Chapter 8

This afternoon Claude asked Lucien to come to his study to discuss his main task. This was her second day joining the group and it didn't take long for her to get the assignment.

"Master Claude, I'm coming in!" He said as he pulled the door knob.

"Come in!" Claude answered from inside his study. Claude was not alone, there were already 11 other people in the room including Jonathan and two of them were women.

Lucien walked in and stopped right in front of Claude and Jonathan. Jonathan looked at him with a disdainful smile. He was the Captain of a team of five and became one of the best jockeys that Supernova Revenge had.

"Welcome home, Lucien! I'm glad it didn't take long for you to take up your first assignment here. You know Jonathan, right? He's the Captain of team five in the gambling division. I know being called captain sounds too nice, but we have special standards even though our business seems dark and mostly illegal."

"I will be his underling?" Asked Lucien who immediately focused on the point.

"Do you mind, Lucky?" Jonathan said following how Claude called him.

"Absolutely not!"

"Tsk, really?"

"Jonathan will be your boss and all of them here are your teammates. Supernova Revenge owns five casinos and two of them are located in Las Vegas. In the gambling business, we have 10 teams and Jonathan's team of 10 is one of the groups." the best we have. They have great skills and every five games they play, three of them are won and so far the highest record is still held by Jonathan who has held 100 games and 90 of them he has won for his clients and also for our casino ."

"Don't I sound great?" Jonathan chirped proud of himself.

"It's the only thing you can do, Jo. So don't be so proud, man!"

"Hey Kevin. You can say that if you beat my record!"

"I have absolutely no interest in that!"

"May I continue?" Claude said.

"Yes, Sir!"

"Besides Jonathan, these are Sebastian, Kevin, Hans, Richard, Paris, the beauties Madison and Chloe, Jim and Harry.  There are three more members currently carrying out their duties, Galiard, Keith and Jennifer."

"One more person? Shouldn't there be 15 of them?"

"Adam has completed his mission, he is in hell now!" Kevin said.

One of their comrades had disappeared after Lucifer picked him up because his assignment had ended. Lucien wondered how that person would leave once their main mission was accomplished?

"Sooner or later every member will complete their main mission of being revived. Adam just left a week ago and I saw how his body slowly turned to fire and disappeared. He didn't say anything, but he looked peaceful." Madison said. This woman looks very sad as if she has a very close relationship with Adam.

Chloe patted Madison's shoulder to calm her down, she wanted Madison to quickly forget about Adam and get back to focusing on their duties.

"Lucien, have you thought about a new name you will use in your duties from now on?"

"Levi, my name is Levi."

"Levi, huh? Well, from now on you have to show the humans that you are no longer Lucien Sanders and you should try to forget that name because Lucien Sanders has died and the one alive today is Levi. It doesn't matter if you want to be Lucien among your comrades. -Your comrades. But don't let your life affect you in carrying out your mission. Remember, the longer your revenge mission lasts, the more you will increase your potential as a complete devil."

"What if the revenge mission still hasn't been completed even though decades have passed?"

"I'm only five years into my new life as a half-demon and this is my second year as an Alpha. But Jayden, he's by far the longest serving member, he's been here for 15 years and to this day he still hasn't found the whereabouts of the person who killed his wife. and her two children."

"His family was killed? What about him? How could he die?"

"He died in an accident while trying to demand justice for the death of his wife and two children. Jayden is a former soldier who served as a guard at the border for many years. But when he received news that his wife and two children were found trapped dead in a car that sank in a the lake. The police called it a suicide and murder committed by his wife and two children, but Jayden insisted that what happened to his wife and two children was premeditated murder. Three days before being reported missing, Jayden's wife sent a voicemail saying that he is often followed by mysterious people. Jayden believes that the mysterious people his wife says are the perpetrators of the murders of his wife and children."

"What a poor man. I can't imagine how devastated the Commander must have felt." he said.

Seeing how Jayden's expression and reaction when he met him made Lucien understand a little why he looked so hateful to someone he thought would rival his strength. It was because he wanted to quickly find his family's killers and avenge their deaths.
