Chapter 14
“Serve the Master for one night.”
“And after that?”
“Kill him.”
The idea of killing the Master with my own hands was gratifying for me. It was like music to my ears. But what were the chances of succeeding? He had dozens of men at his command in Bangkok. Neither did I know the reason for his presence in Bangkok.
Had it anything to do with me or Sherry? Or did he have ties to anyone here?
I was sure he was a difficult target to take down. He had to be a powerful figure to lead the mafia. With my weakness right now, I could barely brandish a knife, much less kill the Master with it.
“That doesn’t seem possible in one night,” I said calmly.
“Not in just one night. Darin wants him dead. You just need to seduce him and find an opportunity to kill him in the future. If you fail tonight, we will help you with your training. One day, he will fall into our hands. You just need to stay alive. From what I understand about him, he is a ruthless man.”
“I don’t have a choice in this, right?” I smiled deeply, my eyes twinkling brightly. “Because I, too, want him dead. He caused my misery.”
She leaned close to me and kissed me on the cheek. “I know, Piper. Because I was like you once. Young and innocent. Darin marked me as his property. He forced me and ruined my innocence. But now, I have grown to love him. You can’t fall for the Master. He needs to die.”
I looked at my reflection in the full body mirror in her room as I unclasped my bra and pulled down my panties, putting on the seductive matching set of lingerie she gave me to wear under the dress she readied for me.
It was slightly translucent and hinted at what I was wearing underneath. She guided me to sit before the dresser as she applied makeup to my face and pulled my hair into a high bun.
Soon, they would send me to the Master. After tying me up again and putting me into another bag, I lay silently in the car, waiting for the exchange. Chanthara accompanied by Tiwat, took me and a few boxes of the ‘goods’, to a meeting place with the Master.
The Master was a man of a few words. Chanthara and Tiwat attempted to negotiate with him.
From the open doors of the car, I heard his cold voice.
“I want to inspect the goods.”
They unloaded the boxes and brought me down from the car.
“What’s in the bag?”
“A woman who was interesting to you,” Chanthara said confidently.
“Men, take the boxes and investigate them carefully.” I heard a shuffle of many footsteps and the rustle of cardboard. It was probably the Master’s men taking the boxes to another vehicle.
“Open the bag,” he told Chanthara and Tiwat.
Chanthara directed Tiwat in Thai. Hearing the movements outside, I assumed it was Tiwat slitting open the top of the bag. As he pulled it down to my shoulders, I opened my eyes and mustered my strength.
Lenard Lee looked the same. Still rather arrogant, his nose was pointed like a hawk’s beak and a sharp chin. The man had a killer stare.
“So, she’s mine now?” Lenard batted his eyebrows.
“If you agree to the truce.”
“Fine, you have my word that my men will stay off your turf for one month. After that, you are all going to work harder to find some way to make this work.”
“Thank you, Master Lee.”
They retreated, driving away in the car. That left me and the Master. I attempted not to look hopeless as the Master impaled me with his cruel stare.
“Ah, Piper. One year has passed, and you still look as sexy as ever. I can’t wait until you’re naked and panting, like the last time.”
I swallowed. Even without a gag or tape over my mouth, I couldn’t say a word. He just dragged me towards the spot where he parked his car. I pulled my feet over the ground, remembering the dagger in my right shoe. At the right moment, I could end his life. But I wasn’t confident.
As Chanthara mentioned, I just had to stay alive.
Instead of following his men’s car to where I presumed they were going to the den, he drove his car instead towards the highway.
I came to realise that it was a rented car. It was fancy, and probably the latest sports car model. Did the Master even have use for such material things, if he was here for ‘work’?
Cold metal brushed over my neck as he whispered, “Not a word in that elevator.”
I nodded. He cut me free from my bonds and made me link arms with him. The next thing I knew was, we were inside a hotel. He pressed the button on the elevator with the edge of his cell phone and pulled me into the elevator with him.
His room was on the eleventh floor. It had been a while since I experienced such luxuries. I thought he was going to take me to the den, but it turned out he resided at a hotel. It made me feel strange about his lifestyle.
During the transition, nobody entered the elevator. Soon, we arrived on the eleventh floor, and I followed him into room 1102.
The Master pushed me onto the bed. It felt soft, making me forget my concerns for a second, but then I almost panicked when he made a move to remove my shoes. Fortunately, Chanthara had wedged the knife deep inside the shoe, so it hadn’t come off when he took off my shoes.
I let out a silent sigh of relief. He pulled off his shirt and trousers, not allowing me to forget what I was here for.
Then his fingers slipped clumsily around the neckline of my dress, tearing it off my body. I took a deep breath and kept calm. Even though tonight came somewhat voluntarily to me, he would always be rough at sex. I lay submissively on the bed and he ran his fingers over the outside of my two-piece lingerie.
“It’s such a change seeing you this way. Did you finally miss me, Piper?”
“I’m May.”
I took a deep breath. He didn’t slap me this time, but slipped under the upper piece of my lingerie and coursed his tongue along my breasts. I endured his play, knowing he was just trying to pick on me. When he was rough with me, I didn’t let out a single sound. Now he was just testing my perseverance.
He lifted his face from my chest and locked his eyes on mine, staring intensely into me.
“Piper, you seem to have forgotten what happened back then.”
I remained quiet.
“You were moaning.”
That’s because they drugged me; I cursed in my mind. I had lost control of my emotions and my body while he found his way inside me, slamming me hard while I lay motionless after my crippling. I didn’t need his reminder to feel anguish inside me.
He’s just seeking a way to break me again and again, I told myself. But if not tonight, you will die at my hand eventually, I said mentally.
I feigned a smile. “Master, you want me to moan?”
He laughed evilly. “Piper, if you listened and stopped insisting you were May, it would have been a lot easier on you.”
“Fine, if you want me to be Piper, I will be then. How do you want me to serve you, Master?” I stared at him, acting docile.
“Stop.” He pushed me away from him.
“What?”
“There’s no fun with you like this.” He pulled out a folding knife from his pants pocket. I shivered. The knife unfolded to be a longer one. From the glint on the tip of the knife, I knew it had to be very sharp. I glanced towards my shoes. If only I could make a break for them, I could quickly grab the dagger and stab him with it.
“I forgot something,” I said quickly, edging away from him and shuffled towards my shoes. Slashing sounds came from his side, but I didn’t want to think about what he was doing with the knife. I found my shoes and clawed through them, finding the dagger.
“Done.” He stepped towards me. I could feel his breath as he got closer. Chanthara had glued the internal flap of my right shoe over the slim dagger, but somehow, I couldn’t pull it loose. It was stuck!
“Piper… I’m coming for you,” he hooted menacingly. “Don’t you dare hide. You know what’s going to happen when you do.”
I held my breath and, with trembling fingers, I slid the dagger out of the shoe and hid it behind my back. I needed to find somewhere to hide it before he noticed.
I would play a game of chase with him. I searched with my eyes rapidly around the room, but there was no place I felt confident hiding my weapon. It was the only chance I got to be so close to murdering him.
“You’re so dead now, you sly one.”
I ran from him, but he was much faster and grabbed onto my foot, pulling me towards him. In fear, I stabbed him blindly. But he wrenched the tool from me easily and tossed it to the floor.
“I see you learned a lot of things. But I didn’t come unprepared. It’s going to be a long night, my pet.”
