The coward:

Ghost Beach, Brac Island.
Seven days after witnesses heard the shots fired at the Dracùl Haus hotel.

Vlad:
If Olenka hadn't acted fast, Eleni would really be dead.
I've had a week to reflect on my actions. My behavior at that time was appalling. I blocked. I just coudn´t hear, I coudn't see. My mind was not in the present but in the past. Panic overtook me, and she was almost gone, because of me.
It was my fault. The first time was also my fault. I caught a little dove used to being free and locked her in a golden cage.
I should have let her go live in peace in the house in Edirne, I should have noticed the sadness in her gray eyes, and I should have let her go. But my jealousy wouldn't let me. Many times, during those months that I kept her prisoner in the tower, I thought that I would rather see her dead than hear her of belonging to someone else´s.
I had no idea how stupid I was until that terrible day, when I saw her fall, from the tower window and die, a part of me died with her.
— You are a coward! - She yells at me.
She has opened her eyes. I breathe a sigh of relief. Light filters through the window, making her red hair glow like flames. She looks at me with hatred, she looks at me with fury and I have never seen her more sensual.
She disappears and I follow her. She materializes on the beach, barefoot and wearing the dress Olenka put on her. The vampiress has been a wonderful godmother of death, she selected the garments for the awakening. Eleni owes her new existence to Olenka.
— What have you done to me, Vlad?- she asks with a trembling voice.- What happened to me?
—There was no time. Olenka gave you her blood, she had faith that you would resist, but your heart stopped. You are one of us, now.

She falls to her knees on the sand, hiding her face in her hands. She cries inconsolably, I want to go and hug her. But I can not.
—You are a b*stard! Look what you did to me! - She throws herself at me furiously, hits my chest with her fists, spits on me and slaps me.
— I adored you! I had eyes nor heart for anyone else! - She yells in my face. - And what did you do? You swallowed all of Justina's lies. You believed everything your mother told you! And you locked me in that damn place.

She slaps me again, this time on the opposite cheek from the one she hit first. I narrow my eyes, and take her insane hands in mine, imprisoning her wrists.
—Elennah?-I whisper looking into her eyes, overwhelmed.
— Yes! - She bites her lip and bursts into tears again. - No.
He looks away from me, looking down the beach.
—Eleni? - I try again.
— I dont know. I'm confused. I don't even know who I am anymore. - She sobs and I release her hands. He tries to wipe his face with them, sniffing the tears through her nose.
I take a step back, considering if it's best if we go back inside the hotel.
—Why did you do it Vlad? - Her expression changes abruptly, her voice is hoarse, like that of a demon. Her face has contorted and she shows me her fangs. I'm fighting two different women- why did you lock me in that damn tower?!
—You were going to leave me. You were going to leave with Corvino.
She laughs out loud, opening her eyes like crazy.
— Is that what they told you? - She surrounds me threateningly. She is furious, she is a beast and her beast has awakened mine.
— I heard you. - I growl showing her my fangs and adopting a defensive posture. - I heard when Corvino asked you to go with him and you answered that you would think about it.
—Oh. - She adopts a mocking expression. – I´m such a fool. Of course you would come to the conclusion that I wanted to run away to be with my so-called lover, right? Days later I was stupid enough to ask you to let me go to Edirne, when I should have run for my life without warning you! – She barks.
— What did you expect me to do? I was desperate, I didn't want to lose you.
— Lose me? - She laughs again cynically. - You lost me the same day Justina walked through the door.
—You always blamed me for your inability to give me children.
— How dare you! - She bellows throwing me another slap, I dodge it but I hit her. My hand connects against her cheek and I swear it hurt me more than her. Her eyes widen, her pupils dilate, licking her lips with delight and lunging at me. This time she kisses me, hungryly, eagerly, desperately. She kisses me because she's wanted to for centuries.
— I loved you like a fool.- breaks the kiss and sobs against my lips.
— You attempted to poison me. - I protest.
Her gray eyes fill with tears.
— No. I would never have done such a thing. - She gasps, breathless. - It wasn't me, Vlad, I'm innocent. If only you had filled yourself with courage and instead of locking me up you had confronted me, I would have told you...

She strokes my hair between her fingers, looking into my eyes. She presses our lips together and kisses me again. I can't resist her, I pull her against me, hard. As I devour her mouth, I run my hands over her body and squeeze her buttocks between my palms.
I pick her up and carry her, until I fall on the bed, ripping her dress to rags and possessing her. Prisoner of a blind lust, of an uncontrolled desire, of a desire for her that hundreds of years have not been able to quench.
She moves under me like crazy, alternating between angry Elennah and tearful Eleni. Calling my name, moving her hips, entwining her legs behind my back and moaning shamelessly. When we are already sweaty, and almost insane with pleasure, her eyes flash with malevolence.
—There's only one way to know what I want. - She whispers, sinking her fangs into my neck and sucking me greedily.
I gasp, it's an indescribable feeling. Before I think too much about it, I stick mine in her neck and drink from her too, it's forbidden. In our world, what we are doing is a crime, but we don't care.
The universe begins to spin at supersonic speed, stopping suddenly, leaving me unconscious.

Eleni:
Inside my head the memories of three people stir, Elennah, innocent, unjustly imprisoned, murdered for knowing a terrible secret.
Vlad, tormented, torn between the most blinding of loves, feigning a marriage for benefits with a peasant when in reality he cannot live without her.
Among the memories of both is me, the reincarnation of his first wife. Flipping the puzzle pieces in this or that direction until they fit into place.
I open my eyes slowly. The afternoon light dyes everything in shades of orange and red. Vlad is sitting on the edge of the bed, looking at me with an expression of infinite sadness.
—You've seen it. - I whisper.
Vlad compresses his face, closing his eyes tightly.
— My cowardice cost you your life, little dove.- sobbing. - You were killed by my own mother.
