HOW MUCH I LOVE THE SMELL OF PAIN

Haley coughed hard as she covered her mouth using her palm, avoiding the smoke from invading her breath. It made it uneasy for her to breathe, she released her pressure in her mouth and quickly gasped for air and in the process she became weak due to the smoke. She monitored the fire, increasing its flame and blocking the passage which leads out of the cottage and on seeing this she knew she couldn't leave the cottage.

Even with her sharp sight, she couldn't see clearly as the room had been clouded with smoke all over the place.

She coughed and sneezed yet at the same time.

"Mate". Her wolf, Miranda cried out for help as Haley fell down weakly on the ground.

Damond greyson, the Alpha of the crescent sun pack which had been ambushed by the moon wolves was standing at the top of the buildings where he could clearly see their enemies attack from a distance.

Ten of his men were positioned behind the quay in front of them, vertically as they sighted their opponent using the arrow. They place the arrow across the middle of the bow with the bowstring in the arrow's nock. They held the strings along with the javelin attached to the string, ready to shut down its prey. They were all putting on an ammo and a quicker on their shoulder which contains the silver javelins.

When Damond was sure they were all ready for attack he roared out his order.
"Fire!!!".

Immediately after hearing their alpha orders, they hold the bow at its center with one hand and pull back the arrow and the bowstring with the other before they release the string and it spins at a steer speed before it shoots down to the first set of men invading their pack. It shot through their body and the affected men fell down to the ground while the other group of men didn't stop yelling as they rushed towards the big qate that protected the walls of the castle.

"Mate". His wolf growled, he could feel that his mate was in danger.

"Keep it on". He ordered before he ran to the cliff. He couldn't take the long stairs, he was frustrated by his wolf continuously howling at his mate.

"Mate". He growled in rage, dangerously trying to take control over Damond which it did. His piercing blue eyes changed to orange as his canine teeth extended. He huffed and groaned, trying to sight his mate from the cliff he was standing from. He clenched his fist where he couldn't figure out her direction. He slowly backed away from the cliff and with a sudden force he raced forwards again, jumping out from the cliff. He somersaulted in the air and changed to his wolf form; a black huge wolf with two long canines teeth at the side of his muzzle, they were sharp and dangerous. It spun in the air before it cascaded down on its paws.

His wolf that was in control could sharply perceive his mate's scent, it lifted its head up and howled aloud. It was obvious it was screaming out his mate. He lowered his head and began following her scent. He got to a part where her scent became more stronger, indicating that he was getting closer to where she was hidden.

He got to a cottage, which was surrounded in flames before he paused and transformed back to his human form.


"Haley!". He screamed from outside when she heard him but couldn't respond. "Haley!!!". He called again as he approached the cottage, fanning off the smoke that was blocking his view. "Are you in there Haley!!!". He yelled as he could feel his mate present, she was in there.

His wolf didn't stop chanting her name repeatedly, he was in pain which affected him.

"Calm down maximum, we will save her ''. He assured his wolf as he moved back, making an attempt to walk through the fire. He didn't care if he would survive in flames as all was in his mind was to save his mate that was inside the cottage. "Stay strong Haley,I am coming for you". Damond yelled as he felt his heart tearing apart, he had a feeling that he was losing her, Haley was losing her life.

He clenched his fist which stifled and jointed his muscles together. His chest was bulky and his biceps were standing firmly. He ran and surpass through the fire as he went inside.

He was fast enough not to get any burnt from the flames of fire but the heat and the sweat coming out of his body obviously showed that he escaped being roasted by the fire.

"Haley''. He fell down on his knees towards his unconscious mate. "Haley''. He cried out her name for the first time as he carried her up in his arms. He carried her with one hand and used the other to check her pulse, it was fading away. He needed to find a way out or else she would die here.

He flipped her over on his back and dusted his feet on the ground, preparing to speed out of the cottage. His chest heaved a breath with deep emotions before his eyes changes to orange, signifying that his wolf has taken over. He went back before he rapidly moved forward and sped out of the cottage. He landed on the ground as his body hovered around here to avoid her body from being harmed against the hard surface.

