Chapter 9

I Can Save Her

Earl's heart skipped two beats. He got up immediately. "What did you say?" He asked the guard. He had a stern look on his face. The guard could not help but stutter when he was how angry Earl looked.

"Your highness, we've searched everywhere in the castle but we can't find Nellie" the guard replied. He felt horrible that he had to be the one to deliver the news. The pressure emanating from Earl was enough to suffocate anyone.

"How can she be missing?!!" Earl roared. His biggest fear was that she might have been taken by those rogues! He could not accept it! He could not accept that the Luna he saved was taken by those rogues! Besides , he still has a use for her. She is the most important key part of his plan to get Ina and Tony!

There was another reason Earl was so worried about Nellie but he did not want to think about it.

The guard was shaking now. He really could not bear the oppression aura coming from Earl. Besides Ina, he has never seen the leader so worried about anyone else before!

"Your Highness, we went to check up on her as you said this morning. But we haven't been able to find her anywhere in the castle! She isn't here!" The guard said.

"Get out! All of you are just a bunch of useless fools! Get Charlie to come in here right now !" Earl yelled.

The guard bowed and immediately left to carry out the orders.

Nellie walked on the grounds of the castle while looking around. She was really impressed by how big this place is. She used to be the moon goddess of her pack but even her castle wasn't this big and magnificent.

She could not help but admire the man who could build such a big and magnificent castle and be in charge of it.

If not for the fact that he's too arrogant , he could be said to be perfect.

Nellie shook her head mentally. She didn't want to have any thoughts about that wolf at all!

She continued to stroll the grounds of the castle while looking at the exquisite building and decoration of the castle.

She smiled as she walked. Ever since she was betrayed by Bella and lost her position as the moon goddess of her pack this is the first time that she has been so free.

She saw some maids upfront talking.

Nellie wasn't going to pay attention to them but when she heard her name she stopped.

"Hey,.do you know that ma'am Dodda is still unconscious?" One of the maids asked.

"She's still unconscious? Ma'am Dodda is the one who raised His Highness! He doesn't let anyone talk about her at all, not even his mate Ina when she was still here! What happened to her?".another maid asked. She looked like she was itching for some gossip.

"Well, I heard that she was stabbed when His Highness saved that wolf!" The first one said,

"What?! His Highness saved a wolf?" The second maid asked..


"Yes. When he came back from chasing Ina, she was with him! I saw her yesterday!" The maid said.

"Wow! This is big! Since when has his Highness been so kind to anyone else? Ma'am Dodda even got hurt because of her!"

Nellie was stunned where she stood. Ma'am Dodda? She felt a sharp pang in her heart . It's true that she was stabbed when Earl was trying to save her.

Nellie felt that she had to do something for the woman. She can't let anything happen to her. After all, she is the reason why she got hurt.

She has to do everything that she can to save her.

She walked over to the maids. The maids were stunned when they saw her coming. The both of them wanted to walk away as quickly as possible. After all, they had been caught talking about her

However, Nellie stopped them.

"Don't run away! I have something to ask you!" Nellie said.

The maids turned to face her. They bowed their heads, not daring to look into her face. She is the guest of the leader of their pack after all.

"I heard you guys talking about ma'am Dodda. What is her condition like right now? Where is she?" Nellie asked urgently.

One of the maids spoke up . "Milady ma'am Dodda is in the Chambers of the healer. As for her condition, she is still unconscious. Besides that, I don't know how she's doing Milady '' the maid said respectfully.

Nellie pursed her lips. This happened because of her so she has to help out no matter what.

"Where is she right now? Take me to her!" Because she was worried, Nellie's words sounded tough.

The maids did not far to disobey. They immediately agreed to bring her to Ma'am Dodda.

"Come this way Milady" one of the maids said leading the way.

Nellie stood in the chambers of the healer looking at the pale face of the ma'am Dodda who was lying motionlessly on the bed

Nellie felt bad. She is the one who got ma'am Dodda into this in the first place. If she had not chosen to trust the wrong person, if she was not framed by Bella and ended up losing the position of the moon goddess, maybe this would not have happened! It is all because she ended up falling into the hands of the rogues! Ma'am Dodda is in this situation now because she wanted to save her life! She has to help her.

"Healer, what is ma'am Dodda's condition right now?" Nellie asked.

The healer looked at the pale looking middle aged woman that was lying on the bed and shook his head.

"Shs has lost a lot of blood and she is already old. Her condition is really critical right now! I don't think that she will be able to pull through this for long! If she doesn't get better today then I'm afraid…." The healer did not finish his words. But Nellie knew very well what he meant. She felt her heart sink to her stomach.

