Dark Secret
**Trevor POV**
Damn my nerves.
I'd changed my wardrobe several times, from tailcoats to tunics, to gold-laced, well-embellished cloaks and robes. No matter the outfit, I could never convince myself to put on pantyhose. I laughed too much. Instead of Prince Charming, I would imagine Peter Pan. I know they both wear tights, but I can't help where my brain goes with this.
In the end, I chose to wear a simple tunic. Of course, it was still embroidered with the flag's tree, as is required in all Lutz's male royalty clothing. Purple velvet lining up the middle. Sophisticated but not too flashy. My Sweetness won't be able to resist! Sometimes I really was too much.
And then to turn her world upside down.
Be ready, Cupcake.
**Natalie POV**
Several papers scattered to the ground. My head was pounding horrendously, and Tylenol didn't exist here. Trevor had requested a portfolio on every new servant/ guard/ advisor to enter Lutz in the past five years. Several scribes were hired to interview and write down any information/interviews with colleagues as well.
For the past two weeks, Izzy and I would review those profiles together. Then we'd give our opinions and a summary on each one.
Izzy was focused entirely on the current pages in front of her. She really was working hard to help us. After training in our group, she would talk with Aileen. No one was ever allowed to join.
Meanwhile, Devon started his inner interrogations to find the traitor. His wife and Trevor were the only two he didn't question. One day I did ask him why not at least consider examining her. He would always answer the same way. 'If she had something important to add, she would. My wife and I do not keep secrets.'
*Is it right to tell him?* He loves them both so much, my nephews.
I lifted my head and noticed Izzy observing me. When our eyes met, she lowered her head and chuckled nervously.
"Izzy?"
She waved the portfolio on Sir Ellice in front of me, all scarlet-faced. Doodled in the corner were elementary school-like hearts and initials in the middle joined by a +. My little Izzy had a crush!
"It's been 3 hours, and I sort of started zoning off." She hid her face behind her long hair, peeking out. "I was just seeing if you were spacing yet. How are you still so immersed in the tedious paperwork? At least mine is. Nothings jumped out screaming crazed killer."
"We've got each other fooled. I was thinking about my brother." I laughed. And here I thought she was so focused on our task!
She batted her lashes, staring dreamily at the report on Sir Ellice. "If something is wrong with him, Sir Ellice could help. You saw him during training yesterday. He almost landed a blow on My Princess!"
"Only because you kept complimenting him. The good knight's ego grew 10xs that day, ya know. Yet, it isn't as massive as my true love's!"
"True, so what about Lord Devon has you distracted?"
Her desire to help was all over her pink-cheeked face. So I told her what's been boggling my mind.
"Those you love, is it wrong to keep a secret that would hurt them so deeply, it may not ever be repaired?"
She waited several minutes to answer, lost in thought. "I…I believe that…the painful truth is what binds us as people. It's the shared hurt we sympathize with those we cherish…sheltering someone you claim to love is cowardly and selfish…"
Under the table, Izzy pinched her side, then continued, "but if there's another party involved… I would talk to them first. It's Princess Aileen's truth, right? …Perhaps talk to her before training tomorrow?... I know you're weary of her. Outwardly she can be a porcupine, but I think she's a dolphin."
"My head can't get over all the mysteries surrounding her. It could be me overanalyzing the situation because of Shiuku though."
She bit her cheek to smother the dread trying to surface. Can't blame her. We all feared Shiuku for a reason.
"Maybe write a letter to Devon? Let out the secret that's bugging you since you can't speak with My Princess now. Then we rip it up and throw it away!"
While Izzy organized all the pages into piles, I took her advice.
*Dear Devon,*
*I know Aileen is your true love, and you love both those kids, but Shion's Father is Shiuku, not you. Maybe Aileen just feels guilty, and that's why she hasn't told you. She's been rubbing the heart and music note charms on that necklace a lot lately. There's a chance she was planning on telling you soon.*
*I love you, Shion, and Kalum, but you deserve to know the truth.*
Even as I wrote the words, my soul lifted. Izzy was right; talking to Aileen was the correct path. Devon deserved to hear the truth from her.
A knock sounded on our door. On the other side, Devon shouted that Prince Trevor requested to see me. Unsure if he was going to enter Izzy's room, I snatched up my letter and ripped it five times. I shoved some tissues and our empty snack trays over the pieces to ensure they wouldn't be found.
