Chapter 21
He silenced her unfinished words with a forceful kiss, biting her lip and almost suffocating her. "I know I'm no different from any other man, so what brings us together is not just a physical relationship. But any man who dares to touch you, I will tear his body apart and make him bleed dry." He gently licked away the bloodstain on her lip, his sinister smile showing through his bright green eyes. "Since I have claimed the opportunity for you to be with anyone else, you don't mind using me, this despicable man, to enjoy the so-called physical pleasure, right?"
He sealed her lips again, lifting her slender leg with one hand and hooking it around his waist, trapping her between the window frame and his well-built body. He was familiar with every sensitive spot on her body, easily igniting fireworks without messing up her clothes, causing her breath to gradually become erratic...
She, as always, neither resisted nor made a sound. His embrace was never about relieving desire, but about cherishing. At this moment, he was still gentle, but he had lost that sense of treasuring, leaving only a vent for his hatred.
She almost wanted to laugh. What right did he have to be angry with her? Did he think he was the only one in pain? He saw through her attempts to pretend not to care, yet he was foolish enough to be angry at her pretense, without thinking about the hidden tremors beneath her disguise.
When his kisses left her lips and traveled down her soft neck, she could no longer bear this torment disguised in sweetness and weakly murmured, "Stop..." She knew her protest would not be effective, his stubborn character would not stop because of her request, but she still said it.
But he heard it, and all his actions instantly froze. He wrapped his hands around her waist, burying his face in her chest, his heavy breathing gradually calming down.
After a while, he lifted his face, no longer a trace of anger in his emerald eyes, but also losing the usual playful and gentle smile. He stared at her, as if he had something to say, but in the end, he didn't say anything, just picked up one of her shoulder straps with his finger.
"If you want to accompany me tomorrow night, you have to wear this outfit."
... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...
That was the last thing he said to her, then he left the room without speaking to her again.
For the first time, Emil did not embrace her to sleep.
In the early morning, he got into bed and took his place at one end, she listened to his even breathing and quickly fell into a deep sleep. But she, who usually fell asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow, stared at the faint sunlight on the curtains, unable to sleep.
Late at night, Sarah stood in front of the mirror, still wearing the dress he had given her, hesitating about how to bring up the party with him. Suddenly, a pair of hands rested on her shoulders, draping a shawl over her.
She looked up and gazed at Emil in the mirror.
He had changed into a pure black formal suit, without a tie. His expression was indifferent, still not speaking, holding her delicate hand, he led her out of the basement.
The thick pine road had designed underground tunnels, connecting each room so they could communicate. They walked along the tunnel and arrived at the basement of Anise Manor, where Alexander stood in a white robe, already waiting in front of a door, accompanied by the child-like earth spirit.
Surprised that Sarah had come too, Alexander hesitated, "Why did you bring her?"
Emil shrugged, "She wants to see the Fairy Queen, so I brought her."
"But the Delaney family..." Alexander wanted to say something, but he looked at Sarah and refrained from speaking.
"If it's inconvenient, I won't go." Sarah tactfully broke free from Emil's grasp.
But Emil immediately tightened his grip on her shoulder, not allowing her to leave. "If she can't go, then I won't go." Tonight's protagonist was him, and Alexander was only the guardian. If he didn't go, Alexander couldn't handle that responsibility.
After a moment of hesitation, Alexander finally stopped objecting and looked deeply at Emil. "I hope you know what you're doing." He glanced sympathetically at Sarah and said to the little boy, "Qinglian, open the door."
Not wanting to trouble Alexander, Sarah softly said, "I'm just curious, it's okay if I don't go."
Emil's response was to tighten his grip on her shoulder, silently rejecting her. He looked straight ahead at the slowly opening door, not looking at her once.
Was the cold war going to continue? Sarah sighed lightly, following him into the room.
As soon as she stepped into the room, the noise hit her. She immediately realized that she was no longer in the human world, but in a space constructed by magic - a huge white circular arena.
The arena was crowded with all kinds of fairies, tall and short, beautiful and ugly, each with a different appearance. Some looked like humans, some like sixteen-legged giant spiders, and some were round balls of fur rolling around, with only one eye visible.
Some fairies shouted and sold their wares, a few petite fairies were busy preparing food at the tables, three-meter-tall giant fairies were busy distributing drinks, green-haired fairies in the corner played the seven-stringed zither and sang, accompanying the beautiful dancing fairies; in the water pool, mermaid-like fairies swam gracefully, but there were more than a dozen fairies fighting and causing a ruckus, knocking down other fairies. Some fairies casually avoided them, while others, with a bad temper, joined the fight, making the chaos worse.
In the air, winged fairies flew back and forth, busy adjusting the hanging ribbons and sprinkling colorful bubbles. Music, noise, and vibrant colors filled the air, like a grand carnival.
Sarah had never seen so many fairies before and was fascinated, looking around. Fairies were a collective term because humans occupied the surface world, and other creatures could only live underground. The powerful races were not afraid of being bullied by other races, but the weaker groups had to unite and combine their strength to resist the larger tribes. This united tribe was collectively called fairies. Fairies were mostly skilled in craftsmanship and loved lively gatherings, so it was strange for them to be quiet and calm.
There were not many representatives from the underground tribes. The Okaites always appeared in black cloaks, and wherever they went, the fairies automatically made way for them. The reclusive Dragon tribe only had two representatives, standing silently in a corner, while two fairies fought and scratched at their feet, but they ignored them. There were about a dozen humans attending, and she recognized some of the Nine Jade Guild's sorcerers, even the guild leader came, but compared to the abundance of fairies, they were like a drop in the ocean.
As soon as they entered the venue, it was as if a spotlight was shining on them, and all eyes turned towards them.
