"ANNOYINGLY HANDSOME"

AFTER wiping the shelves, Ara became so busy returning the books, that is why she did not notice the quick passing of hours. 

It's past six and the library is closed. 

During that time they are busy cleaning the library already. And since Daniel and she were on duty for that time, Ara could not help but feel intense discomfort due to the young man's presence. 

"If you want you can rest, I'll just do this," Daniel said kindly as he was busy sweeping the floor. 

Daniel's words touched Ara's heart but she could not get out of her mind what he did to her the other day so as usual the annoyance she felt for the man prevailed again. 

"I will be scolded if I do what you say," Ara's tone seemed even colder than ice. 

She intended that to show Daniel how much she disliked him but that seemed to not affect the man. Because he reacted differently. He smiled sweetly as he had in his eyes the intense amusement for her. 

"Okay," he said still not wiping the beautiful smile on his lips. "I'll just mop the floor then," he even added. 

Ara was speechless. But despite her silence, she still could not stop herself from following the man's distant bulk. And as expected he came back carrying a spin mop. 

At first, both of them made no noise at all. But it seems that Daniel couldn't stand it because soon he started whistling the song You And Me by Lifehouse. 

Because of that, the scene she saw earlier on the roof deck quickly came back to her mind and that is why Ara once again felt a familiar caress of emotion in her heart. 

Strange though but on the other hand, she is still thrilled. 

She seemed abnormal, if that was the right description for her during that moment she was not sure. But that is how she feels and she now thinks of herself because of the many mixed emotions she has at that moment. 

Daniel continued to whistle and even though she did not admit it, she was really tempted to glance back at the young man. 

She is having this feeling that it seems to be the reason for what he is doing. 

Ara feels like Daniel wants her to turn around and glance at him. And because the urge was so strong, Ara was unable to restrain herself from doing so. Just to regret everything because her face really literally blushed when the man winked at her with a mischievous and dangerous smile. 

"You are so annoying, did you know that?" Ara could no longer control herself because of the intensity of the embarrassment she felt. 

"Oh, why is that I am annoying again? I am so busy mopping the floor here," Daniel replied holding back his laughter who even stopped mopping and then stared straight into her eyes. 

The irritation Ara felt intensified when from staring into the young man's eyes she saw the glare of intense amusement from there. That is why she could not stop herself from approaching the young man. 

"Will you stop pretending like you know nothing? I don't think you will really do anything sensible in my life, you monster!" she said emphatically but irritated in an annoyed tone. 

Ara hoped that by saying that to the man, he would stop and she would see the defeat in the aura of his face, but she was wrong. Because she became even angrier with what the young man did next. 

"You just blushed, now you are calling me a monster, I can't stop thinking," Daniel said with a meaningful smile as he brought his face closer to hers. 

It seems that their faces are not even a span away from each other so Daniel's fragrant breath freely crossed Ara's face. And that is why she suddenly felt the quick reaction of the tiny hairs on her nape. While the delicious sensation that went through her body is really undeniable. 

"W-What ---?" Daniel did not let her finish what she wanted to say because he spoke again. 

"Let's go back to work, and also before I forget let's go home together ah? After all, we only live in one village, eh," he told her. 

Ara's eyebrows immediately met at what she heard. "What do you mean we only live in one village?" she asked wondering. 

Daniel shrugged his shoulders and continued what he was doing. "It's hard to explain because you're mad at me right now. But don't worry, time will come and I'll explain everything to you," he said as he raises his beautiful eyebrows along with a meaningful smile. 

Ara rolled her eyes then shook her head because of what she heard before she opened her mouth to speak. "And why should I do that?" the young lady is now talking about Daniel's offer of going home with him. 

"It's late, it's not safe to commute," this time the tone of Daniel's voice is different. 

Teasing was no longer there and instead, Ara felt a serious and real concern. That's why her mind tells her something else. 

Daniel did a great wrong to her. 

For the first in her life as a student, she was summoned to the Guidance Office just because he kissed her in front of many students. She is mad not only because she was humiliated.  

That was her first kiss.  

And that is what she cannot accept up until now. 

She just can't believe that Daniel was able to take her first kiss just like that. 

And for Ara, her reaction is just normal. 

Any woman would not like what Daniel did to her. 

The first kiss should be special and is only given to a special person at a special occasion and at the right time. And not like what happened to her. Not like what happened to them. 

 

ARA is already outside the huge gate of their university waiting for a jeepney when a black car stopped in front of her. Instant fear fell on the young lady's chest so she stepped back. But it also immediately disappeared when the driver lowered the window on the passenger side. 

"Let's go!" Daniel who is sitting in front of the steering wheel of the car called her. 

Ara shook her head then decided to walked away, at the same time she is trying to ignore the negative emotion that is now starting to envelop her chest. 

Ara thought Daniel could get what she meant by doing that but she was wrong again. She was stunned when she heard the young man speak from inside his car which was currently accompanying her much faster walking. 

"Ara!" he called her. 

"Aren't you really going to stop? Please? I don't have time for your teasing!" her angry hisses at the young man. 

"I'm just worried about you, get on, you don't want me to be the cause of traffic here right?" Daniel said as he stopped the car right in front of her. 

When the young man did that, the vehicles behind him immediately started making noise. 

"Get inside the car, please!" Daniel called out at her which seems to be the reason why she suddenly moves and gave the young man what he wants. 

"I really hate you!"  irritated by the annoyance Ara said as the young man finally ran his car. 

Ara heard the faint laugh that ran down through Daniel's throat before speaking. "Seatbelt please," what was the young man's only response to what she said. 

Ara frowned as she turned to the young man and then without saying a word, she fastened her seatbelt. 

"That's my girl," he told her. 

Ara looked back at Daniel who at that moment had a beautiful smile. She did not speak, because the truth is that even though she did not admit it, she felt a thrill in her heart because of what he said. 

Daniel Trinidad, handsome, rich, and according to Jason, smart. A total package in short, except for one, extremely annoying. 

Handsome but annoying. 

That may be the perfect description for the young man if she will be asked. *
