Chapter Nineteen

She shut her eyes and rested her head back. Her phone pinged. She cracked open her eyes. Ethan's message popped up on her phone. She hurried to open it.
' I'll be late. Don't bother waiting for me at dinner. '
She slipped away the phone and laptop on the table. She rested her head on the couch's arm. She was growing tired. She rested her eyes shut. Her eyes were looking dead as she was a sleep lover.
Crack of the door, footsteps and rustle of the things broke her nap. She looked forward suddenly, blinking through the slush of sleep deprivation. She concentrated on the figure before her eyes. Her eyes locked with his amber eyes.
He undone his coat and removed his wrist watch and quickly glanced at her, " Didn't mean to wake you up? Have you had your meal? " He asked her.
She hated to tell him lies. Slush of sleep was calling her in. She closed her eyes and threw her head back. She hit it hard but didn't bother to rub it where she collided. Her sleep was darling to her. She was damn sure she would never get rid of her two habits, first sleep like a giant and second that she easily got dehydrated. She felt pulled in her body at one direction. She placed her head on his hard chest.
" Mia, " He said slowly but enough to jarred her.
She looked up cracking open her eyes. Her head wasn't on his chest any longer. He was standing before the mirror and adjusting his tie, " Are you going somewhere? " She laced with curiosity.
" As you've woken up now. We are going out. You've thirty minutes. " He said and paced out using his long strides. She was feeling her body tingle hearing his voice.
" You are still in your bed. We are going out. " Lana said smilingly. She was in black gown, her hair was shining orange and straight. She was looking hot like hell.
" You are looking adorable. But I'm going out with Ethan. " She pouted.
Lana giggled, " We are going with our husbands. There's a party. Get up. " She held her hand and pulled her out of the bed. Lana placed her both hands on her back and prodded her toward the washroom, " Any particular dress? " Lana asked.
" Any white dress. " She smiled, thinking that it took a short time to get friendly with her as usual she wasn't good at making friends.
She was in a white gown. It was slit from left side leg to upper thigh. She ran her hand through her wavy hair.
" Just a little bit blusher. " Lana moved the brusher on her cheeks giving light pink color on it, " Makeup is light as you told. You are looking adorable. I haven't seen a girl looking adorable with a minimum amount of makeup. " Lana looked at her through the mirror.
She was feeling blessed to have Lana at her side. They weren't friends but she didn't feel alone and felt to share anything to her, " Thank you, Lana. I haven't any idea what I would be doing without you. I'm not good at making friends. Gretta is my only friend and I'm extremely blessed to have you here. " She held her hand and told her.
" That's what best friends do. " Lana hugged her and she instantly wrapped her arms around her arms.
Someone cleared his throat. They broke the hug and glanced at the door. Michail was standing in his black suit. " Are you ready ladies? " he asked.
" Yes we're. " Lana walked in her catwalk and placed a kiss on her husband' cheek.
" Hot like hell." Michail whispered and claimed her lips.
She averted her eyes on the ground, " Let's go, Mia. " Lana said with a smile.
She raised her eyes and watched them walking out of the room like a teenager couple.

Her hand was grasped in his strong hand. There was a scared look on everyone's face. Music was loud and she could see scared faces easily. They were making way for them without rising their eyes on them. Ethan and Michail were behaving as these scared faces didn't exist.
He darted her eyes around them. They were surrounded by his big and buff bodyguards. Her eyes fell on Lana, She seemed unaware of it and exhilaration could be seen easily on her beautiful features. She felt his hand and next moment his hand crawled on her lower back and tugged her to his side. His eyes were on his phone. He sighed in frustration, glaring down at his phone. He didn't gaze at her or passed any comment. He always told her how she looked. It was the first time when she was wearing clothes of her choice. Could it be the reason, he didn't like it today.
They were in the VIP hall. She could see the whole crowd. They seemed back to their normal life. She swirled her neck to see Lana. She was dancing with her husband and laughter was erupting from her red lips. She sighted at him, standing inches away from her. When his eyes were not on his phone, he was talking to Mark and Gabby issuing orders and discussing things. She didn't try to eavesdrop them. If she wanted to she couldn't as music was much louder. She peered down the railing. She wanted to dance in the center. That's what Gretta challenged her to do every time and got more than five boys' numbers and thrashed it as part of a game. Thrash was her choice as she wanted to keep herself for her special one.
