Chapter 26: Six Years Ago pt. 20

Xander stormed out of the hospital ignoring the splitting headache and numbness of his limbs.

He stopped the very first car that he saw on the street.

"Wait, what are you—" The driver was bewildered as he was thrown outside of his own vehicle by Xander.

Xander immediately hopped on inside and the tires screeched as he drove away at full speed.

"My car!" He helplessly tried to chase it but it was too late and Xander was far already.

Luckily, there were little people at that time so the scene didn't caused a lot of commotion.

Xander gripped the steering wheel tightly and maneuvered it towards the address of his target.

When he was halfway he suddenly remembered something.
"The bracelet!" He then parked the car for a while and pressed the screen of his other pair of the bracelet. It suddenly lit up and coordinates began appearing on its tiny screen. He checked it with the one sent to him and it matched.

"She's really at his hands." After that numbers also showed on the screen after he swiped it to the right. It was her body temperature and heartbeat rate.
"Thirty degrees celsius and sixty beats per minute." He murmured as he read. "Her vital signs are fine." He sighed in relief.

His lips tightened as he continued driving. It felt like years before he reached his destination.

The address brought him into aa remote area almost five hundred meters away from the highway.

What stood in front of him was a deserted building whose construction wasn't finished. It was left to rot in that desolate piece of land far from society.

Xander treaded his steps carefully as he approached the entrance.

A man jumped on him just right after he entered an landed a blow on his abdomen.

He growled in pain as he exchanged punches with the man. He was big and muscular that in every punch that Xander throws on his body creates pounding sound.

Sweat dripped from Xander's brows as he ascended the stairs leading to the second floor after cleaning the men on the first.

His lungs surging as he clenched his fist and made a stance preparing to fight again.

This time, he used not only his hands but also his legs to to counter their attacks.

His punches and kicks thuds against the flesh of the opponents knocking them out of his way.

After clearing the second floor, he came to the third and final one. On this floor where cemented pillars stood, and another bunch of men ready to take him down are present, what caught his eyes was the boss of the gang—Pablo Garcia. He was standing at the very far end of the room, beside him was an unconscious Rian tied up in a chair.

His nose flared, he took a deep breath filling his lungs with oxygen as roared his attack. He run towards her rescue like a madman shoving anyone that stood on his way—breaking their bones, twisting their joints leaving them out of action.

And behold, he solely stood in the midst of his knocked out opponents om his feet.

Pablo who was standing there watching everything in entertainment.

"You're one hell of a monster Xander." He stood there grinning like a devil. "Impressive!" He clapped his hands to show his admiration.

"Let her go, she knows nothing of this." Xander growled as he turned to him with piercing eyes.

"Looks like she's really that important to you, isn't she." Pablo's devilish laugh echoed in the entire floor.

Xander heard a clacking sound and saw Pablo aim a gun at Rian's head.

"If you don't want me to plant a bullet on her skull, hurry up and surrender yourself." Pablo demanded smirking menacingly at Xander who's looking straight at Rian with his darkened expression and gritted teeth.

He closed his eyes and exhaled heavily. "Let her go." He raised his both hands in the air in sign of his surrender.

"Perfect", Pablo put down his gun and slowly walked to Xander. His dark eyes glimmered in the dark as a his lips twitched into a dangerous smile.

The moment he was able to reach him with his fist, Pablo didn't wasted any second and casted a destructive punch on Xander's stomach.

Xander bent his lower body feeling the excruciating pain. All the of the painful sensations that was pent up on came creeping out into his body seeping into every muscle that was bruised because of the brawl he got into earlier.

He was down on his one knee when Pablo kicked his face mercilessly that sent him down flat into the ground.

He coughed and tasted the coppery tang of blood in his mouth.

"C'mon dude, stand up. This isn't fun if you'll just lie there." Pablo mocked as he took his steps towards him.

He began kicking Xander in the torso that produced loud thuds everytime his leather shoes strikes him.

Xander coughed, he was out of breath and is in anguish with every hit he receives. He closed his eyes as he can indistinctly hear Pablo's taunting at the back of his ears.

"Stand up Xander!"
"Are you gonna lay down here forever."
"You aren't like this when you beat the hell out of me before."
"Stand up you fool!"

He was dying to fight back but he can't thinking that that was the only way to keep her safe. He's not that fragile to die from a beating anyway. He has suffered more while living in the underworld.

-Please wake up now Rian. This time I hope you would ignore me and run away for your life.
