Chapter 33

Even though she had just seen it with her own eyes, Ivy still refused to believe it. Holding Sarah's hands, she asked, "This isn't real, right, sister? You were just humoring him, weren't you?"

Emil sneered sarcastically, "That's right, we weren't kissing just now; we were practicing artificial respiration."

Sarah ignored him, "What did the maid say?"

"Aunt didn't express any opinion, so those who oppose you don't dare to insist on replacing you. I believe Aunt trusts you! She also said that the only person who can help you now is her!"

Ivy glared angrily at the sneering Emil and tightened her grip on her trump card. She had to time it right to subdue this villain in one fell swoop and free her sister Sarah from his control!

"She said nothing?" Sarah was surprised. Her foster mother had spoken so decisively that she thought she would take tougher measures. Why such a laissez-faire attitude?

"So, let's go back now! Once we reunite with Aunt and the others, we can deal with him. This way, those who oppose you will have nothing to say!"

"Enough, visiting time is over," Emil domineeringly pulled Sarah over and waved them off. "It's still work hours; my people can't spend too much time on you. Please leave."

"Your people? My sister has nothing to do with you!" Ivy grabbed Sarah's hand and angrily said, "Do you know how much trouble you've caused her? The longer she stays here, the more people will misunderstand her. If you want to frame her, it's not that simple!"

"I'm sparing you for Sarah's sake, don't push your luck." Emil's face grew darker.

She wouldn't respond to his feelings because she knew the clan would forgive her and give her a way out. She could still return to them? His efforts couldn't compare to blood ties... Was he really being too demanding?

"You're the one pushing your luck! My sister—"

"Enough, Ivy." Sarah didn't want her cousin to argue with him any more. Holding her hand, she gently shook her head, "You should go home first. I need to stay."

Ivy was stunned, "Why?"

"I... have things to handle. Don't ask, just listen to me and go back."

Ivy stared at her troubled expression. The Sarah she knew was sensible and decisive, but now she was dragging her feet, constantly avoiding the issue...

It was all because of this man's influence, right? She had to get rid of him so that her sister Sarah could be free!

She tightened her grip on her last trump card, still holding Sarah's hand, and insisted, "I promised Aunt that I would take you back tonight!"

"The maid herself couldn't do it, and you think you can?" Emil lost his patience. Though his body was weakening, dealing with this little girl was still easy. He pushed Sarah aside and reached for Ivy, "If you want to take her back, just try!"

Now!

Ivy pointed her index and middle fingers at him, a thin silver light shooting out from between them. It transformed into a giant net, covering him.

"Emil!" Sarah exclaimed.

"If you had let my sister go back, I wouldn't have used this against you." One end of the silver net was connected to Ivy's hand. Emil staggered back a few steps and fell to his knees.

"To break this spell, unless I willingly undo it, you can only rely on yourself to escape or kill me. But the maid used silver water to draw this charm, so you absolutely can't break free—"

Her endless words stopped as she saw Sarah step forward to support Emil, trying to undo the spell binding him.

After confirming that the silver net was beyond her ability to undo, she turned back, her gaze piercing straight at Ivy.

That look made Ivy shudder. She couldn't determine what her cousin intended to do. Did she want to save Emil? But her cousin should know very well that she wouldn't agree to undo the spell, and Emil clearly couldn't break free on his own. Could it be...

Seeing Sarah walk towards her without hesitation, Ivy felt fear for the first time. Her fingers loosened, and the silver thread fell. She stammered, "Sister?" Did her sister want to kill her?

Sarah stopped in front of her, bent down to pick up the silver thread at her feet, and placed it back in her hand.

Seeing her cousin's fearful and astonished expression, she smiled gently, just as she did when correcting her mistakes during spell practice, and softly corrected her—

"When casting a spell, you must ensure a firm grasp of it, or you'll leave yourself vulnerable, understand?"

Sister... she was still on their Delin family's side!

Ivy was overjoyed and hugged Sarah tightly.

Emil listened to the sisters talk without moving, letting the intertwined silver threads bind his body, the pain piercing his flesh and his heart.

...

Emil was taken back to the Delin family's mountain residence. Sarah completed her ancestral mission, and the news quickly spread throughout the clan.

In the middle of the night, everyone came to watch, seeing the maid personally come out to greet her foster daughter and watching them put Emil into a prepared small house before walking out together. Everyone had many questions, but Olsen remained silent, and Sarah said nothing. Her expression was solemn, and her demeanor naturally exuded an air of authority, preventing anyone from daring to ask her anything. They respectfully watched them return to their residence.

Back home, Olsen and Sarah entered the study, with only May allowed to be present.

"I have something to discuss with Sarah, Ivy. Go prepare Sarah's clothes for her to change into later. Shu, you guard downstairs and don't let anyone come up." After giving instructions, Olsen locked the study door and listened to the footsteps of the two younger ones fade away before turning back to the desk.

Sarah sat by the desk, her tired face slightly turned, looking at the floor. May, sitting beside her, held her hand tightly, worriedly watching her dazed expression.

"Sarah, look at me," Olsen said softly.

Sarah obediently looked up at her foster mother, her eyes calm.

Olsen locked onto her serene gaze, "With Alexander gone, let's settle this tonight. I've had someone prepare the ceremony. You will preside over it, even if you're tired. Ivy should have told you that many in the clan don't understand you. This is a good opportunity to change their perception."