Abruptly, she was dragged out of her thoughts. He pushed her toward him. Her back was brushing on the railing and he was glaring at her, " Whatever you're planning. You are not allowed. You're a married woman now. " He said in his deep and infamous dangerous tone.
She crushed her eyebrows in confusion, " What do you mean? " She asked him, staring in his menacing amber eyes.
" Swaying your body among a bunch of nerds and getting their numbers. " He whispered in her ear, clearly annoyed, pushing her at him. Music seemed to her playing in the background in a slow voice.
It annoyed her. How could he judge her and how the heck he knew this. She pressed her lips in a straight line, " If I want to do this I don't need your permission. " She snapped.
" Dare to do it, love. You'll be dancing around dead bodies. " He whispered again in his curt but sweet voice.
She took a deep sucking breath from her lips, goosebumps rose on her entire body sending tremor in her body. She pushed her head back and glanced at him. He was looking damn serious about his threat, "You're ki-dding. " She asked him unbelievingly.
" I'm not, love. " He smirked, stuffing his threat.
She shook her head unbelieving at his comment. She swirled her face away from him, watching the crowd when tears were threatening to spill from her eyes, " Excuse me. I need to use the washroom. " She made her way toward the washroom.
She saw herself in the mirror. She could see water in her eyes. She opened her purse and searched for the tissues. She was doubting she put it in here. Suddenly, a familiar touch on her back pivoted her strongly. She was standing there in awe, staring in his amber eyes.
He brushed his thumb under her eyes, putting a little pressure on his thumb pad. He was glaring at her. She pushed him away but he held her hand and was inches away from him. She darted her eyes to his back. There was no one, only two of them. He brushed his lips on her cheek, " You're mine. Engrave it in your mind and heart, love. " He said huskily.
She winced and parted her lips. She tried to back away from him but he tightened his hold on her waist. He leaned in. She felt his lips brushing on her. It sent shivers down her body. It was different. It wasn't just his anger, she was feeling his care and some rare kind of attachment. His eyes were soft on her. He leaned in. Before he could do anything. Door flung open, emerging Lana.
" Oops! I'm sorry. " Lana nervously smiled.
" We were just... " He stopped saying. She saw an Innocent boy standing near her instead of some menacing personality. There was shyness on his handsome face. He rubbed his neck. She couldn't control and giggled. His head snapped at her. He cupped her cheek, running his thumb on it. He didn't bother who was watching them. He leaned in and kissed his wife.
" We should go. " He whispered when he pulled away. She knew his gaze was on her. She was feeling so shy to meet his gaze. She didn't lift them up, " Look at me, love. " He demanded in his harsh voice again which broke her fantasy. She looked in his eyes, jaw tightened, impassive but dangerous expression, " No tears. " He demanded in a scary deep voice.
She shook her head and rushed out. Lana was still waiting for them out of the door, " Sorry Mia for disturbing your love making. But it's urgent, you know. " Lana shoved her purse in her hand and rushed in, " Sorry, Ethan. " she apologized to him in her way. He immediately nodded and rested his eyes back on her.
Lana came back and held my wrist, " Let's have some girly time. '' She walked her through the crowd taking her with her. Lana grabbed the both purses from her hand and placed it on the table. Lana was dancing, forgetting everything. Her concentrate was on music.
She was hesitating after hearing his threat. Her body shivered. She was standing at some distance watching her with a smile on her pink lips. Lana tugged her at the dance floor. She denied it and glanced up. Ethan was standing there with an evil smirk on his face. His hands clenched the railing with a gap between both hands.
" Come on. " Lana tugged her.
She stared at him with her challenging eyes. She began to sway with the music. Forgetting his dagger glare on her, she moved her body. Lana held her one hand and made her swirl. Both laughed hysterically.
" I can guess. Ethan doesn't like your dancing because the whole troop is staring at you. " Lana mocked.
She laughed, throwing her head behind. Lana made her swivel again. She darted her eyes around. Lana wasn't kidding, all eyes were on her. But thankfully, they were keeping distance from her as they'd definitely seen her coming with the most dangerous man.
