Chapter 35
Emily's POV
"Christian! I don't want you sliding on the banisters!" I yelled after my energetic five year-old.
"Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee," he sang as he slid down, disobediently, right into his father's arms at the end of the stairs.
"Hey son."
"Hey Daddy."
"Dismount the banister," he told him as he help him off. "Your mom and I don't want you sliding on it because you can really hurt yourself one day. Okay?"
"Okay Saddy. Sorry Mommy." His grey and hazel eyes looked up apologetically at me.
"Good, now let's get you to breakfast." I took his tiny hand and led him to the breakfast table where his grandfather was waiting for us.
"Grandpa!" he shouted and ran into his grandfather's arms, who was always excited to have him around.
Christian was a fearless child with a side of adventure to him. He always wanted to go hiking and/or personal trips with his father and I. It broke our hearts on one occasion when we had to go to England for two days but he couldn't.
As I sat down to have my pancakes, I felt like I was going to be sick. I got up and walked out of the room as quickly as I could, covering my mouth.
"Your Majesty, are you alright?" several maids asked as I walked past them on the way to the bathroom.
"Emily, are you in there?" Sebastian knocked on the bathroom door while I vomited.
I left the bathroom and walked into his arms.
"Babe, are you sick? Can I get you anything?" He was looking at me with sadness in his eyes.
"I'm fine. I'll be upstairs in bed. I lost my appetite for breakfast."
I had an extra pregnancy test in our bathroom cabinet. My heart raced as I tore the paper off and stared at the stick. I took several deep breaths and asked myself if this was really happening again. Sebastian and I were doing just what married couples do, and more. I smiled to myself as I remembered how he positioned me two nights ago against the couch. I was so eager to have him inside of me. He had been gone for a week to Italy for a royal retreat and I jumped onto him the moment he walked through the door, but we had so many other encounters before that.
"Here goes." I peed on the stick and waited for the results.
After a couple minutes, I opened my eyes and looked down at the stick on the counter top.

"Baby, I bought you some fruit," Sebastian said when he came into the bedroom and found me sitting outside on the balcony, enjoying the fresh air— it was doing wonders for my sickness.
"I have something to tell you," I told him.
He sat next to me. "What's that?"
"We're going to have another baby. I'm pregnant." I waited for his reaction.
After it had sunk into his head that we were going to have another child, he sprung up and pulled me into his arms. "Really, are you sure? Did you take a test?"
"Yes, I did." I took the test out of my pocket and showed him the positive results.
"I'm so happy. You're making me the happiest man on earth."
His lips met mine, and no matter how many times he kissed me, the electricity never faded from his touches. I ran my fingers through his hair and felt his muscular arms underneath my butt, scooping me up like ice cream from a pint. He carried me into the bedroom and set me onto the bed.
"Thank you, for everything you've done and continue to do."
I smiled at his words.
*KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK*
"Daddy! Mommy!" we heard Christian's voice calling from outside the door.
Sebastian went to let him in and he came bouncing through bedroom until he got to my side.
"Mommy, are you sick?"
"Mommy will be fine but she has something to tell you. How would you feel about having a baby brother or sister?" I asked.
He pouted.
"You wouldn't like to be a big brother?" Sebastian asked.
"Yes, but then I won't be your baby anymore," Christian answered and his frown deepened.
"Of course you'll still be our baby, but there comes a time when you'll grow up. Very big and handsome," I assured him.
"Like Daddy?" His frown turned into a wide smile.
"Yes, just like me," his father assured him and raised him into the air before spinning him around, making him laugh with joy and delight.
"I want to be a big brother! When will the baby come? Tomorrow?"
I couldn't help but to laugh. "No baby, the baby needs to grow inside my tummy first, and that will take some time, but he or she will be here very soon, okay?"
"Okay. I love you Mommy and Daddy." He threw his tiny arms around our necks.
"We love you so much more," Sebastian and I responded in unison.
The remainder of the day I spent in my bedroom eating fruit and watching comedies on the television. Fruits were the only form of food I was keeping down, for now. I had called my parents and friends to tell them the exciting news, and Sebastian had scheduled a doctor's appointment first thing in the morning.
Sebastian's father was over the moon about the announcement of baby number two. He once said he wanted a castle of grandchildren, running and screaming through the lawns outside but Christian was enough. Now this little one would be added to the mix.
I could just picture Christian bossing him or her around and showing them all of his tricks and getting into trouble, and me yelling after them to get off the banisters before they hurt themselves.
_____
A couple months later Sebastian took me to the doctor's office for a follow up, we were meeting with a new doctor as the other had recently retired. I was waiting in a private room and a beautiful woman, around my age and height, walked into the room with a bright smile on her face.
"Good morning, Prince and Princess Fabian. I'm Dr. Thompson. I'll be conducting your ultrasound today and I'll be your doctor throughout your pregnancy, if that's fine with you."
"Of course." I liked her and I felt like she was going to make the perfect doctor.
I followed her instructions for her to conduct the ultrasound. After a minute or so, the monitor came to life and an image was shown to us.
"Aww, there's the baby," Dr. Thompson said and as the three of us looked on.
The baby grew another head.
A two-headed baby?! What in the world?!
"Why does my baby has two heads? Am I even making a baby or an alien?" I was already panicking.
Sebastian rested a hand on my shoulder.
"Princess Fabian, please calm down. I'm certain it's not what you're thinking."
As she inspected closer, it was obvious as to why. "Congratulations, you're having twins. There's the other baby now."
She was correct and my jaw dropped when the other baby came into view. He, or she, was hiding behind the other and I wondered if that was how Evan and I were inside of Mom.
"I can't believe this. We're having twins," I said as tears of happiness filled my eyes.
Sebastian comforted me with a kiss to the cheeks and Dr. Thompson filled out my morning sickness pills and supplements to help boost my appetite so I could eat as I should. Having healthy babies was very important.
_________
A few weeks later, I was searching the entire castle for Sebastian and Christian. It was late evening and I wanted to be cuddled up in an armchair with them by my side. I walked through the double doors to the grand hall and put on the lights, and as I did...
"SURPRISEEEE!!" a crowd yelled.
"You all need to stop doing that," I joked as my family and friends surrounded me with loads and loads of presents. They planned an entire baby shower without me knowing a thing about it.
Sebastian pulled me into his arms and the crowd went silent when he cleared his throat and lifted his glass of champagne. "To the most beautiful, most caring, most loving wife and mother. Christian, your family and friends, and myself, we love you, and I'm certain that the twins love you just the same.
"When I said you've made the happiest I've ever been, I meant every word. I'm so in love with you." He toasted and everyone cheered and clapped.
Our lips met and the electricity was even brighter.
I finally had the family I always wanted.
