Chapter thirteen

Stella.
Her body felt heavy, Her heart was beating really fast, Stella could hear her heart skip when she heard a footstep, Stella tried her best to open her eye but she couldn’t it felt like her eyes were glued together. Stella wanted to stand up but she couldn’t, she wanted to talk but it felt like her lips were sealed, she tried to move her hands but she couldn’t, she tried to move her legs but all efforts went to vain. Whatever Stella laid on felt like a rock, she knew she wasn’t tied because her fingers could move but other than that she couldn’t move any part of her body. Her head felt heavy as if something really hard was kept on it.
“Where I'm I?, What is happening?.” Stella shouted.
“Hello, how is my little friend doing?” a soft voice said. The voice sounded really calm, but it felt demonic, the aura that voice gave sent chills down Stella’s voice. Stella couldn’t understand where she heard that voice from?, It sounded so familiar.
“Who are you?, What do you want from me.” Stella asked the voice.
“Don’t be scared, I will never hurt you, you are someone close to me.” The voice said again, she was surprised on how the voice was really calm, it sounded like that calm before the loud thunder.
“What do you mean?, Who are you?”. Stella asked the voice again.
“You don’t have to understand, you will soon know me, you will be with me forever.” The voice said.
“Who are you?, Please let me go I promise I won ‘tell any one anything.” Stella said to the voice. This time she didn’t get an answer, she got a laugh, a loud demonic laugh. The laugh continued till she began hearing it in her head.
“Stop it, stop it.” Stella shouted. The laugh continued and continued.” Stop it I can’t take it any more.” Stella shouted. This time the voice stopped, Stella felt her eyes open slowly, she tried to adjust to the lighting of the room, when she finally got her eyes open she saw the person that kept her prison.
“You” Stella said before she collapsed on the floor.

Stella was laid on a hospital bed, with a drip attached to her hand, When Aaron got home he saw her laid on the floor, he quickly called the ambulance and got her to the hospital. Stella opened her eyes, She tried to adjust her eye sight to the lighting of the room when she finally adjusted her eyes, she saw herself in the hospital with a doctor standing over her while smiling. The man looked rather young, he looked like he was in his early thirties, the white lab coat really looked good on him. His baby blue eyes said a lot of innocence, his bushy eye browns, a freckle on his left cheek, his hair was jet black, and a small dimple that showed every time he smiled. There a nurse next to the doctor, she looked smaller than him in size but much elder than him in age, she looked like she was in her middle forties, the blue shirt and trouser looked good on her, she wore a pair of glasses that made her look smart, she stood near the doctor with a notepad and a pen with her.
“Hello, how do you feel?”. The doctor said.
“Why I'm I here, where is Aaron.” Stella said while panicking.
“You fainted ma'am but you are alright.” The doctor said.
“How long was I out.” Stella asked.
“For seven hours.” The doctor said.
“I have been unconscious for a over seven hours, so I have been out for almost a day, I slept through till the next day. Where is Aaron? Who brought me here?, Why I'm I on drip.” Stella asked.
“Calm down, Your husband is outside I will call him.” The doctor said. The nurse standing next to the doctor stepped out to call Aaron.
“What happened to me doctor?.” Stella asked. “Is my baby okay?”.
“Your baby is fine.” The doctor said. Stella felt relieved when she heard that, few months later Aaron came into the room.
“Baby Lord you scared me, How do you feel?” He asked worriedly he said while giving her a kiss on her forehead, he quickly took a seat next to her bed and held her hand.
“I am fine.” Stella said.
“What happened?, I found you on the floor.” Aaron said worriedly.
“I can’t remember, after we talked on the phone I can’t remember what happened next.” Stella said.
“It okay baby, don’t stress yourself.” Aaron said.
“What happened to me?”. Stella asked.
“You are just stressed, I advice you avoid stress especially when you are pregnant.” The doctor said.
“Oh, but is the baby fine.” Aaron asked.
“Yes your baby is healthy, your wife is in her one month, I advice she should register for pre-natal.” The doctor said with a smile on his face.
“Okay she will doctor.” Aaron said, he was relived knowing that Stella and his baby are fine. He kept his hand on her stomach. “I love you guys so much, never scare me like this.” Aaron said to Stella.
“I’m sorry, I should have been more careful.” Stella said with tears in her eyes, her hormones were messing with her, she had no idea why she wanted to cry?.
“It okay baby, come on give me a smile.” Aaron said.
She gave Aaron a weak smile, “I made you worried didn’t I.” Stella asked.
“Yes Baby, I thought something happened to you, I can’t lose you, you are the only one I have.” Aaron said.
“I am sorry.” Stella said.
“”Stop apologizing Baby, I am good now I am happy you are fine.” Aaron said.
