Ava was sitting and reading as Zane and Jax were playing pool. Ryder had gone to take Gabriel for their fourth date and Ava was looking forward to getting all the news from Gabriel later, or perhaps tomorrow. It had been an emotional day with visiting her old home. But it had also been cathartic, and she felt better after she had done it. She had revealed more of herself to Zane. She had spent the better part of a week trying to place a wall between them. But it had been emotionally exhausting, and it had felt so much better this afternoon when she didn’t have to watch every single word or action in his company. Maybe she just needed to accept that she had feelings for him. Not that she would let him know. Zane had been very clear what he needed and wanted from their relationship was just sex, no attachment. So she would give him that. Maybe when it was over he would at least see her as a friend. When her time was up with him, she would take her broken heart and she would start a new life. It would be hard, especially now Gabriel had become a part of Zane’s world, and if he and Ryder became a thing, she would have to see Ryder on a regular basis. She could do that, it wasn’t like she would have to see Zane.

“Angel?” Ava looked up at Zane. He stood next to her.

“Yes?”

“I have called you a couple of times. Are you okay?” he asked.

“Sorry, I just spaced out. What did you need?” she asked.

“It’s time for bed,” he told her and held out his hand. Ava glanced at her phone and realised it was only a little after nine.

“Sure,” she said, and let him help her out of the armchair she had been sitting in. “Good night Jax.”

“Good night, Ava,” Jax said with a sweet smile. He had relaxed around her enough to sometimes drop his mask of the nonchalant playboy and let her see the sweet man he was behind it.

“Are you not feeling well? You never go to bed this early,” Ava asked, worried, as they walked upstairs. Zane chuckled and kissed her hand.

“I have a suggestion for you, but I think it’s better we have that discussion in private,” he told her. It peaked Ava’s curiosity. The way he said it made it seem like something private, maybe even sexual. That thought sent a pulse straight to Ava’s lower parts. Zane took her into his room and when the door closed behind them, he was behind Ava, and started kissing her neck. It wasn’t demanding or burning. He placed light kisses along her shoulder and neck. Ava tried to hold back the soft moan that wanted to escape her. She relaxed into Zane and let her one hand go up to grab his hair. “I have something to talk to you about,” Zane whispered to Ava, and then continued to kiss her neck.

“Aha.”

“I want to try something new with you. You know you can always say no if you feel uncomfortable,” he said as his hands gripped her hips to draw her closer to him.

“Yes,” she agreed.

“I want to blindfold you, angel. Then I want to strip you down naked and tie you to the bed and worship this perfect body of yours, make you cum over and over again until all the stress and worry has left your body and the only thing remaining is utter bliss.” Zane had his mouth close to her ear as he whispered the words to her. The small stirring of the air tickled her just as his words sent trembles through her body. What Zane suggested was for her to give up all her control to him and leave herself completely at his mercy, the ultimate act of trust. After what she had been through, Ava hadn’t thought she would be willing to do anything like it. But when Zane whispered it to her, it sounded so tempting to let him take control for just a while. She remembered the feeling she had when he spanked her, the feeling of being free. Ava wanted that feeling, but she didn’t know if she could let herself go like that again. Zane had remained silent as she was thinking. He didn’t demand an answer, didn’t try to persuade her. He had just laid his offer out for her to accept or reject and was patiently kissing her neck and shaping her waist with his firm hands.

“Okay,” Ava said with a nod. Zane’s hands stilled for a moment before resuming their seductive movements.

“If you need more time to think about it, that’s okay, we don’t have to do it today,” he told her.

“It’s okay, Zane. I trust you and I want to try handing over control to you,” she reassured him. He made an almost desperate sound against her skin.

“Fuck, Angel. You can’t say things like that, or I will lose control,” he said and let his hands run in under the shirt she was wearing. Ava smiled. She liked that she could have that effect on him. “You can end this anytime you want. You just need to use the safe word. What is your safe word, angel?”

“Three”

“Good girl. We will add a new word today. If you want me to pause, if you need to catch your breath or just need me to back off a little, you tell me ‘Two’. Do you understand?”

“Yes, ‘Two’ if I get overwhelmed,” Ava said.

“That’s right. And just for tonight you will call me Sir. Do you understand, angel?” Zane whispered to her. Ava was lost in a fog of desire. She had never thought she would like something like this, but the way Zane’s words ignited her lust was tantalising.

“Yes, Sir,” she said.

“Good girl. Close your eyes for me, Ava.” Ava closed her eyes, and she felt something soft being placed over her eyes and tied to her head. Zane was careful not to get her hair tangled in the knot. The world had become black, and Ava tried to listen to get any clues about what Zane was doing. She felt his hands let go of her hips as he took a step back so they no longer had contact with each other. Light as a feather Zane caressed her arm with his fingers, all the way up to her shoulder. There was the soft sound of his steps on the carpet as he moved from behind her to in front of her. Ava stood still. She could feel her heart thumping, her breaths echoed in her ears and the single point of focus was Zane’s touch. His hand glided over her shoulder and to her neck. His touch went from nearly none existing to rough and demanding as he took a hold around her neck and closed the distance between them in a fiery kiss. Ava melted into the kiss and her body took a half a step closer to Zane and her hands went up to find his shirt to grab hold of him.

“Ah, ah, angel. No touching without my permission, hands by your side.”

“Yes, Sir,” Ava said and forced her hands to let go of Zane and her arms to fall down her sides. She felt him unbuttoning the top button on her shirt. Then the next one, and the next one. He did it slow. To Ava, it felt like torture. She wanted his hands on her and she counted each button, trying to remember how many buttons the shirt had.

“Fuck, what are you wearing?” Zane groaned as he got about halfway down the row of buttons. Ava froze for a second, trying to think of what he talked about. Then she smiled. She had put on a new bra. It was almost see-through except for a rose-patterned white lace covering just the nipples. The same lace flowed down under the bra and covered about two inches of her skin. The cleavage was decorated with white pearls.

“Do you like it?” she asked, feeling good about her choice.

“I love it, angel. But what did I tell you to call me?” Zane growled out and took a handful of her hair and pulled it downwards.

“Sorry, Sir. I won’t forget again, Sir,” Ava quickly corrected herself and scolded herself for forgetting so quickly.

“Good girl,” Zane told her and released her hair. He continued unbuttoning her shirt. Ava noticed he was working a little faster and tried not to smirk.
