Chapter Nine - Everyone out!
Freya Rose
I pulled away from Tristan, and as I did I made sure to seductively slide my hands down his body. I watched with a smirk on my face as he closed his eyes and exhaled deeply, letting out a low rumbling growl along with it. I lowered myself back down to the floor, and no sooner than my heels hit the ground, a high-pitched hiss filled the room. Sam lunged forwards, pushing the group of teenage hunters out of his way with one arm. A few of them lost their footing and fell to the ground, while the others managed to move out of the way just in time. The redhead quickly pulled them over to the wall with the others. Tristan ripped open his eyes, and then threw his hand towards me. As soon as his palm connected with my chest, I went flying backwards and straight into Finnley.
Luckily he caught me, otherwise I would have smashed right into the mirror. Finn helped me up to my feet, and we both just stood there in silence as Tristan and Samael fought. Punches were flying everywhere, and they were both so fast that not many of them connected. But, the ones that did sent a booming thud echoing through the room. I looked over at the teenagers and they were all squatted on the floor and huddled together. All except the redhead, she held on to the group again, and while they hid their faces not wanting to watch, she looked on in fascination.
“Aren't you going to stop them Freya?” Finn asked me in a mind link.
I should have wanted to stop their fighting, but to be honest, they both deserved a good ass kicking. The way they had both treated me was horrendous, so I was seeing this as karma. And I'll be perfectly honest, it was the hottest damn thing I'd ever seen. Way better than the fight Tristan had with Landon. Back then he was still a boy, now with his new Alpha strength, wow. I shook the erotic thoughts that I was having out of my head before they had a chance to take over, and then mind linked Finn my simple and blunt answer,
“Nope,” and I even popped the p.
I scanned around the room and saw that the council members were enjoying themselves, their eyes were lightly illuminated, and they were on the edge of their seats taking in the show. They clearly didn't care if a vampire and a werewolf ripped each other to shreds. The twins were enjoying the show too, and were cheering on their brother. They were saying things like 'kick his ass Sam' and 'kill that mutt.' I shook my head and then looked over at Jeremy, he wasn't watching the fight, his eyes were fixated on me. He had a look of concern on his face as he mind linked me,
“are you ok Freya?” He asked softly.
“Yeah, of course. Why wouldn't I be?” I replied casually.
“Well, if two people that I loved were beating each other to a pulp, I'd be pretty upset,” he said with a hint of annoyance.
“With what the pair of them have done to me, it's the least they deserve. And besides, what would me being upset achieve exactly? Don't you think they have upset me enough?” I replied angrily furrowing my brows to make my annoyance known.
“Fair enough, but I thought you were a better person than this. The Freya I thought you were, wouldn't let people she loves get hurt. Just saying,” he said casually and then looked away from me and back to the fight.
“Seriously? Well, that Freya is long gone. The new Freya is putting herself first for a change. And if you think less of me because of it, then you can piss off too. Now get the fuck out of my head!” I yelled through the link.
He didn't reply, and he didn't react either, I wasn't sure if he heard me, or if he'd cut off the link before my angry rant. I was feeling good before, but his little speech had me fuming. I let out an exaggerated huff as I looked away from him. The two other vampires caught my eye, the male looked a lot like Sam and the twins, but he had mousy brown hair that he wore messily swept back. He had deep rich golden-brown eyes, and he was watching the fight with a worried look on his face. The female sitting next to him also had a similar look, tanned skin, long mousy brown hair, and her eyes were the same deep golden-brown. She was extremely attractive, even with the stream of tears flowing down her cheeks.
As I inspected the vampire pair, I noticed that they were both shackled with iron cuffs around their wrists. Their wrists were red raw, the cuffs were so tight that they were burrowing into their skin. The wounds looked horrendously sore, they were different shades of red from a mix of fresh and dried blood. Then there was a bright luminous green puss oozing out around the edges. My eyes followed the thick and rusty looking chains, and they led all the way down to the floor. The chains were connected to two more cuffs that were fastened around their ankles. I furrowed my brow as I turned back to look at Jeremy. I was going to mind link him and find out who they were, and why they were chained up. But before I had a chance to, I heard a loud crack, then another, and another. Someone was shifting, but who?