"You're amazing, Izzy. Ya know that."
"I just want to be known for the good I did."
Hopping to my feet, I reassured her she was amazing and that she was the reason I was still standing. Izzy nodded, thanked me, and ushered me out. Devon was waiting, and she had a session with Aileen soon. Giving her a quick squeeze around the shoulders, I left.
I was led through the Princess' wing to the very end. There was a door with a Cupcake engraved on the wood. On the door handle were my initials. I looked up at Devon, confused. Being a wonderful big brother, he shrugged, opened the door, and shoved me inside without further comment.
I forgot what I was about to yell at my dear brother as I surveyed the new room. No, not a room. A kitchen perfect for baking. Carved into a plank onto the wall was <3 Sweetness Natalie's Haven<3
A whistle brought my attention to a man sitting on a counter. Along with his chestnut hair, his outfit was covered in flour and water. A smudge of chocolate was in the corner of a wicked but oh-so-handsome smile plastered on my true love's face. Securely in his hands was a tray of slightly burnt cookies. My jaw dropped.
Crud, I was going to inflate his head bigger than a bobblehead!
As those words entered my mind, he tapped on his phone, 'People Are Crazy' began playing lightly in the background. Trevor set his tray down, walking up to me. He placed one arm around the small of my back and drew me close.
His intense gaze had me looking at my shoes, unsure how to respond. Lately, we were training or discussing the assassin each time we were together. By the time we reached the bed, we passed out. The killer had taken a step back to blend in more and plot. This started before the portfolios and interviews were begun, further proving there were traitors in our group.
Two fingertips slid under my chin, lifting me up to those gorgeous emeralds. "Don't. Right now, it's just my adorable Cupcake, your Tidalwave man, and Mr. Currington."
Darn him! I'd never been in this situation. What do I say? "I…ya know…darn it! You're drowning me in these weird waves!"
An eyebrow lifted, "pun intended, Sweetness?"
"No! I just… ya know…" I searched for words. "How are you even playing music?"
*Smooth… Mmph!*
Trevor gently brought his lips down to mine, cupping my cheek as his other rubbed my lower back. While swaying us to the happy beat, he led my two left feet thru my first dance with a man. This must have been the butterflies teenagers felt at prom. In this precious moment, I was the luckiest girl in either dimension.
We continued the sweet kiss for the rest of the song. When it ended, Trevor leaned back. Neither of us said anything and just enjoyed being with each other.
He smiled brightly as the next song began playing. Without warning, he outstretched his arm, pushing me away, and spun me back close. With the first chorus, Trevor increased the pace, twirling and dancing around the kitchen. I laughed when he maneuvered my front to his. I tilted my head backward and he pecked my forehead.
"So, go on, don't be shy now, tell me do I make you wanna?"
"I… you're too much, ya know!"
Trevor turned me back around, chuckling. "Come on, what proper gentleman wouldn't go through all the rubble in a destroyed secret base, just searching for an operational outlet? Then go through all the songs, he had to find the one his girlfriend loved singing? …Well, the answer is not many. Damn, did you get lucky, huh?"
Okay, so our first real date, and I'm just going to be mute. Alright, brain, thanks.
"This is where you say, 'yes, you are the absolute best! I'd give up a thousand men, no ten thousand men, to be with you for just one day!' Something like that."
Yup, still mute.
Trevor's mouth hovered inches above mine, teasingly. "Come on te- What the heck!"
My true love dashed for his phone as the beginnings of 'Part of Your World' played. He repeatedly pressed on the phone, only to be locked out. "That's my password! Dumb phone!" The song continued as the shame grew on his face.
"You really did love fairytales, didn't you?" I mean, it was downloaded on his phone either way.
Slumping his shoulders defeated, he looked away from me this time.. "I just… I'm a water elemental…so I was drawn to the fantasy of Mermaids is all! She lived in the water and was pretty."
"Was she your first crush?" I pouted my lips, finding more confidence the further we talked. Oh, the bubbles churning in my stomach were still there, but they felt exciting and warm, ya know, like bubbles in a hot tub…or something.
He still didn't meet my eyes. "Yeah, and she got her Happily Ever After and a family…she…was the only Disney Princess who had a child…a family… Anyway, let's change this to something-"
I blurted out, "I love you so much! Ya know, this is the man…I want."
