Chapter 16

"Your Highness, the elders are here to see you" the guard said. He did not dare to raise his head up at all.

Bella was even more irritated than she was before.

"What are those old fogeys looking for me for?" Bella asked. She did not have the slightest respect for them.

"I do not know about that your highness" the guard said.


Bella sighed. She very well could not ignore the elders otherwise she would not have wasted he time going out to see them at all! But she had no other choice!

"Alright! I'll meet them in the hall" Bella finally agreed.

Bella and Lily were on their way to the hall to see the elders. Pierre was following behind them since he is Bella's beta now. However, he did not have much presence. He was just someone that could be ignored.

They passed by a few maids on thier way to the hall. The maids bowed thier head to greet them.

"Your highness" they called out in unison.

Bella was going to ignore them but she noticed that one of the younger maids wasn't bowing completely. In fact, the maid kept peeking at her face discreetly.

Bella smiled coldly. She was already in a bad mood. It seems that there is another person here who is giving herself up to be tortured!

She walked over to the maid. Bella lifted her face up with one hand. The maid was starting to shiver in fear now. She seems to have some something to annoy Bella.

"Your Highness…did I do something wrong?" The maid asked.

Bella suddenly burst out in a manical laugher. After a few moments of laughing like a mad woman to herself, she finally focused her eyes on the maid.

"You look down one me right?" She asked the maid directly.

The maid instantly fell on her knees. "No your highness! I dare not look down on you your highness!" The maid said. She was really scared now. Bella has always been known to be completely ruthless. She could very well lose her life in the hands of this woman!

"Oh? You don't look down on me? Does this mean that I'm lying then?" Bells asked. She was obviously trying to pick a fault with everything that the maid said.

The maid was crying now. "that's not what I meant your highness! I think that there's a mistake here! I will never dare to look down on you even if I had nine lives!" The maid said. She was so scared of Bella.

However, Bella wasn't planning to buy her explanation.

She clapped her hands twice. This was a sign. The guards that were sectetly protecting her in the palace immediately rushed out when they heard her clap.

"Take this maid away! Make sure that you torture her and teach her a lesson to never look down on me in her life again!" Bella said wickedly.

The maid felt her heart sink to her throat. She knew that she was ready. There is no way that she will be able to escape the torture chamber at all!

She crawled up to Bella and tried to hold on to her legs to beg her but a guard kicked her away ruthlessly. The maid could already feel her stomach curling up in pain from the kick but she did not give up.

Her life was more important than this plan! She got on her knees and crawled to Bella. But she did not dare to touch her again.

"No your highness! I'm really sorry! I didn't mean anything! I didn't mean anything by it at all! I didn't mean to disrespect you! I don't look down on you at all! Please forgive me! Please forgive me your highness!" The maid continued to beg pitifully.

All the other maids who were with her looked at her pitifully. She is one of the youngest maids in the palace and they really liked her. But they could not beg for her.

No one wanted to hand thier lives over to Bella. Begging for the maid's life would be the same as asking to be toutured with her!


Bella looked at the maid and snorted. To her, the life of such a lowly maid wasn't important at all! She can very well kill her and nothing would happen!

This is what she intended to do! Bella was angry that Nellie was able to get away from the trap that she set up for her. The rougues did not manage to kill her. Bella was still very upset at this and she wanted to take out her anger on the poor maid in front of her.

"Do you even know what you did wrong my dear?" Bella asked.

The maid looked up at Bella's face. She knew this was a trick question. No matter what she said, she will still end up offending Bella so she decided to keep quiet she just kept crying.

"See this?! You don't even know what you did wrong! Doesn't this just seem like I'm making use of my power to bully you? I don't want people to accuse me of being a tyrant!" Bella said.


No body said a word. But the truth was, everyone in the castle, excluding Pierre and Lily all thought that Bella is a tyrant. She is a devil! They did not suffer like this when Nellie was still the moon goddess of the pack!


"No…no…that's not it!" The maid continued to beg.


"You dared to look at my face when other people had thier head bowed. Were you thinking that I'm not fit to be the moon goddess? Do you think that the former moon goddess Nellie is better than I am?" Bella asked.

The maid was so scared that she immediately fell face down. She was kneeling with her face kissing the ground.