I shot my head around and saw that it was Tristan who was shifting, and panic filled my entire being. He wasn't going to be able to shift quick enough, Sam would be on him before he finished his shift, and he'd kill him for sure. And if he didn't, then the twelve hunters that were swiftly ascending behind me would. I need to save him, but who do I stop first? The hunters or Sam? I questioned myself, as I looked pleadingly between Finnley and Jeremy for help.
Finn nodded at me, and then began to shift, Jeremy jumped up off of the couch and followed suit. I chose not to shift, instead, I screeched into the air and ascended. As I finished my ascension, I saw that Sam was beginning to charge at Tristan. Having the choice taken out of my hands, I sprinted towards Sam, and as I did, Finnley finished his shift into his mega wolf and placed himself between me and the hunters. Tristan and Jeremy were almost finished with their shifts, and I luckily reached Sam just before he got to Tristan.
“Sam, stop this. He isn't worth it!” I screamed at Sam as he barged right into me.
He completely ignored me and continued to try to push through me. I could hear Tristan still shifting behind me, and Finnley snarling to the side of me. I could also faintly hear the erratic heartbeats of the scared teenagers, and the electrical buzz coming from the excited council members. I tried to shake all the distractions out of my head and focus on my hands, that were now pushing back against Sam's muscular chest. The strength he had was immense, and it took all that I had in me to keep him from pushing me along the floor.
I stood firm and slowly looked up at his face, it was contorted with pure anger, but as soon as my illuminated eyes hit his raven black ones, I could feel his body begin to ease up, and his expression softened. I don't know what possessed me to do it, but I stopped pushing against him and slid my hands up his chest, and then gently placed them either side of his face. I felt his strong hands grab me around my waist, and then he pulled me in tight to his body. Our faces were just inches apart, and the tension was overwhelming. It was like he was pulling me in, taking me away from the madness that surrounded us.
As we stared into each other's eyes, our breathing became deep and labored. Everyone and everything around us became slow and muffled, and as I got lost in his gaze, his raven eyes began to change color. I watched as the black slowly faded away, leaving in its place the gorgeous golden-brown color that I adored. I glanced down at his inviting lips, and the edges curled up into a soft and slight smile. That was it, I placed my lips gently onto his, and it must have only been seconds but the velvet touch that our lips shared, sent my pulse into overdrive. His lips caressed mine ever so slightly, and so gently that it almost tickled. He then placed a hand behind my head, and then pulled me in deeper as he slid his tongue into my mouth.
No sooner than our tongues greeted each other, an ear-piercing scream dragged us back into reality, and the extreme situation we were in. I heard wolves snarling and growling, and as I turned to look at Finnley, Sam threw me sideways, and I went flying into the frightened teenagers, knocking most of them to the ground like bowling pins. I hurried to right myself, and as I prepared to get onto my feet, I looked up and saw the magnitude of our situation. Finnley and Jeremy were fighting off the twins, trying to keep them back. Luckily the council members had calmed themselves enough, and were just watching the chaotic scene unfold. A couple of them were holding onto the chained-up vampires as they fought against their chains to get to us.
That was all of them accounted for, all except Kali, who I guessed was the one that screamed, she was hurtling towards me, and as she ran she screeched up into the air and ascended, spreading out her huge black wings. I had spent too long watching everyone else that I hadn't noticed her, and I hadn't noticed that Tristan had completed his shift and was flying through the air towards Sam. I froze at that moment; I didn't know if I should save Sam or save myself. Suddenly I heard an ascension screech at the side of me, and as I turned to look, I saw the red headed girl's wings fan out and she flew right at Kali. A few of the male teenage hunters followed suit and ascended too, they then charged after the redhead.