Nothing can happen to ma'am Dodda! She can't die because of her!

"Is there really no way that we can save her?" Nellie asked..

"I've done my best. I've done everything that I can and I've not been able to save her up till now. Since she's already old, her body isn't as strong as it was in the past plus she lost a whole lot of blood when she was stabbed" The healer said while shaking his head.


"I can save her!" Nellie said. Her voice was agitated.

The healer looked at Nellie. Obvious disdain was present in his eyes. He has not been able to do anything for ma'am Dodda and this young wolf here thinks that she will be able to save her? As far as she is concerned, she won't be able to save her at all!

What was the leader thinking bringing this person back to the pack?

"Will you be able to save her? How can you do that?" The healer said with a sneer on her face.

Nellie wasn't annoyed that she was looking down on her.


"I assure you that I can save her! I can make some medicine as long as I have the leaves!" Nellie said confidently.

She remembered that once an elder of their pack had been stabbed by a rogue. She was the one who made the medicine to save his life with a leave. She was sure that she would be able to do it again.

"Please don't cause any more trouble here! Since you can't do anything for ma'am Dodda even though she got hurt because of you, at least don't make her condition even worse!" The healer said.

"But I can really save her!"Nellie said. She was starting to get worked up. Why can't she believe her?

"What?! What do you mean Nellie is missing?" Charlie asked. He was stunned when the leader called him back to the room just a few minutes after he dismissed him.

When he came here, he dropped a bomb on him, telling him that Nellie is gone!

"How can she be gone? What happened to your highness?" Charlie asked.

"I don't know! She told me yesterday that the rogues had tried to kill her! I feared that they might have gotten to her here!" Earl said.

Charlie shook his head. "I don't think that is possible, your highness! After your incident and Ina's betrayal, we have doubled the security. There is no way that a rogue will be able to get in here !" Charlie said confidently. He was the one who chose the guards. He can't risk anything happening to the leader again!

"Then what could have happened? Where is she in the castle?" Earl asked.

"I think that we should keep looking for her? Have you asked the guards to look, your highness?" Charlie asked.

"I told the guards to keep an eye out for her and bring me anyone who knows anything about her!" Earl said.

"I'm sure that we will get an update on her soon, your highness!" Charlie said.

"I can't have anything happen to her at all! She can't be hurt in any way!" Earl suddenly said. His face was so dark, showing how angry he was.

Charlie looked at Earl's face. He had a feeling that Earl was worrying about this moon goddess much more than was necessary

"Permit me to ask your highness but you seem to be really worried about this moon goddess," Charlie said.

Earl looked at Charlie, not getting what he meant. "of course I'm worried about her. She is a vital part of our plan. We can't let anything happen to her at all!" Earl said. He was sure that this is the only reason he was worried about her.

Because he intended to use her to draw out Ina and Tony from whichever hole they were hiding in right now.

Charlie looked at Earl. The last time he had seen him so worried about someone was with Ina. He felt like there was more to this, but since His Highness keeps saying that it's because she is a vital part of his plan, he had to keep his mouth shut and not interfere.

Just then, a guard knocked on the door.

"Come in," Earl said.

"Your highness!" The guard called out.

"Go on. Did you find her?" Earl asked.

"I found two maids, your highness! They seem to know about Nellie's whereabouts!" The guards said.

Earl was alarmed? "What? Bring them in right now!" Earl said.

Another guard led in two maids. They were the maids who were talking earlier and who took Nellie to the healer's chamber.

"Your Highness!" The maids greeted in fear. As ordinary maids, they weren't even allowed to see the leader of the pack normally. They were scared now that they had to report to him.


"You said that you saw Nellie? Where did you see her?" Earl asked. He did not realize that he sounded so nervous right now.

"Your highness, we met Nellie earlier. She was asking about…asking about ma'am Dodda she asked us to take her to Ma'am Dodda. We led her there and left! That is all we know of your highness!" The maids said.

Earl waved his hands. "You all can go now," he said.

He could not believe that he was so worried for nothing. He thought that she was taken away by the rogues. He was really worried about her when he remembered how scared she had been yesterday. He had been worried for nothing after all. She just went to look for ma'am Dodda.

"Why do you think she went to ma'am Dodda, your highness?" Charlie asked.

Earl remembered that Nellie told him yesterday that she has the power to make medicine from leaves.

Could it be that..she wants to save ma'am Dodda?
