Chapter42
"Bhabhi. Maan called. He said you aren't picking up his calls?" Aadesh asked, as he came
towards his sister in law in the kitchen.
"I think I left my phone in the bedroom. What is it, Aadesh? Did he say that when he was
starting?" Janani asked, as she placed the leftover food in the refrigerator.
"He started from the office. He said he will meet us directly at the jeweller's. Are you ready to
leave?" Aadesh asked
"Yes. Let me just go get my phone" Janani said and rushed up towards their bedroom.
She couldn't find her phone even after searching the whole room.
"Oh God! Where did I leave it?" Janani groaned out loud.
And that's when she remembered what happened in the morning.
She had gone to the study to call Armaan for breakfast before he left for the office.
And what happened in the study needn't be mentioned.
Her husband is insatiable.
And he simply didn't care where they were or what time it was.
If he wants her, he will have her no matter what.
Not that she complains, she thought with a blush adorning her cheeks.
"Stop thinking about that Janani. Go get your phone" Janani chided herself and hurried towards
the study.
She couldn't remember where she kept the phone. Armaan had snatched it from her, when she
was about to leave when she got a call from her mother.
She opened the drawers of his desk to see where he kept her phone.
In her hurry to leave, she pulled a drawer forcibly and it came out of its slot, spilling all its
content on the floor.
She hurriedly squatted down and started picking up all the contents.
One particular box caught her attention.
Because it had many unopened letters.
All with the same name.
Durga Ahuja!
She has never heard of that name before from Armaan.
Why does he have all those letters kept safe? Unopened.
Is someone stalking Armaan?
If yes, why didn't he let her know?
And if the woman is a stalker, why would Armaan have all the letters kept safe?
And the edges of each letter were tattered. The envelopes were all worn out. As though they
have been taken out and held many times.
Handled many times, but never opened.
What does that mean?
She couldn't understand.
Before she could ponder over the new name, Aadesh called out for her. She kept all the things
back and left for the jewellery.
As they reached the jewel shop, Armaan was already waiting for them outside
"Dada" Ava shrieked in joy and skipped towards her beloved father as soon as she spotted him.
Armaan scooped his daughter up in his arms and pressed a loud kiss on her chubby cheeks, all
the time his eyes never leaving Janani.
She was wearing a saree. And he loves it when she wears a saree.
She knows that he loves it and she often wears a saree.
She was draped in a pretty georgette saree, the shade of onion peel. She looked absolutely
gorgeous in it, with just the mangalsutra adorning her necks. She had paired it with a small
diamond studded earring.
The vermillion on her parting, simply made her look ethereal.
His heart picked up its pace as usual when she came near.
God! How much he loves this woman!
He couldn't even bear to think if destiny hadn't bought Janani into his life.
And he has to thank his late sister in law for that.
If not for Janani's troublesome twin, he might not even have met Janani.
He shuddered at that possibility.
"Armaan? Are you okay?" Janani asked, noting the sudden change in Armaan's face.
"Nothing, love. I am good. He fell asleep?" Armaan asked, seeing a sleeping Advi on Janani's
shoulder.
"Just now. He has been playing with Ava until five minutes ago" Janani said
"Well. It's good that he fell asleep. Or he wouldn't have let you shop in peace, demanding all
your attention to himself" Armaan said dryly
"Reminds me of someone I know," Richa said sarcastically from beside Janani, knowing very
well that Armaan is even more demanding than Advi, when it comes to Janani's attention.
"I think it is already time to marry you off. At least that way, you will stop tagging my wife
everywhere" Armaan said playfully.
Over the past few months, he formed a strong jeeju saali bond with Richa.
"Well, I will get married to someone here in Mumbai and will make sure that I will tag along with
your wife forever" Richa argued.
"Oh please. Don't start again you two" Janani said, rolling her eyes.
"Here bhabhi" Aadesh said, coming with Advi's buggy.
Janani gently placed a sleeping Advi into the buggy and Aadesh took the handles of it.
"Come, let's not waste the time" Armaan said and wrapped arm around Janani's waist as he
guided them all into the showroom.
"Mr Verma. It is such a pleasure to have you and your family here" the manager greeted as
soon as he spotted them.
"Thank you. We would like to see the latest gold and diamond collections, Mr Chawla" Armaan
said, noting the man's name on his Identity card.
"Sure. We have a new collection launched this week. I am your Mrs Verma would absolutely
love them. This way please, sir" the manager said and guided them to the VIP room, where they
would be given a private showcase of the jewels.
"What is the need for this. We could go there and check out all the jewels" Janani said,
disapproving of the partial treatment of VIP guests.
"Relax, Jaan. Just enjoy shopping" Armaan said, rubbing soothing circles on her back.
"Stop doing that" Janani hissed in his ears.
"Doing what?" Armaan asked with a smirk as he fingers started moving more sensuously
"What the hell are you doing? Aadesh and Richa are here. Ava too" Janani whispered furiously
"Addy and Richa are busy looking at the catalogues. And Ava darling is quite occupied with
counting the tiles." Armaan said as his fingers moved deftly through her exposed waist.
This is why he loves when she wears sarees. It makes her more accessible to him.
"Goodness, Armaan. Stop it. We just made love in the morning" Janani said, trying to get his
hands off her.
"It has been six long hours, Jaan" Armaan whispered huskily
Before she could respond to that, the manager returned with a few sales girls carrying jewel
cases with them.
The name Druga Ahuja momentarily forgotten!