"No! I do not dare to think such things your highness! I don't dare at all! Nellie is a witch who was chased away!" The maid begged.

She had heard some rumours that the new moon goddess really hated the former moon goddess but she didn't know how true this was before this. She finally figured it out for herself.

She really hates the former moon goddess! So much so that she doesn't want to hear anything that has to do with hwrN however, she really did not say anything about the former moon goddess. She just wanted to take a few more glances at her face!

"You keep saying that you don't dare but you already dared to do it. Alright, I don't want to hear anymore nonsense from you! Take her away and make sure that you torture her until she knows the rules!" Bella said.
They all knew they whoever went into that hellish place won't be coming out alive anymore.

The maid cried and begged and even kicked. Her pitiful state even elicted some sympathy from the guards but they could it help her.

If they did, they would be the ones to die in her place. They didn't want to gamble with thier lives.

The maid was dragged away. Lily and Bella just watched on coldly.

Pierre was shivering where he stood. Even he felt that Bella seemed to have gone a bit too far this time!

"You see that? That will be the fate of anyone who dares to question my authority as the new moon goddess of this pack! I have all the power now! Your lives are like ants in my hands and I can totally crush you people anyhow I want! If you know what's good for you then you had better not dare to cross me! I Bella am the moon goddess. And I rule this pack!" Bells declared.

She continued on her way, with Lily and Pierre following between them.

Bella sat at the head of the hall looking at all the elders who were looking at her with judgemental eyes. She did not care about what these people thought of her though. She believed that she will be able to find a way to supress all of them soon.

She is the one who rules now and no one should question her power or what she does with it!.

"So, I heard that you people wanted to see me? What do you want to see me for?" Bella asked rudely.

The elders could not keep the displeasure and anger that they were feeling out of thier face. They were really angry. Even if Bella is now the moon goddess they were the ones who have her the position. She should at least show some courtesy to them!

Some of them could not help but compare Bella in thier minds. Even though Nellie was the moon goddess, she did not look down on them. She treated all of them with respect!

If only Nellie wasn't a witch, she would be the perfect moon goddess for the pack.

Elder Peter was the first person to speak up. "Your Highness, we have heard some complaints about how you are ruling the pack and the castle. Even if you are the moon goodness, you can't treat everyone like this!" He said.

All the other elders voiced tgier agreement.

Bella waited for all of them to finish talking before she sneered at them. "You already said that I am the moon goddess now. Since when do I need the permission of anyone of you before I do what I want to do? I rule the pack and I will do whatever I want! You people don't get to tell me what to do!" Bella yelled. She hated it the most when her authority was challenged.

And these people are challenging her authority right now!

"You…! We are the ones who made you the moon goddess! You can't act like this your highness! Just now, report reached us that you asked for a maid to be tortured for no good reason! How can you do that?" Another female elder Ann said. She was heaving up and down in anger.


Bella snorted when she heard this. "it's just a maid. I don't see why I can't punish a maid who dared to disrespect me! You guys had better remember this! Nellie is no longer around! I am the moon goodess and everyone is will to listen to me! I will do whatever I want with the pack! No one and I mean no one is allowed to challenge my authority or they will suffer the same fate as the maid!" Bella said.

The elders looked at each other and no one dared to say anything else. They kept quiet.

Bella looked at them smugly. It seems that she has successfully scared them. She will not be like Nellie who let them do whatever they want. She will rule them with a iron fist and let them know what she is the one in charge


"Is there anything else that you want to talk to me about? Or else I'm going to leave now!" Bella asked

"That is not all we came here for your Highness. We have heard reports that there are some rougues lingering around our pack! What do you plan to do about it!?" Another Elder asked.

Bella's heart skipped a beat when she heard this. No one knew that there are some rougues who are under her control and who only listen to her. Lily is the only person who knows this!

If these people know that she has an army of rougues then….


She rasied her face up and looked at them. "So what if they are a gre rougues? What those that have to do with us?" Bella asked.


Someone among the elders mumbled, "Nellie would know how to deal with this!"

Bella's sharp ears allowed her to pick up those words.

Her eyes turned cold immediately. "What did you say?" She asked coldly. Everyone knows that she has a deep rooted hatred for Nellie.

How dare they mention Nellie in front of her?
