11 elixir girl

Other side

“Are you sure that the human girl is the descendant of Sierra, the one we’ve been looking for?” the woman asked, her voice laced with a hint of urgency. “It’s been a century, so her reincarnation must have been born already.”

“Yes, Mom,” the young man said, his voice filled with a sense of certainty. “According to our subject, she is definitely the reincarnation we’ve been looking for, the one who drank the elixir.”

“So what are you waiting for?” the woman said, her voice now laced with impatience. “Go and kidnap the girl so we can use her blood again for the rest of her life. Like we’ve been doing ever since we found out she drank the elixir.”

“I’m sorry Mom, but I think it would be hard this time,” the young man said, his voice laced with a touch of hesitation. “Since a prince of the pure-blooded is lingering around her.”

“What! No!” the woman exclaimed, her voice laced with panic. “We have to do something! Our blood supply that we got from the last elixir girl is almost gone. How can we fight over those pure-blooded, find enough food and stay in the sun for too long without the girl’s blood? You must do something!”

“I’m aware of that Mom,” the young woman said, her voice calm, but laced with a determined edge. “I promise to do everything in my power to get the girl. Now that the throne is soon to be passed to the prince, we have to do something to be more powerful for that day, since all pure-blooded are weaker that time because they wouldn’t drink any blood for the whole day.”

“I hope that you already have a plan Tanya,” the woman said, her voice laced with a hint of worry.

“I do have Mom, don’t worry,” Tanya said, her voice confident. “But please allow me to use more of the blood of the last elixir girl left to fulfill my plan perfectly.”

The Madam of the non-pure vampires thought before giving her daughter a yes.

“But make sure it would be useful,” the woman said, her voice laced with caution. “Remember that we are running out of that kind of blood. That’s why we have to find the elixir girl every time she’s been reincarnated to be our slave and forever source of power. Those pure-blooded shouldn’t know about her so be careful.”

I was still scared, yet for some reason, Raige’s presence calmed me. Yes, there was a part of me that was still annoyed with him. But earlier, when he saved me from Hilda, I felt a sense of relief, knowing that at least someone was there for me. Ever since my sister left, no one at school had protected me from bullies, so when I started college, I made sure to be invisible to others and be extra nice so no one would hate me. Actually, I only had one friend in this big school, and she was different from the others. She was a nerd, though she was the daughter of one of the richest families. I sighed and looked out the window, remembering my sister. Some students were playing soccer on the field, but I stopped looking when I saw a random girl standing on the sidelines, looking in my direction. Was she looking at me? Weird…

“Did you hurt yourself, Lea?” Raige whispered into my ear, his voice sending a shiver down my spine, especially the way he shortened my name.

“I’m asking you if you hurt yourself?”

I sighed. “Look, Raige, thank you for saving me, but really, I’m okay. Whatever scratches I got from Hilda will heal in a few days.”

“I just care about you,” he said, his voice laced with concern. “Is it hard to answer me?”

I looked into Raige’s eyes to answer, but it seemed like I was seeing something strange in them. It looked like they were slowly turning reddish or black, I don’t know, maybe it was the sunlight?

“What’s happening to your eyes?” I asked, my voice laced with a touch of concern.

Raige just closed his eyes, and a second later, they were back to normal.

The bell rang, and all of the students rushed out, including Raige, leaving me stunned.

All of a sudden, I was worried that Hilda and her minions would come after me again.

I cursed a hundred times as I walked towards my car. After my anger subsided and we were sitting, I noticed the smell of Sierra’s blood, I mean Aliyah’s. Her blood was driving me crazy. For the first time in my life, I almost lost control. I’m not usually like this, never. I’m always in control when it comes to blood. So it was crazy that I was acting like this.

A knock on my car window brought me back to reality. I gritted my teeth as I saw who it was.

I slid down my window.

“Leon.” He was Lothian’s brother, the one who had hated me for as long as I could remember. He blamed me for his brother’s death. Though deep inside, I knew I was the one who caused it, I couldn’t admit to anyone. What happened that night had to be a secret. I wasn’t afraid of punishment, but I was afraid that if anyone found out that Sierra had taken the elixir, her perfect human life that she had been wanting would be ruined.

“What’s your game this time, Raige?” Leon said sarcastically. “Why did you come back? I thought you were gone forever.”

“I thought so too,” I said, my voice laced with a hint of weariness. “But I had to come back. The throne is about to be passed to me, and soon, I’ll be your king. Whether you hate me or blame me for your brother’s death, we can’t remove the fact that I will be the soon-to-be king that you have to obey.”

“Do you think that I’ll do that?” Leon said, his voice dripping with disdain. “I mean, obey you? The one who sent my brother to his death? Nope, not in this life. I promise to ruin every happiness of yours.”

“Whatever,” I said, ending the conversation, my voice filled with a dismissive tone. “Do it as if you can.”

“Oh, you believe I can’t?” Leon said, his voice laced with a dangerous edge. “Then watch me.”

I sighed. It was obvious that he didn’t want this to end.

“Is that a threat?” I replied, my voice laced with a challenge.

“Whatever you prepare for,” Leon said before turning around, leaving me with a sense of foreboding.

I knew this homecoming would be a huge risk, a lot of things I should face. Things that I had run away from centuries ago, things that I was afraid to face. But not anymore. Now that I had seen Sierra, and I could have her in my life again, everything would be worth facing.