He tackled me to the ground, shielding my body with his arms. He smashed his lips on mine, his tongue dueling with mine as he started unlacing the ties of my dress. The fevered kiss intensified as he frantically took off our clothes.
"I want you now, Sweetness." He threw my surcoat and brooch behind him, causing the tray of cookies to come crashing to the ground. Trevor ignored the sound and continued struggling with my outfit. "Damn this dimension. How many layers are you wearing?!"
Devon had selected my outfit today.
Just as Trevor was getting back to work on my clothes, another song from the movie began. We both froze, looking at the other, and lost it. Any leftover stress, or shyness between us vanished.
"Let's try again?" I suggested.
Trevor's forehead fell on top of mine as he began gasping for air. "I love you so much, Natalie. You're the only woman for me."
Amid our giggles, we slowly stripped each other out of our clothes with me atop him. Gingerly, I kissed a path down his neck to his bare chest. After several minutes of me exploring his body, he pulled me back up under him, mashing my breasts under his chest. Staring into my very being, Trevor wiped his weeping head at my entrance. "I missed you so much throughout the years, each time we met. You are mine, and I'm never letting you go again."
With those words, I felt his cock sliding into me. As he thrust into me, I felt his heart skyrocket against my bare skin. He kept pushing until he was buried to the hilt. I wrapped my legs tightly around him, needing him closer. Trevor guided himself slowly and deeply, letting me feel his throbbing length.
This was different from every time before. There was something more intimate than our previous times. Pleasure and love. I felt him everywhere, surrounding me.
"Oh, Trevor! I love it; I love you!" I moaned and cried. I was his, wholly.
Trevor pounded into my tight hole harder. I arched my back up as he picked up his speed. His fingers found the little nub between my legs at the same time he plunged inside of me hard. I bucked my hips, forcing him deeper. "Yes, such a good girl! Take every inch of my hard cock."
A powerful surge ran through my body at his dirty words. Our breathing became harsh as we both climbed the peak together. Suddenly my walls tightened around his shaft, convulsing painfully as I came. Trevor groaned as my orgasm triggered his.
.
.
.
We laid on the ground for a long while, stealing a few kisses and cuddling.
Sadly, reality was still waiting for us.
Trevor ran his hands down my back when a knock came on the door. We ignored it at first, but soon the pounding got louder. "Tch, I've gotta go. That has to be Jacob. Princess Lydia, Devon, and him must have found something. Wanna come?"
"No, I'll see you at training. I want to speak with Aileen for a bit while Devon isn't around."
Trevor grinned and bragged about how his new training tactic would work us into overdrive. "Of course, it'll be harder for you since I already worked that sexy body so hard today."
He left the room, giving me a quick hug. I had to glance around the kitchen he had built for me. It was perfect, and I couldn't wait to start baking here. I could surprise the girls of this wing with desserts! First, I would have to create something really delicious for Trevor. Maybe let him eat it off me… ya know to repay for the private kitchen!
At a leisurely pace, I made my way to Aileen's chambers. Two knocks on the door, and I heard her holler, 'come in .'Careful of the trip wire, I entered her room. It looked much sloppier from the last time I was here. Her bed was covered in books and documents. Crumpled-up papers were littered all over the floor, a strange long skin-colored wrap resembling a snap-on bracelet and lots of foundation make-up.
"I told you I was in the bath Izzy. I'll come get you when I'm finished." Aileen called from the closed door leading to the bathroom.
"It's Natalie."
A pause. "Don't touch anything! I'll be out soon."
I sat on her bed, listening to water sloshing as she raced to finish cleaning herself. She probably wouldn't be rushing around if she knew why I was here.
A stack of notes tipped off the bed. Crap. I got on my knees and gathered up the mixed-up papers. I glanced over the contents hoping to figure out the correct order the pages went in. The more I read, the more goosebumps crawled up my spine along with memories of citizens of Vernen we'd encountered over the last few weeks. This research…she wasn't helping her Father with paperwork or trying to find the assassin on her own…no.
In front of my eyes was research, experiments, and documentation on how to force a demon lord's mark onto unwilling humans without said demon lord being present.
The click of the bathroom door opening had me jumping backward. Princess Aileen emerged in only a towel and no make-up…
Atop her hand, up her wrist and arm, I saw it.
Shiuku's mark.