"Haley''. He sat up when he had succeeded in reducing his mate. He placed her head on his lap and cupped her face, hot tears dropped from his eyes down to his mate's forehead. "Haley''. He called morelike in a whisper, caressing her hair.

The walls protecting the building broke open and a group of wolves invaded the castle. They plundered the people in the pack while some of his Omega's and gamma who tried to fight were chomped on and slaughtered to death.

Diamond watches as the scene as the event took over, he is a dire wolf and yet he couldn't do anything. Dire wolves are known to have temporal range, dangerous but yet he couldn't do anything to stop them. His wolf was broken and had shut himself against him, he was weak and just couldn't think straight as he watched his people being killed till he was the only one left alone with his mate.

He clung Haley's body against his chest and his arm as he noticed the wolves around him. They didn't attack him as they stood as if waiting for orders before they could attack.

A mocking laughter came from behind which seems to be familiar to Damond. It became clearer as he heard the footsteps approaching, it came and stood in front of him as his laughing increased.

On Seeing the feet, Damond hope it wasn't who he thought that was standing in front of him. It would be hard to believe if he had to look up to see the man but then, he lifted his head to behold the monster standing in front of him.

Demoni Thana, his brother… his brother who has tried to steal his power's from him after discovering he is a Dire wolf, that possesses so much power, strong enough to become a zeta. His selfish bloodthirsty brother wanted it, he wanted it to himself so he could be crowned as the zeta. He couldn't let him have what he wished for, that would be like putting the entire werewolf existence at risk. He battled with him and successfully killed him, but how is it possible he survived? He had thrown his cold body into the forest of death but how did he survive it?

A Lot of thought ran through Damond's head as he tried to gather more information in his head that could explain to him what is behind his brother survival.

Noticing the look on his brother's face, Demoni smirked. His face was cold and he had a deadly aura that no one would find pleasing to come close to him. He chuckled before he spoke,"Didn't I tell you? That I will take everything that has ever belonged to you???". He asked. "Your pack…". He mentioned as he strode around Damond. "Your power…your Rabid wolves who are not meant to exist in our world". He said and laughed hard. "And should I say…your mate also???". He said in a questioning tone and Diamond dangerously growled at him on hearing him mentioned that.

"It's between us, leave my mate out of this". Damond growled at his brother even though he didn't have any power left in him.

"Calm down big brother…I know it's between us, but something's got to be involved, isn't it dear brother?". Demoni inquired then he swatted down in front of him and grabbed his chin. "I will make sure I make you pay for all you did to me a thousand years ago". He said in a whisper but it did sound like a threat.

Damond laughed and pulled his face dangerously close to him,"Do your worst". He respond with a grin which made Demoni to grit his teeth in anger as he stood up and turned to the wolves. "Take her". He ordered and three of the wolves transformed to it's human form.

"Don't do this". Damond yelled, as he tightened his grip against her body.

"I said take her!!!". Demoni screamed at the wolves who seemed scared after hearing Damond yelled. They weren't given an option, they bowed their heads in approval to his statement and walked to Damond.

They didn't give him any warnings before they forcefully dragged Haley's hand and pulled her out from his grip. Damond growled as he tried to battle with the wolves; he was held back by another group of strong men.

Demoni inhaled,"How much I love the smell of pains, cries, fear". He exhaled as he made mention of them.

"Demoni!!!". Damond yelled at the top of his lungs, making the environment to echoe along. The strong men held both his arms as he struggled to pull out of their grip but they added more pressure on him that he couldn't move. He writhe his body but it was hopeless. He screamed continuously.

"I have been waiting to do this to you for a long time". Demoni said with a half smile, he clenched his hand into a fist and punched it hard against Damond's nose. If Damond wasn't strong he would have fled like the men holding him from behind fled away from him and landed on the ground. Diamond eyes became blurry, he could barely hear his voice as his sight faded away he felt his body make a thud as it dropped to the ground.
