CHAPTER 54

Dawn of the next day brought a new beginning for some, but for others, it showed a resentful appearance, Xander had drunk so much yesterday that it made him quite delirious, and in that he said some things that he shouldn't have. But was this a first?
He and Hector quite engaged in fights like these for a long time but all it took for him to seriously apologize and his stepbrother would not hold a grudge but this time it was not a repeat of all those instances. He was literally told by the butler to leave since it was getting late and even after some protests was drawn away.
Never in his life he faced such a dishonor. Even in addition to that what did the woman along with Hector said.....that he was quite shameless. How dare a lowly person of unknown origins talk to him like that. He wanted to teach her a lesson and thus had resorted to another way which was not ethical.
"What are the results of the investigation?"
In the morning itself, he had called an investigation agency to hire a person that could dig some dirt on the woman and know everything about her so as to make Hector realize that only he was his well-wisher.
"Is this Xander Asis?" The voice on the other end sounded somewhat impatient.
"Yes."
"Then I must request Sir to not indulge in Miss Aurora anymore, we cannot provide you anything other than a warning to mind your own matters." The line went dead after that making Xander furious to the point of smashing his phone at the wall.
If nobody could help him as such then it was only himself that he could rely on.
"Sir, you have a meeting scheduled at 12 PM sharp, the guests are from Japan and have arrived just now, would you like me to reserve a table for them at a diner first?
The secretary ignored the dead glare he was awarded with, knowing how to keep up with his spontaneous boss and waited till he had heard an answer.
"Alright then."

"I have heard that you are not in the office these days."
"I...well I am on a short vacation..?" The answer itself sounded out so unsure that Ares raised an eyebrow at Aurora making her give a sheepish smile. The restaurant was attached with a cozy Italian bakery that their family visited since Aurora was young making it one of the most memorable place to dine and spend time whenever they could make time.
"So, shall I presume that my sister has found someone to her liking?"
Aurora blushed and nodded her head before being served a blueberry pancake in her plate.
"I am not sure dad will approve though." Aurora smiled at the words as if in thought before chuckling a little as if remembering something of great significance.
"Do you remember my prom? I had a line of suitors that wanted to accompany me atleast, because it was a great favor to stand beside the daughter of the mafia emperor...haha now that I remember their faces when dad said only he had the right to escort me, well that was hilarious.
But on contrary to that I don't think dad would be too hard this time, if I explain to him and that person leaves a good impression, things would be rather good since papa for most has prevented me from falling for those idiotic jerks that were after my power."
Ajax was very possessive of Aurora but so was Ares and her mother. The first step she could take was to make Hector and Alaina meet. If her mother likes Hector then things would go very smoothly.
Elegant movements were displayed when the woman rose from her table with a packet parcel in her hand after Ares as they made their way outside the place laughing.
"Who is this for, if I may know?" The mafia prince eyed the flavored pastries before being pushed away.
"Ofcourse it is for dad and mum."
"Then, what is for me? After all I am getting married in a month?"
"I wouldn't even give you a penny!" While the siblings appeared joyous as they bickered back and forth, they did not paid any heed to others watching their interaction. Among various eyes there was one with blue tint immersed in mirth.
The interaction between the siblings was misunderstood and then misinterpreted fully well before Xander took out his phone to capture photos of the duo in secrecy. It was a manipulation, the moment Xander saw Aurora sitting in a place like this which only was affordable to the most privileged he concluded that it must be the man with her who had brought her out.
To insult him that day with such arrogance she sure was brave since a woman of low standards that relied on other men had no honor or prestige yet she pretended to be high and mighty. He sent the photos to Hector with a smile on his face before getting up to follow Aurora secretly.
The delegation can wait but how will he forgive someone who made him lose his face.