The redhead tackled Kali to the ground, but Kali didn't stay down for long, within seconds she was up onto her feet and charging at me again. One of the male hunters launched forwards and punched her square in the face, she froze on the spot, and then picked him up by his throat. She hissed into his face, but before she had a chance to do anything with him, another other male hunter tackled her from the side. She instantly fell to the floor, and as she tried to get up, the redhead began attacking her. Watching the scene unfold, the last three teenage hunters built up enough confidence to join in. I guessed their natural instincts kicked in, and overtook their feelings of being too scared to participate. One went to join in the fight with Kali, and the other two joined in helping Finnley and Jeremy. Knowing that Kali was being kept busy, I focused back on Tristan and Sam. Again I'd been too preoccupied with everyone else to check what was happening with them. When I looked at them Tristan had Sam pinned to the floor by his throat. I didn't know how he had got the better of him, but I couldn't waste time thinking about it. I thought the best way to fight Tristan would be in wolf form, so I shifted as quickly as I could.
As soon as I finished my shift, I aimed my head right at Tristan's wolf and then began to charge. I lowered my head just as I reached him, and then headbutted him in the ribs. I heard a couple of them crack as he went flying through the air and smashed into the glass refrigerator. I swear the thing must have been bolted to the wall, because from the force that he hit it, it should have come crashing down on top of him as he fell to the floor. But instead, the glass doors shattered, and tiny little squares of glass fell to the floor like raindrops. He laid there unconscious, so I quickly checked on Sam, he was clutching his neck with his hand. Blood poured out of the deep bite mark that covered most of his neck, and his hand wasn't big enough to put pressure on it all. I whimpered at him and nudged his side with my muzzle. He gradually pushed himself up, so that he was now sitting up, but barely. He was so weak from the blood loss, and in this form, I had no idea what to do, I couldn't talk to him, or ask him what he needed.
“Blood, he needs blood Freya,” Mina cried out in my head.
“Of course he does, how did I not think of it?” I replied back.
I quickly sat down and concentrated as hard as I could on my front right paw. Just as I'd hoped my paw began shifting back into my human hand. Once my arm had shifted just above my wrist, I turned my hand over and shoved it into Sam's face. He took my hand, and then looked into my wolf eyes, as he asked in a shaky voice,
“Are you sure Freya?”
I whimpered at him and raised my wrist up to his lips, he smiled at me weakly and then sank his fangs into my wrist. I lifted my head up and howled into the air. The pain from his fangs was excruciating, it was like molten lava spikes had just pierced through my skin. How my body didn't burst into flames at that moment, I did not know. As the pain got to an all-new high, I thought I was going to pass out, but within seconds the pain was fading and fading fast. It was being replaced with a cooling numb kind of feeling. It was tingly and I'll be honest, it started to feel good.
“Enough! Everyone out!” A booming voice echoed through the room.
Vampires, werewolves and hunters alike, all froze on the spot and turned to face one of the council members. As Sam continued to feed, I turned my head to look at the guy, out of pure curiosity. Who was powerful enough to make everyone freeze like that? He was a large muscular man easily double the size of the other council members. He was in his mid-forties, and he had a ruggedly handsome face, that was cradled by a neat dark beard. He had a deep scar that ran down the length of his cheek, and as we heal really fast, I wondered what could have caused a scar like that. He had tanned skin, and dark hair that he wore swept back. He also had deep golden-brown eyes, and as I stared into them I could have sworn I saw a red glow. He pointed towards the door, and almost everyone began to leave.
The way they were all walking out was bizarre, they walked in slow motion, and in silence. They looked like zombies. I watched in confusion as they all walked out of the room, Kali and the twins, Jeremy and Finnley. Hell, even the other council members and the chained vamps left too. What the fuck is this guy? I thought to myself. As I watched the guy walk towards me, my vision began to blur, and my head started to spin out of control. I slid down onto the floor and whimpered. Sam had taken too much blood, but he was still feeding. I tried to pull my arm out of his grip, but I was too weak. I blinked heavily as the council member squatted down in front of me. As I took my final look at him, I saw a flash of fangs. He's a vampire! I thought to myself as I closed my eyes.
