Chapter Thirteen - Help us

Freya Rose

“Freya, help us!” I heard a cry for help in my mind, and I knew straight away that it was Tana.
“We need to leave, now!” I shouted out to Finn. I didn't bother to explain, I just sprinted out of the double doors.
I ran along the seemingly never-ending corridor, with Finnley hot on my heels. He quickly mind linked me,
“Freya, what's happened?”
“It's Tana, she said they need help. She sounded petrified,” I replied through the mind link as I reached the stairs.
Finnley picked up speed and ran in front of me, he then rushed up the stairs like a leopard climbing a tree. I followed behind him, and once in the conference room I closed the hatch. I went to pull the rug back over the hatch, but Finn grabbed it out of my hands and shouted,
“I'll do it, you open that fucking door!”
I didn't like how he spoke to me, but now wasn't the time for arguments. I placed my hand onto the mirror and unlocked it. I then sprinted through the mansion and towards the garden. Once I got to the back doors I froze at the scene that awaited me. All five of my pack were in their wolf forms, and Tana's wolf was ignited in flames. They were all snarling, growling and snapping at a levitating fire ball. I knew instantly that it was an ascended and extremely pissed off Mason. I could feel his rage as soon as I reached the garden.
I scanned the scene again, and on the floor behind the pack, was a curled-up man. I couldn't see who it was, but the pack was stopping Mason from getting to the guy. I didn't know if they were protecting him from Mason, or stopping Mason from rescuing the guy from them. Either way, I had to stop this nonsense before it got out of control. I ascended and flew up into the air to face Mason. I ignited my flames to join him. When I reached him, I placed my hands on his chest and asked calmly,
“Mason, babe? What's wrong?”
He snapped back in the deepest and most angered tone that I'd ever heard from him,
“They have Evan!”
“What!?” I snapped in shock as I spun around in the air to look at the guy on the floor.
Sure enough, it was Evan. I shook my head, but at the same time I sighed with relief, because this was a situation that I could fix. Finnley had caught up to us and was standing with his mouth wide open watching us all in awe. I knew he wished that he was a Phoenix too, I mean why wouldn't he? We look fucking awesome. I lowered myself to the floor, and then extinguished my flames as I approached my pack. I then shouted in my alpha voice,
“Shift, now!”
One by one the hybrids began to shift back into their human form. The boys stood there looking over to each other and then back at me. One of them shot another a confused shrug. Once Tana had shifted she ran over to me and said cautiously,
“Alpha, did we do something wrong? We came across this vampire hybrid while out on patrol, and we was bringing him to you, then Mason went ape shit and attacked us.”
I ran my hand down her cheek, and then held her chin so that I could look into her eyes. I smiled sweetly and replied,
“No Tana, you didn't do anything wrong. You were doing your job. It's just that we know this hybrid, he is Mason's cousin.”
One of the hybrid guys gasped, and another asked,
“Oh shit, is that Evan?”
“Yes Nick,” I replied as I made my way over to Evan.
“We're so sorry Alpha, we didn't know,” Nick replied apologetically.
I smiled at him and replied,
“It's ok, you weren't to know. You all did a great job, don’t worry. Now get out of here and enjoy your peekend.”
They all hooted and hollered. They then bowed their heads to me and then ran off into the mansion. I looked at Finnley as he mind linked me,
“I'll leave you to it. I best go and get ready too, there is no way I'm letting those kids out on their own,” he said with a giggle.
I giggled back and nodded my head at him, he bowed his head to me, and then headed off into the mansion too. I knelt down in front of Evan and removed the rope from around his ankles. He began to stir, and just as I took the ropes off, he hissed at me as he scrambled backwards on the floor. Once his black eyes met mine he calmed instantly, and his eyes went back to their usual hazel color. He screamed out to me with excitement,
“Freya, thank God! I finally found you.”
He rushed at me and slammed into my body so hard that he knocked me back onto the ground. I giggled as he grabbed my head and placed little tiny kisses all over my face, he then said between kisses,
“I can't believe I've finally found you, I missed you so much.”
“Hey! Get your filthy blood sucking hands off of my Fianna!” Mason boomed from behind us.
