before Queen Teresa could hold him again.
He rushed down the stairs.
Queen Teresa rushed after him. She knew he would first go to his chamber to get his armor.
She went back to the sundeck and looked at the battlefield once again. Their soldiers were finally down.
James and others were climbing down the wall again.
"What are you doing, James?" she muttered.
"What are you doing, James?" she screamed louder. "Now, I understand" she moaned
She had to stop the Alpha King from going down there. She felt he was trying to get the Alpha King into a death trap.
That would not happen. He rushed back to the stairs and headed for the Alpha King's chambers.
He was putting on his armor. He turned back and saw her. He ignored her and continued wearing his armor.
"Henry, this is a trap to kill you by the same person who tried killing you with the talisman in your pillow" she narrated with a grimace.
