His puppy?
"I should go before he kills me with his piercing gaze" I muttered, shaking my head to get rid of bad thoughts and rushing to the stairs. I was anxious as I finally reached the hallway which led either to the living room or the main entrance. I glanced to the left and saw Julia petting the little puppy. My smile doubled as I glanced to the stairs to see if the grumpy man was coming down but he was not hence I ran towards Julia and quickly went on my knees and snatched the puppy
"Aww...He's a cutie...just look at his fluffy brown fur" I said as I cradled it in my arms and rubbed it against my face and it licked my cheek which made me giggle. its fur was soft and silk. the color was like caramel, so beautiful, and smelled like fresh flowers
"Tell me...what happened to him...how did he get hurt"I asked as I raised the puppy in the air to see its injured paw and it stretched itself cutely that Julia and I laughed helplessly
"Well...he ran outside and sir ran over him by mistake...he spent a month with the vet but not he's back" she explained to me and I frowned guessing the grumpy man nearly killed his pet, how careless
"So sad...he's so cute...hey cutie I'm Vivienne but you can call me Vivie...I'm your new friend okay"I said as I hugged it in my arms and I was certain it loved licking a lot because he was licking my exposed arms which was wearing a spaghetti-strapped shirt, I giggled and sat down keeping it in my laps and played with its little soft ears without noticing the trouble I was in
"Umm Ms...aren't you supposed" while lost in my world of petting and adorable puppies. I heard Julia say more hesitantly and I shifted my eyes up not sure why she was bothering me but when I followed her gaze, I saw a shadow in suit pass by and headed for the door and immediately I sprung to my feet in alertness
"Here take him...oh no," I said handing Julia the puppy but she moved back shaking her head
"You take him...I'm was supposed to get him to the car since sir is taking him for a check-up as well...so since you are going with sir...take Tiny too"Julia beamed with a mischievous smile plastered on her face, did a little skip, and walked away leaving me standing there like a statue with a puppy in my arms
"Okay," I mumbled and turned to the exit hallway. I was damned to go with victor, I thought the grumpy man said I'd have my driver and once I got outside, the sun hit my face making me shield my eyes with my hand as I narrowed them to see a black car parked by the entrance door. The car windows were rolled down and I saw a figure sitting in the backseat and I knew it was Victor. He seemed busy on his phone hence I slowly made my way to the car, careful enough since I had the little thing in my arms. Once I reached the car a man dressed in white with a cap who I guessed was the driver rushed to the backseat and opened the door
"Good morning miss" he greeted me with a low bow which I returned and I was perplexed not sure why he was treating me like a big deal when I was just a worker like him
"Umm..I…"I started hesitating to get on board. Was I supposed to sit with Victor? He looked frightening
"Please Ms...proceed"the driver muttered gesturing with his hand for me to get in and I swallowed a hard lump on my throat as I innocently made my way to enter the car. It was a little hard but I managed to get in and settle down with the puppy still in my arms as soon as the door closed lightly. The puppy ran off my arms and went straight to victor. I watched from the sides and I guessed it knew him because it was doing the same thing it did with me. Stuck its tongue out, and it licked his hands and he played with its ears. A small smile tugged at my lips as I sat there feeling awkward
I shifted a little trying to keep a distance from the grumpy man but I found myself brushing my leg against his but he didn't seem to notice
"He's cute and pretty sir" I muttered pointing at his puppy snuggling to him. They looked cute together
"Hmm '' was the only thing he said and the driver's car started and left the mansion. Why was he so cold, such a grumpy man, would it hurt to say 'thank you Vivie' I scoffed in my heart as I averted my eyes from him and focussed on something else like my phone.