Evan instantly stopped his display of affection, and I looked up into the air, expecting to see Mason fuming, but he had a huge grin on his face. I smiled and watched as Evan jumped up off of the floor and sprinted towards his cousin. He smashed into him and they hugged tightly. Evan then pulled away, grabbed Mason's head and then planted the same tiny kisses all over his face. It was hilarious to watch, Mason kept swatting at him, trying to get him to stop. He then whined,
“Dude, come on, stop it already.”
I giggled again as I got myself up off of the floor and made my way over to them. They both looked at me and then each grabbed one of my hands and pulled me into the hug with them. I stood there and looked up at the pair of them, I couldn't stop smiling, I was so happy to have them back. This was definitely a sign. With these two, Finn and the pack by my side, I knew we would be ok. We will escape this place, and we will do it together.
“Now, as nice as this is, we have important things to discuss, you got anywhere private that we can go?” Evan asked me in a serious tone.
“Um, yeah. Follow me,” I replied calmly.
Inside I was far from calm, I knew that the only private place we could go was back down to the secret holding cells. I had no idea how they would both react, but there was nowhere else we could go. Mina was excited to be going back down to the hybrids. She had accepted them as soon as I turned them, but she couldn't handle what the transition did to them. She used to go insane every time we were down there. She kept trying to take over and help them, but I kept her at bay. In the end she gave up trying, and then each time I went down there she would disappear. She used to then ignore me for days, and over the last two years she spoke to me less and less. So having her back, and on my side after so long, felt amazing. I felt whole again.
“Finn, can you meet me at the conference room please, I think I'm going to need some back up when I take the guys down there,” I mind linked Finnley as I walked Evan and Mason through the mansion.
“What the hell are you taking them down there for; are you mad?” He replied through the link.
“Probably, but Evan has something important to tell me, and we need somewhere secure,” I said to him.
“Ok, I'll be there in a minute,” he replied simply.
I led the guys to the mirror and opened it up. I then stepped into the conference room and waited for them to follow me in. I then saw Finn running down the corridor and waited for him to join us. I then closed the mirror, and then locked it down. Finn pulled up the rug for me, and I then knelt down and entered the code, and then opened up the secret hatch. Mason stayed silent, but Evan said with awe,
“Wow, this place is insane. No wonder you don't want to leave.”
Finn shot him a scowl and growled at him. Evan replied,
“Whoa, what's up your ass?”
“We do want to leave Evan. But we can't, we are prisoners here,” I said in a monotone voice.
“Oh shit, I'm sorry. I didn't realize. You just look so comfortable here. Don't worry, I'll shut my mouth until you've explained,” he said with a hint of regret.
I led the guys down the stairs and towards the holding cells. Once outside of the room, I took in a deep breath and then exhaled heavily. I opened the door and entered the room. As I got into the room I expected the hybrids to growl at me like always, but they didn't. Four of them were in their deformed wolf forms, but they were luckily sleeping. The other three were in their human forms, and were getting on with things in their cells. The three human formed hybrids each turned to face me, and for the first time ever they all smiled at me and then bowed their heads. Mina howled out in my mind, and the three hybrids joined her howl through a mind link.
It warmed my heart knowing that they had accepted me as their Alpha. I never expected it, and I was happy to know that we could now start working together to help them through all of this. My smile soon faded as Mason shouted out,
“What the fuck is this? Freya please tell me that you're not keeping these hunters caged up like this.”
I rolled my eyes and turned around to face him. I stormed over to him and began poking him in the chest with my finger. I then shouted into his face,
“Don't you dare judge me! You locked me and Finnley in a cell, remember? And it wasn't as nice as these ones are, I remember seeing buckets in the corner of the cells. Like really Mason? You expected me to shit in a bucket?”
He backed away from me and rubbed the back if his neck with his hand, he then replied in a hushed and uncertain voice,
“That was different.”
“How? Tell me how it was different. You shoved us in those cells because you didn't know what to do with us. Look, it doesn't matter, just stop fucking judging me until you know the whole story, got it?” I said with one last poke of my finger on his chest.
Evan sniggered and Finn didn't even bother to get involved, he walked over to the fridge and got four beers out. He handed one to Evan, and then opened and placed the other two on the dining table. He then went over to the couch and sat down with Evan.
