Chapter fifteen

this is the continuation of the previous chapter. I could not complete it becuase of the word count.
Josephine sat on the floor of her bathroom, she couldn’t believe her father would do that, he wants to ruin her life, she needed her mother to talk him out of it, she needed to make him believe she will change and his way is not the out way. She was in the bathroom for more than thirty minutes, she was getting tired and fed up, she stood up to wash her face, she looked into the mirror to see a whole different person, she looked terrible, those puffy eyes, red nose, her face was dirty from all the tears, she watched her face for over a minute until she decided to wash it off. Once she was done she stepped out of the bathroom and decided to go for breakfast, Stepping out of her room she heard a loud noise coming from downstairs followed by a loud voice.
“I am not having this conversation right now Emily.” The voice said. Josephine could recognize that voice from anywhere, it was her father and he sounded really angry. She ran downstairs to be met by her mother, her mother was on the floor crying.
“Mamma, Mamma what happened?” Josephine asked with concern written all over her face.
“I am okay honey, help me stand up.” Her mother said, Josephine gave her a hand and sat her down on one of their couch.
“Mamma are you okay, let me get you water.” Josephine said. She ran to the kitchen and got her mother water.” Here Mamma.” Josephine said while handing the water over.
“I am really okay Jose, I am fine.” Her mother said.
“No you are not, I heard Father’s voice her seemed angry, where is he?” Josephine asked.
“He left, I spoke to him.” Her mother said.
“What did he say?, Will he change his mind.” Josephine asked.
“Hopefully, Just don’t mess up and make sure you don’t make him angry.” Her mother said.
“I love you Mamma.” Josephine said while hugging her mother.
“Love you baby.” Her mother said. “now get ready to leave, you have school I am sure you don’t want your father to find out you haven’t left yet.”
“I know Mamma, I have school I will soon leave. “Josephine said.
“Okay.”
Josephine quickly ran upstairs and got dressed, she had to make sure she stays in her Father’s good books if she wants him to change his mind. She took some money and booked a cab for school. It was already the third period when she arrived at school, she begged the security man to allow her to enter and after a thousand begging and explaining why she was late? He finally allowed her to enter. The whole school was quite, the hallway was empty, she walked to her locker and kept her bag, she got out her English textbook when she heard a hand closed her locker roughly. The locker made a loud noise when closed, She looked up to see one of the people she hated the most.
Britney. Britney was standing alone, her two sidekicks were not with her today.
“What the hell?” Josephine said. ‘what the fuck is wrong with you.’
‘aww little Jose is cursing, are you mad?’ Britney said while making a baby voice to mock Josephine.
‘aren’t you supposed to be in class, just fuck off Britney.’ Josephine said while trying to walk away but Britney was blocking her way.
‘I don’t want to fight you Britney, just stay away from me.’ Josephine said.
‘Jose, let not be rude.’ Britney said.
‘Shut.the.fuck.up. Britney’ Josephine said angrily, she was trying not to loose her temper, she didn’t want to start a fight.
“Come one Britney are you this lonely that you are begging for my attention, come one where are your sidekick?, What happened?, Did they abandon you like all your boyfriends did?” Josephine said confidently.
Britney let out a short laugh, she looked annoyed from what Josephine said it seemed to have affected her. “Jose if I were you I would keep quite and at least I have had boyfriends unlike some of us that are not even noticed by the guys.” Britney said.
“Leave me alone Britney, you know what I would just leave I can’t stand here and have this childish discussion with you.” Josephine said, she was about to leave when Britney said something that made her stop.
‘Come on Jose, don’t ruin the fun, I am sure the whole school would love to know why you are late?’ Britney said.
‘What do you mean?.’ Josephine asked.
“You know what I mean Jose, you know what your Father wants.” Britney said.
“I have no Idea what you are talking about.” Josephine said.
‘Come on, I know what daddy wants to do, Your daddy thinks the best for you.’ Britney said.
“Just shut up and leave me alone Britney.” Josephine said.
“Aww come on I am sure you will obey your father, I mean daddy knows the best doesn’t he.” Britney said.
“you know what Britney just Shut the fuck up and stay away from me and You can tell everyone anything you want I don’t care Bitch.” Josephine said while pushing her out of the way. Josephine had no idea how Britney knew what was happening?, she don’t care if the whole school knew, it didn’t bother her at all. She walked into the class avoiding all whispering and bad glances she got from her classmates. She sat on the back seat where she usually sat down?, not wanting to look at the people seating next to her.
The English class was boring, Josephine maintained herself the whole day in school, she avoided Britney and her side kicks, Josephine didn’t want to create a scene or the get reported to her father for any bad thing, she had to maintain herself if she wanted him to change his mind so after school she left immediately sneaking pass every one to avoid fighting with Britney. She walked out of school with her bag hanged on one hand, she was walking back home because she didn’t have any transport back home and she didn’t want to take the school bus today. She followed the quite alley, it was a shortcut to her house, the alley was known for criminals and bad activities, The alley smelt of sweat, men, guns and drugs, every where was painted in different colors, trash we’re thrown on the floor making the environment more dirty, people mostly avoided the place, she just needed to go home, she looked down while walking avoiding any eye contact and avoiding everyone around her. She took the left turn which lead directly to her neighborhood, it was really quite when she took that turn, she felt as if someone was following her but when she turned they was no one there, It was like every time she takes a step she hears the sound of another step that wasn’t hers, Josephine was already scared, she ran and ran to avoid who ever was following her, she had no dies where she was going? She kept running until she bumped into a someone, a girl that looked about her age.
“Hey why are you running? Are you okay?.” The girl asked in her thick British accent.
“I think some one is following me.” Josephine said while trying to catch her breath.
“There is no one there, are you sure you are okay.” The girl asked again.
“I was at the alley, Some one was following me I couldn’t turn to check.” Josephine said.
“There is no one here, Are you okay?” The girl asked again.
“Yes I am maybe I am imagining things.” Josephine said. Josephine took a look at her environment, she realized she has already arrived home, she was standing in her neighborhood. “I am fine, Thank you.”
“You are welcome.” The girl said with a smile on her face, she waved a good bye at Josephine before she left.
