WHAT'S WRONG WITH HER?

SOLD ----CHAPTER EIGHT.

Angelina slept peacefully on the bed. She haven't felt so much happiness in her heart that she wish to sleep longer. She can't wait this leave this mansion and start a new life somewhere else, where he wouldn't find her again.

"Bam!bam!bam!!", The loud knock on the door made her groan and woke up from sleep.

" Who must that be now", Angelina took off the blanket and climbed out of bed. She angrily strolled towards the door," Conner what do you want?", She opened the door and asked when she saw him standing outside.

"Have you forgotten our deal?", Conner asked.

" No I haven't", Angelina folded her arms and said.

"Here", Conner stretched his hands and offered her a document.

" What is this?", Angelina collected the documents and asked.

"Those are the papers my mother needs to sign", He respond. " If she didn't sign it before the end of today, forget about been free from me", Conner said. "I will leaving for work now, take care of my mom", He added and dismissed.

Angelina locked the door and heaved a sigh of relief.

"Soon all this will be over and I don't have to worry about anything", She said to herself.

She dropped the documents on the bed and entered the bathroom. She took off her clothes and slid into the tub.

She parked her hair in a high buns before turning on the shower.

Few minutes later, she came out of the bathroom with the towel wrapped round her chest level. She brought out a black dress from the wardrobe and put it on.

"Now as for the documents, I just have one day and I will finally be out of here", She said to herself as she stroll towards the bed and picked up the documents papers.

"I should make sure she's okay before anything else", She said and hide the documents in the wardrobe.

She turned to look at the mirror and glanced at herself.

"Not bad", She said as she admire herself in the mirror.

She felt wierd because this was the first time she's checking herself out in the mirror. Was it because of Ethan?, The question popped in her head and she shook her head in respond.

"Focus Angelina", She said to herself and stroll out of the room.

She scanned around the hall and couldn't find anyone around.

She slowly walk downstairs, carefully watching her steps so she won't slip down and fall.

She stroll into the kitchen, she prepared hot tea and arranged it on the small tray. She carried it in her hands and walk upstairs, into Maryland's room.

She knocked twice before she entered the room.

" Good morning", She greeted.

Maryland sluggish woke up from sleep and sat up on the bed.

"What are you doing up this early?", Maryland asked as she clean her eyes open.

" Nothing, I made tea", Angelina respond as she approached Maryland and dropped the tray on the table opposite the bed.

'You don't have to..."

"Yes I have to"

Angelina insist and sat next to her on the bed.

"I took my time preparing this, so you must eat", She urged and Maryland gawked at her with a smile on her face. She turned and gaze at Maryland who was staring at her," Why are you staring at me, what's wrong?", She became curious and asked.

"Nothing", She looked away and respond. " It's just that", She paused and smiled. "None of my sons has ever treated me with so much love like the way you do and it makes me wish I have a daughter", Maryland said calmly.

Angelina felt hurt inside of her, she made her remembered that she doesn't have a mother by saying all those words to her.

She misses Mariah a lot because she has been the only that had showed her so much love and care. She gave her the mother's love she deserve and now everything has changed. Her father sold her out to an arrogant man who use her the way he likes, who disrespect her.

" Darling are you crying?", Maryland asked as she touched her face that were already drenched with tears.

She didn't realized that she's crying until now, she quickly wiped the tears clean from her face and forced a fake smile.

She turned to look at Maryland,"No I am not", Angelina chuckled, trying to hide the sadness written clearly all over her face.

"I am a mother Angelina, I can see the pains by looking at your eyes", She said. "Are you feeling sad about what I said?", She asked. " You shouldn't okay?", Maryland inquired and Angelina nodded her head as she stroke her hair softly.

"I am not crying now, you should have ur tea now", Angelina urged.

" Okay fine", Maryland chuckled.

She collected the cup of tea from the table and sip from it.

The door opened and Ethan came in.

"Angelina, I was worried when I didn't find you in your...", He paused when he saw his mom. " I mean you are here", Ethan said.

"Yes I came to see your mom and I made tea for her", Angelina stood up and said.

" Really that's nice", Ethan smiled and approached her.

"Ethan you should learn to take your eyes off women, especially your brother's wife", Maryland said.

" Excuse me, I should leave now", Angelina gaze at the ground and dismissed.

"Ethan you know Angelina is your brother...", Maryland paused when she noticed Ethan has left the room. "He never listens to me", Maryland said.

" Hi", Ethan said as he followed her climbed down from the stairs.

"Hi", Angelina respond without looking back at him.

" I'm Ethan, in case you don't know my name", Ethan introduced.

"Angelina", Angelina respond and Ethan could scent she was shy since she couldn't look at him.

"I am sorry about yesterday", Ethan apologize as they both entered the kitchen.

" There is nothing to feel sorry about", Angelina said as she scanned around the kitchen, searching for the store room.

Ethan sat on the cabinet and watch her walk around the kitchen,"I know you are mad at me?"

"Not at all", Angelina said.

She stroll to the refrigerator and brought out some food stuff before she locked it.

" Are you always this shy or something?", Ethan asked, trying to get her attention and it worked.

She paused and gaze at him,"What do you want from me?", She asked. "Can't you see I'm busy", Angelina said as she gave him a cold look.

"What's wrong with her?, she wasn't like this yesterday", Ethan mumbled under his breath.