“I'm sorry Freya, it was just a shock to see them caged up like this. No more judgements, I promise,” Mason said softly as he pulled me in for a hug. He kissed the top of my head, and I relaxed into his embrace.
I then pulled away from him and said,
“Go and drink your beer with the guys, I want to talk to the hybrids.”
He smiled and then grabbed his beer and pulled one of the dining chairs out. He then placed it in front of Evan and Finn. He then turned it around so that the back was facing them, and then straddled it, resting his elbows on the back of the chair. They all began chatting and catching up, and I smiled softly as I watched them interact with each other. It was nice seeing them all together again. I turned away from them and walked to the first cell on the left.
Inside was a young woman, she was stunning looking, and she had made sure she kept herself and her cell clean and tidy. She was sitting on her rug, cross legged on the floor. She had a pad and some pencils in front of her. I sat down on the floor just outside her cell and said softly,
“Hi, I'm Freya. What are you up to?”
She cautiously turned to face me, and her beauty took my breath away. She had ash blond hair, and the brightest blue/green eyes. She was so pretty, it looked like her face had been sculpted to perfection. A button nose, high cheekbones, and a set of lips that would put the Kardashians to shame. She didn't reply, but she did hold up her pad to show me what she was doing. She had drawn a picture of me, surrounded by flames and lightning bolts. The picture was amazing and ridiculously detailed, I needed to see it closer.
“Do you mind if I come in and look at it?” I asked her with confidence.
She looked around the room with confusion. I could understand her being wary, because the only time people went in there was to drag her out, strap her to a table and do experiments on her. She wasn't used to people showing an interest or being nice. I didn't know if I was doing the right thing, but I had to try and build up trust with these hybrids. She nodded her head slightly, and then went over to her bed and sat on it, she then shuffled backwards like a scared animal and pressed herself into the corner. I got up and opened the door, and then slipped into the cell. I made sure I did it as quickly as I could, before the guys had a chance to stop me. I saw Finn stand up and hurry towards the cell, so I quickly locked it.
“Freya! Have you lost your fucking mind?” Finnley screamed out to me.
Evan and Mason sprinted over to join him. Mason then said in a pleading voice,
“Freya, please come out of there.”
I shook my head at him, and then addressed them all,
“I know what I'm doing, trust me.”
I lied, I didn't have a clue what I was doing, she could easily try to rip me apart, and to be honest I wouldn't blame her for wanting to kill me. I swallowed hard as I heard her begin to growl behind me. But, when I turned around to look at her, she ran up to me, gently moved me away from the glass, and then began growling and snarling at Evan. I guessed she saw him as a threat, being a vampire hybrid automatically made him an enemy. I mind linked her and tried to calm her down,
“He's a friend, you do not need to fear him.”
“I don't fear him; I want to eat him. He smells so delicious,” she replied out loud, and then licked her lips.
“Is she talking about me? And did she just dribble?” Evan asked with a nervous laugh.
I grinned at Evan, and he knew instantly that she was talking about him. He looked around nervously and then said,
“Ahem, well I think that's my cue to back away from the crazy.”
I giggled as he stepped backwards and then hurried over to the couch. He then sat right at the end of it, making sure he was as far away as he could possibly be. Finn and Mason laughed as they went to join him. I could hear them mocking him as I watched the girl make her way back over to her bed. I bent down, picked up her drawing off of the floor, and then walked over to the bed and sat down next to her.
“This drawing is amazing; can you explain it to me?” I asked her as I ran my hand over the picture of me.
“This is you, our Alpha. You are powerful and have the amazing power of electricity and fire. This drawing depicts you as ruler of all supernatural beings. You will be our savior and our protector,” she said softly. She then pointed to three men that stood behind me on the drawing and said,
“These three men represent your heart, body and soul. They will each bring you pain, heartache and sadness, but they will also bring you love, power and happiness. You need all three of these men in your life to succeed.”