She sneaked a look on him. His smirk was gone and replaced with deep frown. He was glaring at the people who were unaware of danger and was ogling at her. She wasn't ready for any day spoiler thing, " I should go. " She stopped dancing and whirled to leave the dance floor. Abruptly, she felt a strange strong hand around her forearm.
" Hello beautiful, " A deep voice said.
Her body shredded with fear. She was afraid Ethan would see them and killed him. She tried to move away. But his hold stopped her, " I said. Hello, Beautiful. " He repeated his words darkly.
She lifted her eyes and found a dark black pair of eyes staring down at her. There was a dark smirk on his lips. He was handsome with a strong jawline.
My husband is more handsome, she heard her inner voice.
She stepped back from him when she realized his hot breath was brushing her cheeks. He didn't let go of her hand although there was enough space between them. She opened her mouth but a familiar hand crawled on her stomach. His second hand came out with a gun. He pointed it out on his forehead who dared to touch her, his wife. Black eyed didn't flinch. He smirked to her astound.
" I didn't think. We'll meet like this. " He said to Ethan, still holding her hand.
" Keep your filthy hands off of my wife. " Ethan growled darkly.
Her back was touching his hard muscles. His threat reverberated in her ears. His hot breath was calm and brushing her shoulder. But his grip was tightened on her belly. He was securely holding her. She placed her hand over his hand and rubbed her fingers softly on the back of his hand.
He crushed his eyebrows and stared at her hand with his dark black eyes. His smirk returned back, " Nice to meet you, Mrs Warburton. " His grip got loose on her hand. Before slipping her hand from his hold, he leaned in and placed a soft kiss on her knuckles. Her heart started to throb badly. Ethan tugged her closer to him. She didn't dare to look at him. He must be ready to erupt like a volcano.
" You got a gem, man. Congratulations. " He smirked.
Tugging her aside, Ethan hurried his gun at Michail. He took a long stride and wrapped his hand around his neck, " Don't you even dare to lay your fucking eyes on her. I'll shoot you at the spot. " He slowly whispered his words as music stopped, now she could hear him clearly. Both men's jaws were tightened and glaring at each other with menacing eyes.
" It's not the right place. " He said, turning his black eyes on her.
Ethan looked at her scared face. He unhanded his neck and made his way out of the club through the crowd. More than the dark and silent of the night, he was scaring her.
He stopped near his car. He growled in frustration and kicked the tyre. She jolted with fear. His fists were clenched at his side. Cowardly, she reached for him and placed her shivering hand on his shoulder, " Ethan. " She spoke hesitantly.
He grasped her wrist and tugged her closer, " You're mine. " He said slowly but could not keep away the roughness from his tone.
He wouldn't let her go until she assured him. But she wanted to know, why? Why was she his? They are married but he and she did not love each other. Although, she has clearly seen care for her in his eyes and he remembered her likes and dislikes, " Why? " She asked in her shivering voice. She was anticipating thwack from him and abusive language.
Contrary, He slipped his hands on her waist and made her sit on the bonnet. He caressed her cheeks, " You are my wife. I'll give you a best life. I'll never hurt you. " He promised.
She was gawking at him with an astonished face. It wasn't just the best life she wanted, she wanted love. Would he give her that?
The love she had seen between Lana and Michail. He was rubbing his thumb tenderly on her right cheek. She knew he was waiting for her answer, only yes. She nodded her head and passed her assuring smile. He smiled. He actually smiled and pecked on her forehead. " Wanna go back in? " He asked.
If black eyed would be there she wouldn't handle his anger again if he lost his temper again, " No, " She shook her head.
He fished out his phone and informed Michail, " Ain't they coming? " She asked him.
" They have plans. " He said, shoving his phone in his pocket. He rested his hand on her lower back and led her toward the car and opened the door for her. Before getting in, she last time ran her eyes on the club.
She skipped a beat when she saw that back eyed guy staring at them through large mirror window glass. She instantly got in the car and put on the seat belt. She didn't want another bickering because of her.
' When, there's Ethan and he doesn't like it and things are not according to him, a petty point can turn into a quarrel. He will not hesitate to empty his gun in fronter's head. ' She thought and wandered her eyes at him.
' Why is he so handsome? ' she asked herself.
He turned the keys and drove toward the house. She could see a glimpse of anger on his face. When he turned to her, he smiled his best. She couldn't stop herself returning the smile.
