Chapter 11

CHAPTER 11

"YEON-HEE got another field work today. The girl is extremely busy. Ah, well... once you're newly mated, work seems so easy when you have a person to get home to." Jeffrey's colleague stared at Cedric's office for a moment. "I wonder if the boss has someone in his arms too..."

Another one chimed in. "Isn't Ria one of his beck and call? I heard them doing the deed in the storage room yesterday."

Jeffrey stopped from sipping his coffee. He coughed uncontrollably before asking, "What? Come again?"

"Oh, our prince here is incredibly innocent. Hey, Jeff, don't get too close with our secretary. Seems like our boss has taken quite a fancy to her. I can hear them having sex from time to time— well, you know our Cedric. He got the reputation and the penis to boot."

'Was it really okay to bad-mouth him like this?' Jeffrey's hand feels cold and dry. He couldn't feel the warmth of the cup in his hands. "I don't care about boss but isn't this bad for Ria's reputation? Well, Cedric is the boss in here. She would most likely not in the place to say no."

The two women glanced at each other before laughing at him. "My god, Jeff! You're indeed a precious bun. Ria is a known dancer at a pleasure house near this building. When she was introduced to us, we instantly know that she'd been hired for two jobs and not solely as a secretary of this office."

'So only I remained clueless?' Jeffrey tossed his cup in the trash and excused himself. "He's entitled to bed the woman he likes especially when the said woman herself agrees to it." He shrugs. "I have to take a break for a while. My headache's acting up."

"Maybe you drink a lot last night." One of the women smiled at him meaningfully. "Was the jack that good or was it the women that made you sway, Jefferson Duvas?"

Jeffrey grinned at their antics and played along. "I'd like to say it's the jack but that would be lying."

They giggled at his response. Jeffrey waved for a moment before going on his way. He went past the narrow hallway before taking a swift turn to the building's restroom.

No one's inside. He chose a random cubicle. Jeffrey bent over the bowl and puked.

It hurt his eyes and nose.

'God,it doesn't feel good.' He was glad that he didn't take breakfast this morning.

Jeffrey emptied his stomach before facing himself at the mirror. It horrified him to see the redness of his eyes. His nose were the same hue as his cheeks. His mouth reddened with his forceful bite to it.

He looked unruly.

Jeff washed the insides of his mouth. He splashed some water to his face before wetting his hair slightly to make it stay in place.

He made sure that he looked presentable enough before getting out of the restroom.

He fished his phone and dialed his friend's number. "Hey... you didn't call me last night. Did you had any problems getting home?"

"Nah, man. I'm good. Thanks for the treat last night. Shit. My stomach hurts."

Jeff laughed and sympathised with him. "Would you like me to order some soup for delivery? I'll have it sent to your place."

"That okay? I wouldn't refuse that, Jeff. I'm starving at the moment."

"Okay, I'll place an order now. I'll call you later. Bye—" Jeff unintentionally let go of the phone. It clanked noisily on the floor.

Cedric turned to the origin of the sound. Ria panicked beside him and frantically lowered her skirt that has ridded up to her waist. Her lipstick smudged with the rest on Cedric's mouth. His eyes were red— angry. The man was angry.

Jeffrey heard the sound of glass breaking somewhere. He didn't bother searching where did it came from and bent to get his cell. "I'm sorry for disturbing the both of you."

Cedric huffed. "Get lost. Now."

Ria smiled all cutesy at Jeffrey. He pursed his lips and moved his feet. He didn't respond. 'Just pretend that you didn't see anything.'

When Jeffrey thought he can forget about what he had just witnessed, Cedric stopped his wrist. He threatened him, "Don't tell anyone."

"What?" Jeffrey stared at his eyes straight and continued, "I saw nothing."

Cedric's eyes flickered with dismay. In the end, he hissed, "Keep your word… or else."

Jeffrey can feel something inside him hurt. He refused to blink and carefully reiterated his point, "I saw nothing."

'Even if I did, everybody knew about the two of you anyway. What's the use of warning me to shut up?'

The man finally let go of him. Jeffrey was still confused. He sprinted before Cedric can reprimand him with his bout of insult.

'Why…' Jeffrey's mouth slacked open as he found it hard to breathe. 'I shouldn't have exerted that much strength.'

He stopped when he's far enough from his boss. Jeffrey gasped. 'I shouldn't have… drink a lot last night.'

His eyes was wet from running. It wasn't that far. How come I'm so tired?

Jeffrey closed his eyes. He ignored the fact that tears were running down his cheeks. Jeff thought that he's feeling the early signs of aging. 'I should stop my unhealthy lifestyle. I should stop drinking every night. I should stop… feeling this constant pain in my chest.'

Jeffrey saw his wide-eyed appearance in the reflection from the glass door. It was as though he saw a ghost.

'Why am I… hurting?'

RIA crowned herself a queen for her insatiable lust towards pleasure itself. She made it her job once she decided that it's what makes her feel powerful the most. She only sleeps with those clients that were her type. And she never settle anything for less.

Out of her chosen clients, only one person manages to dry her up until she's thoroughly satisfied— Cedric Mallory.

It was not a secret from her that he's a hybrid.

'Maybe that's why he can catch up with my stamina.' Ria struggled to breathe as Cedric gnawed on her lips. "Wa-wait…"

A low growl echoed in the empty hallway. Ria should be thrilled that Cedric wants her this much but honestly, she felt scared.

Cedric was never like this before.

There were odd days in which he seeks her for mutual satiety but his demeanor had always been controlled and even unfeeling.

This amount of want from him… Ria has never experienced this before.

"How about we… we change our location?" Ria suggested, "My place. We can continue this at my place."

She wasn't the type to invite her men into her personal space. It's a recipe for a disaster once she gets tired of them and they want to stick around.

Cedric didn't respond and continued to nible on her chest. Ria struggled to find a way to reason with him when he finally murmured a response.

"…your lips, why is it so red? Are you purposely doing that for me?" he whispered, "Your face… always makes me lose it."

Ria laughed. "I didn't know you had these thoughts for me, Cedric."

"Why?" He sighed. Lost was the man with the bloodshot eyes and possessive aura. His expression became normal and cold. He straightened his suit. "All you had to do is stay away from me… why did you have to appear in front of me and make my other half lose it?"

Ria didn't hear everything clearly. She thought the man was complaining about her demands. "You're a boss, and it's inappropriate to do this in the hallway. How can you be like this?"

"Hmn…" He glanced at her. Ria was shocked to find no emotion in his eyes. Gone was the Cedric who wanted her so badly. "Thank you. Fix yourself before signing in."

"You… you too."

'What happened?' Ria wondered as she lowered her sight to his crotch. 'He… he wasn't even turned on. What the hell?'
