CHAPTER 28

ALPHA ROBIN’S POV
The Beta didn't comment just yet. He gave me that one minute of silence that I needed to realise that I had lost it.

How could I admit to such a thing after everything that happened the last time that I fell in love?

I haven't even told her yet that I love her but clearly, I do love her.

“ Have you heard what you have just said?” Beta asked, hoping that I am going to take back what I had said.

The disbelief in his face confirmed to me that he couldn't understand the person that I had become.

He knew me so well, he saw the pain that I endured the last time that I fell in love.He was livid that after all that, here I am admitting to be in love yet I swore that I was never ever going to fall in love again.

I knew what he wanted me to say but I couldn't say it out loud at the moment. I couldn't say that I didn't care about her because the truth is that I deeply cared about her.

Without saying a word, I turned around and took my leave.

ANITA’S POV
As I lay there hoping to feel better, I couldn't help but fantasise the encounters that I had with him. There is a way he touched my body as if he could see through me and know exactly where he needed to touch.

I was busy fantasising how our first night would be, how I would hold him tight when the door yanked open and Ben walked in.

Who the fuck invited him in! I was starting to get pissed at him. Clearly, he didn't respect any of my personal boundaries.

“ What is wrong with you, the last time we talked, I told you to leave me alone,” I warned.

“ Don't say that to me, you cannot just kick me out because you are getting along with the Alpha. That aside, I am here to plead for my friend. The Alpha had banished him. You have to talk to him to make him retract his statement!” Ben begged desperately.

“ I am sorry but I cannot come between him and his leadership,” I took my stand. It was so unfortunate that his friend was banished but I was never going to question his judgement.

“ How selfish can you be? Huh?” Ben asked, shaking his head in disagreement.

“ This is not you,” He added.

“ What do you want me to do? The guy probably did something to warrant him being excommunicated from the pack,” I said.

“ You are the cause of all this,” Ben repeated.

“ How? I didn't do anything wrong,” I said.

“ He let you go and that is why the Alpha banished him. If you hadn't pulled your stunt of leaving then maybe he would still have a pack to call home,” Ben said.

I didn't know what to say. The weight of what I had done sank and I realised Ben's frustrations.

“ Do something about this, call him out,” Ben advised me.

“ He will listen to you and change his mind,” He added.

“ Go and bid your friend farewell. Tell him to avoid the Cosmo pack by Alpha Lewis,” I told him.

“ Come on, you can't do this. When did you become this heartless?” Ben asked.

“ You should go now , otherwise, you will miss the chance to bid him farewell,” I said. Despite the pity in his face, I would not do what he wanted me to do.

I felt bad for his friend but I was not going to allow him to come between me and the Alpha. I would never challenge his authority. Never.

I want to be that woman who submits fully to him. He is the one who is going to make all the decisions and I will follow because I trust his leadership.

ALPHA ROBIN’S POV
I was glad when the Beta didn't decide to follow me. I needed to be alone and think through what had just happened.

I rushed to my quarters, poured myself a glass of whiskey. I gulped it down before finally thinking about the situation at hand. I had fallen in love, I was deeply in love to the point that I went ahead to tell the Beta about it.

“ Harry, what am I supposed to do? Do you think that I am making a mistake?” I asked. I really needed his help. He knows me so well and he is therefore the best person to give me the advice that I need.

“ Follow your heart,” He said and I knew exactly what he meant. There was no going back. I had to stick with my decision and move forward, to attend to the desires of my heart.

I have given so much time to the pack, working to ensure we are fine. Now that things have stabilised, it's about time that I give myself the time to be happy again. If loving Anita and her loving me back is what makes me happy, then I am going to pursue that.

I needed not to think of anything else. As a matter of fact, I was wasting time. I needed to be with her.

**
ANITA’S POV
I had dozed off but was woken up by his scent. It was so strong, I couldn't resist him. When I opened my eyes, I was right about him, he was right there with me. He had come to see me.

“ How long have you been here? You should have woken me up,” I said.

“ I love watching you sleep..You are so beautiful Anita, do you know that?” He asked before he locked eyes with me and for the first time ever, I could see right through him.

“ He loves you,” Sarah repeated what I had just deduced and it brought a smile to my face.

“ Can I kiss you? I cannot resist your soft pink lips,” He said, coming closer and I nodded.

I can not get enough of him, I will always need him. He can have me, all of me. I love him way too much and I was desperate for that kiss.