The three men standing behind me on the drawing were Tristan, Mason and Samael. The rest of the drawing was dark shadows of people I couldn't recognize, the only other people I did recognize was Selene, my pack, this girl, two of the other hybrids and Azael. I continued to stare at the picture, amazed by how life like it was. The girl then knelt down on the floor in front of me and bowed her head. I placed the drawing down onto the bed and then furrowed my brow at her. She then said with her head still down,
“Freya Rose of the Rose Pack, you are our savior, our protector, and you will be the Trybrid Queen. You will sit on a throne made from the bones of your enemies, and you will drink their blood as if it were wine. You will be a formidable yet fair ruler, and you will be loved by all.”
She then looked up at me with her large eyes, wide with excitement and love. She then said,
“I will follow you to the ends of the earth my Queen, you have my word.”
I furrowed my brow even more; I appreciated her enthusiasm, but I didn't believe what she was saying. There was no way that I would ever be strong enough to rule over all supernatural beings. I mean, she should know this, she has met Azael many times, surely she knows that his power is way beyond anything that I could ever possess. He's a fallen angel for Christ's sake. And what is this about me being a Trybrid? Oh, and I know she's fucking crazy if she thinks that Tristan, Mason and Samael will ever work together to help me rule.
“You don't believe me do you?” She asked as she sat back on her heels.
“It's a nice thought, but I'm just not strong enough to be the person who you envision,” I replied honestly.
“Freya, whether you believe me or not, it will happen. I have seen what an amazing future you will bring to our kind. You will unite us all. Even Marik and Traian will come together to help you, in fact, they are on their way here as we speak,” she said excitedly.
“Did she just say Marik and Traian?” Mason asked with intrigue as he walked over to the cell with Evan following closely behind him.
“Yeah, why? Who are they?” I asked in confusion, I thought the girl was bat shit crazy, but Mason clearly knew more than I did.
“You must be the Oracle that Selene told me about. You informed us of Freya's whereabouts,” Evan addressed the girl.
“My name is Savanah, you must be Evan. Selene didn't warn me that you were a delicious vampire hybrid,” she said as she flashed him a wink.
I could see that she made him uncomfortable, but it made me chuckle. Mason then spoke, he directed his question to Savanah,
“Did Selene tell you that Traian is a vampire?”
“Yes, she told me a lot about her son's,” Savanah replied.
“Son's? Selene has actual children? Beings that she birthed herself?” I asked in shock.
“Yeah, I'll fill you in later. Now if they are on their way here, we need to think of a plan. Because I'm guessing that the family reunion with their father, won't go down too well,” Evan said in an uneasy tone, as he ushered with his hand for me to leave the cell.
I opened up the door, not even thinking about Savanah. I quickly turned around to make sure she didn't make a run for it, but when I laid my eyes on her she was back sitting on her rug, and had started a new drawing. She then spoke without even looking up,
“We will wait here for you. We will be ready to leave when you come to fetch us.”
She pointed to the cell across the room. I looked over to where she was pointing, and sat in the first cell was a mixed-race girl. She was gorgeous, and she had the most unusual dark blond curly hair and light green eyes. She smiled at me and gave me a tiny wave, she then bowed her head to me and said,
“I am Jenna, and this is my brother AJ. Savanah has told us about your future, and we would do anything to be a part of your pack. Will you please accept us Alpha?”
I looked over to the cell beside hers, and in there was a very muscular and strong looking mixed-race guy. He had the same light green eyes as Jenna, but his curly hair was black. He bowed his head to me too, and when they both looked back up to hear my answer, I smiled at them and replied,
“Of course there is space for you in our pack. We have room for you all.”
“No! Not those four, they are beyond help or redemption. They are too far gone in their madness. You have no choice but to leave the poor creatures here,” Savanah shouted out, and as I looked over to her I saw that she still hadn't lifted her head. She then said,
“You must leave, Marik and Traian will be here before night fall.”
Evan, Finnley, Mason and I left the holding cells, we travelled through the corridor and then back up the stairs into the conference room. Finn placed the rug back down as I opened up the mirror. I then walked them all to my room, and as I opened the door to my bedroom, I asked the question that had been burning in my mind for the last ten minutes,
“Who is the father of Selene’s sons?”
I turned my head back around to walk into my room, and then froze on the spot as Azael stood up from my bed and said in a deep and unsettling voice,
“I am!”
