~Anika~

"Stay back after the class."

If I knew I would be called back when the class ended, that too by Master Xavier, I wouldn't have attended at all because I don't even feel like dealing with anyone.

Yet I went to see him at his desk, anything to get Erica off my neck.

"I'm here." I didn't wait till he would offer me a chair before seating down, far too tired. He glanced at me finally mumbling something under his breath while I try to figure out how he be so different from the second Master, Xander.

Their names are almost matching too, but their personalities are different. He looks cool.

"I noticed you weren't concentrating that much in class. Is there any reason why?" He shifted his seat back and sat, despite that we were eye to eye, I wasn't fazed.

"I never concentrate, truth be told." I said lowering my voice. "It seems you're only just noticing."

Whatever is at the tip of my tongue, I never shy away from saying it.

"Why is that?" He tipped his head back and asked and he doesn't seem offended.

"It's totally because I don't want to." I snorted.

I appreciate his attempt at getting me to talk, however he should understand there doesn't always have to be a reason a person has to do something.

"If you keep that up, I'd be long before you will be released from here. I'm sure you don't want that." He quirked a thick brow and another inhale before I realize he's right but I am not depending on the date of the release any longer.

I was going to find my way out.

"Yes, I understand." I answered giving a stray look at his work as I stood.

"Your name?" He eyed me waiting for a response.

"Anika." I muttered tasting the foreign word on my mouth.

"It's a cool name." He shoots me an impressed look.

My mouth parted before a bout of shocked laughed bursted from my throat.

"Cool name?" I repeated incredulously. It's a lie that I can't even be offended at. "No, it's not."

How I wish there's anything cool about my time. He's probably doing this to lighten the mood.

"I think I should take my leave now." I smiled looking as his hooded eye continued to stare at me. He nodded, twice, and as I left I realized I have never felt so heard.

And the best part is he's a comfort on his own. The conversation couldn't be more than five minutes but he listened, attentively too and we even cracked jokes.

I like that he's cool and he speaks in a way that makes the other person comfortable around him. I wish have another talk with him another day.

"You're late. I was just about going to look for you." The same guard that's always at my door drawled as I neared him. Right, he's stopped following me around like a lost pet.

I don't know who gave him the order but I guess it's a routine to follow the newbies around for a while as they get used to the environment and they most certainly won't try escaping.

I snickered internally, if only they knew.

"You should calm down. If I wanted to run away I would have a long time ago." I stated dryly and instead of going inside, I matched his stance.

Was there not a time I climbed through my window and was out in no time? And I was so stupid to return back here too. I wouldn't have been here at the moment.

"Next time I hope you make sure you report to me first that you will be coming late." He casted an indecipherable look my way but ultimately said.

I sighed loudly, this people and ordering one around. So annoying.

"Whatever." I pushed my door open, ignored him and brushed past.

I have never been one to posses self control and I'm only keeping low because of what's at hand. If that d*ckhead just assumes that I'll follow his every command, well, he's out of his mind.

I changed into a new clothes and a flip-flops before getting into bed. If only I had my phone here with me, I at least won't be this bored.

Teeth pressed on my bottom lip, I looked at the window that will gain me my freedom very soon. I just have to make sure there's a lesser security that day.

I don't know if anyone here has ever nursed my kind of intention and succeeded with it. What did master Xander mean by I shouldn't risk my life if something hadn't taken place.

Should I ask Mabel? No Anika you ain't even friends.

Asking Erica and exposing myself to her isn't ideal either. I will have to go for Mabel but I haven't seen her around and she skipped classes today.

It can't be she's with Jordan can it? That not is plain big playboy and she has to be careful if she wants to hand her heart out to him, he doesn't look the type to thick to her lady.

I realized my door wasn't locked when the doorknob twitched and someone entered without knocking.

"Who the hell are you—" I stopped, it's Erica. She's panting, pointing at my face as she rasped breathlessly. "What magic did you work on Master Xavier?"