“Alright if you say so.” Stella said.
They were lost I their thoughts when the doctor spoke.
“will you guys like to have an ultrasonography of your baby.” The doctor said.
“What is that?” Stella asked.
“ultrasonography is the use of ultrasound to produce diagnostics images of the internal organs of the fetus” The doctor said.
Stella and Aaron looked at him confused. “ speak English doctor.” Stella said.
“oh my apologizes ultrasonography is where you will hear the heartbeat and see the fetus.” The doctor explained to them.
“Yes, I want to see that.” Stella said with a smile on her face. “Aaron I want to hear our baby's heart beat.”
“Alright, when can we book an appointment.” Aaron asked.
“I am free right now, the nurse would set up the room and we could do it now if you are ready.” The doctor said.
“We will do it now.” Aaron said. Stella couldn’t contain her happiness, she was so happy.
Few minutes later the nurse has Stella up the room, the machine was kept near Stella, the doctor stood near the machine and turned it on, he raised Stella’s top exposing her stomach and placed the tube on it. It make a little sound.
“Now look into the screen, you will see your fetus.” The doctor said. He placed the tube all around her stomach, hearing the heartbeat of my baby, Stella had tears in her eyes, she looked over to Aaron to see him fighting back his tears.
“The sound is beautiful, our baby sounds so healthy” Stella said.
“I know baby, I love the sound of our baby.” Aaron said.
Stella looked into the screen but couldn’t see her baby. “ I can’t see anything doctor.” Stella said.
“Just a minute.” The doctor said. The restarted the machine and placed the tube k Stella’s stomach yet Notting showed ,they could hear the heart beat but they couldn’t see the baby .
“Why is it not showing.” Aaron asked.
“Is everything okay doctor.” Stella asked
“I think the machine is broke, The baby isn’t showing.” The doctor said. “ I will have it fixed, how about you guys come back on Wednesday then we can try this again.”
“Okay doctor, when will Stella be discharged.” Aaron asked.
“By tomorrow morning I will like to conduct some tests , I will prescribe some medicine she needs to take and I will like if you come sign the documents, make sure she eats well and she doesn’t stress herself and she would be fine.” The doctor said.
“Okay doctor.” He looked over the Stella who seemed really worried.” Baby our baby is fine, the doctor will fix the machine and we will see the baby okay, quite worrying.”
“I am not worried, I am fine.” Stella said.
“Liar, just listen to me quite worrying, I will be back in a minute, I will just sign some papers and come, promise me you will remain calm, do you want me to get you something to eat” Aaron said.
“I promise, just get me some fruits and juice..” Stella said. Aaron gave her a kiss on her forehead before he left. Stella stood up trying to figure out what was happening?, if she was fine why was she on drip? She thought. She realized that she was still wearing her clothes from this morning, she adjusted her bed and rested her head on the pillow, she took a look at the room. The white walls the white floors the small television that was hanged right opposite the bed, small couch that was kept across the room, a small stool by the side of the bed the whole room was highly air conditioned, there was a water dispenser that was near the small sink the room. The room was spacious, everything was neatly arranged.
Stella tried to recall what happened before she fainted? But she couldn’t remember anything, the last thing she could recall was speaking to Aaron on the phone then after that everything went blank.
“I got you fruit salad. baby.” A voice said, Stella turned to see Aaron with a tray, he had a smile on his face that said a lot. Stella adjusted her bed so she could be able to sit up.
“Thank you baby.” Stella said, Aaron kept a small table right in front of her and placed the tray on it. The food looked yummy, it was a beautiful fruit salad, with apples, grapes, milk, strawberry, blueberry and a juice by the side.
“Eat baby.” Aaron said. Stella picked up her food and began eating, she was really hungry though, she was eating when she remembered something.
“Aaron I saw a very weird woman today when I went for groceries, She gave me this creep feeling.” Stella said.
“Did she talk to you?” Aaron asked.
“No, I left we were the only ones in the bus and she kept glaring at me till the bus stopped.” Stella said.
“There seem to be a lot of creeps in this town, Don’t worry yourself I am sure she is just one of those creeps.” Aaron said.
“tell me about it!, I hate been stared at.” Stella said.
“every one does.” Aaron said.
“So how was work?, How was your first day?.” Stella asked.
“It went well, the staffs seem nice, the food is amazing and the customers don’t complain about the food.”
“Seriously you still remember that, I mean it been so long.” Stella said.
“How could I ever forget?, I met the love of my life that day, you know some times I thank that chef for making your food horrible.” Aaron said with a smile on his face.
Stella let out a laugh. “Yes I guess we do have to thank that chef.”
“Yes baby.” Aaron said.
