~Erica~

I made my way back to my room and I was fuming. How dare that insufferable brat Anika laugh at me in class thinking she was going to make me the fool in from of Xander, one way or the other she was going to regret it.

I was one the second floor when I spotted one of my father's guards exactly walking out of the hallway that led to Anika's room.

"Hey, what was that about?" I was piqued with so much interest I stopped on my tracks.

"Master Xander ordered me to deliver some food and wine to her room,"

I raised an eyebrow.

Master Xander? What was he playing at? I knew he wasn't her biggest fan, but this seemed odd.

"Food and wine? Why would he do that? Last I checked, Cassidy wasn't exactly his favorite person." My fave contorted with revulsion and I shoot a glare his way.

"I'm just following orders, Miss Erica. I don't ask questions when I'm with him." He forced out.

I don't like the sound of this. Just few hours back he wanted her out of his lecture room and now this?

"You better keep an eye on her. Something's fishy about this. If Master Xander is suddenly being nice to her, it's probably not for any good reason."

"Don't worry, Miss Erica. I'll keep an eye on her more so shouldn't you focus on why your father decided you come here after college, with me I think the last thing you need is to get mixed up in something like this."

"Please, stop peeking into my business. I'm not some naive little girl. If something's going on, I want to know about it." If it wasn't for the task I am giving to him I know I mad at him I ought to be right now since he thinks we are now in the same category and he can speak shitty with me because he's a tiny close with my father.

I stormed into my father's office slamming the door behind me which has him looking up from his papers not surprised.

"What's the matter, now? I've been getting reports about you making a scene in class. I expect better from my daughter." His lips tightened into a white line. Apparantly his last statement as always been his motto.

"Better? You want to talk about better?" I countered and he blinked. "I want to know why Anika got special treatment from Master Xander. She got a fancy food and wine delivered to her room, while I get nothing?"

"What do you mean 'special treatment'?"

He asked his face gradually turning red.

"She's been bragging to everyone about how he sent her a fancy meal and wine, and I want to know why when he never do anything like that for me although I'm your daughter."

I shouldn't be lying but I don't feel bad about it either. I just want my father to do something about this so I can stop losing control. I hated what took place but I know he won't do anything about it.

Being without a mother, I just didn't have anyone else to run to.

I can hear him shouting for me to get back when I walked out of his room, I don't even know who I blindly phoned amongst my friends. It was picked on the third ring.

"I'm coming over to your room." I told her and didn't let her respond before hanging up.

I reached her in no time and freely I bear my heart out at Melissa as it was no more a big news.

"Since you skipped Master Xander's class together I was even thinking about coming to you later on to break the news of how he defended me and took my side and flipped the new girl off to you but the worst must took place just now..."

When her face scrunched up I knew she was as into the topic.

"Happens that the new girl is inside her room dining and wining because for crying out lord why would he ask for a food to be delivered to her just after taking my side in his class?"

"Could it be because of the fear of your father that he took your side?"

I glared at her, "I think it's the other way round and it's my father who fears him."

"Goodness." She rubbed at her face and I just looked away my hand ruffling the same hair I spent hours on because of him.

"Do you think she knows from whom it came from?"

I wanted to speak but stopped because thinking about it, I don't think she was told, if she was...

"If she was it will be so embarrassing to see her now. She's going to see me as the looser, I mean just imagine how much I bragged about the little moment of defense I had with him. She'll definitely point fingers at me and be like 'what an hallucinating creature'"

She brought out a pack of cigarette took one out and lit it up for me before sticking its packet back under the bed where she'd thrusted it out of. It must not be seen.

"What do you have in mind now?" Her hands rubbed my back and if only I can tell her it's a failed attempt trying to calm me down.

"Tears." I flatly said without thinking.