“Don't worry Freya, Azael's here now. Everything is going to be ok, I promise,” I heard him say in a soulful voice, that immediately calmed my nerves as I passed out peacefully.
Samuel Wülf
I couldn't believe that Freya had offered me her blood. I really did try to resist, but without it, I knew that I would have bled out. Sure it wouldn't have killed me, but if Tristan had woken up, or anyone else had wanted to attack me, then I couldn't have defended myself. Sat here with her stunning mega wolf beside me, and her blood flowing through my veins, I had even more respect, admiration and love for her. She really was the perfect woman.
But, if she's so damn perfect, why are you killing her? I screamed inside my own head. I wanted to stop feeding on her, I really did, but being so weak from the bite, I succumb to the blood lust. I couldn't stop myself. With tears streaming down my face, I lapped up every delicious crimson red drop that flowed out of her artery. I suddenly heard Azael order everyone to leave. I was hoping that his order was for me too, but as I drank another mouthful of the blood of my love, I knew his order wasn't aimed at me.
See, Azael is the reason why I didn't break my siblings out of here myself. He is the head of the hunter's council, basically the leader of them all. The leader before him used to be an old man, an archangel called Gilliard, but Azael murdered him, and then took over. He was fed up of living in the shadows, constantly hiding away from the archangels. He knew that they hadn't been down to earth in centuries, so he saw his opportunity to build up an army. After killing Gilliard, he set about finding a way to create hybrids.
Azael knew of his sons, after Selene cast Traian out of the moon realm, and unleashed him onto the earth. It didn't take long for Azael to become aware of a strange human-like creature, who was massacring entire villages. When he eventually caught up to Traian, Marik was there too, and he was overjoyed to know that he had two sons, and he marveled at what spectacular creatures they were. Unfortunately for him, his powers of persuasion had no effect on them, and they wanted nothing to do with him.
Azael had hoped that his sons could help him fight the archangels that were hunting him, but as that plan failed he needed to try something else. So, he tried to create even more magical offspring by impregnating other Lycan women, but each one of those pregnancies resulted in not only the death of the mother, but also the death of the child. He eventually ran out of Lycan women to impregnate, and with no females left, the Lycan species died out. That's when he needed a new plan.
“Samael, release her now,” Azael boomed at me.
My mouth instantly opened and dropped Freya's arm. I watched as it fell to the floor, I quickly wiped my mouth and crawled towards her, but before I could get to her, Azael shot me a glare. His eyes were black like vampires and werewolves, but he had the white hunters swirling vortex. They were hypnotic and impossible to look away from. He looked away just as Freya was shifting back into her human form. I could do nothing but watch in silence, as he put his wrist to his mouth, and then ripped open his artery. He then placed his wrist over Freya's mouth and dripped his thick crimson blood onto her lips. She moaned lightly, and then quickly grabbed a hold of his arm and began to feed on him. He let out a rumbling moan of his own, and then picked her up and carried her over to the couches.
“Leave, and take the mutt with you,” he ordered me.
I didn't want to leave Freya, but my body obeyed his orders, while my mind screamed out for my love. I silently picked up Tristan's back paws, and dragged his wolf across the floor and over the mirror's gold frame, and then out if the room. As soon as his head slammed back down onto the corridor floor, the mirror closed behind us, trapping Freya inside with Azael. I put my back up against the wall and then slid down it and onto the floor. I placed my head into my hands, and the guilt flooded through me, as I knew this was all my fault, and hers.
See, Kali was Azael's last plan, how Selene can feel and speak to all her vampires and werewolves, Azael can do the same with hunters. That fateful night that Kali and I met, he knew instantly that she wanted me, and that she wanted to be like me. Her thoughts and desires for me, sealed both of our fates.
“Sam?” Kali questioned as she approached me.
I lifted my head and hissed at her, I then screamed at her,
“Stay away from me, this is all because of you. Freya is his now, and it’s because of you. What have you done?”
