Chapter 20 – Morning mess

Early in the morning, Nozomu felt some sort of liquid in his mouth, and something smooth pressing his lips. He swallowed the liquid, and felt a rush running along his body. A rush that took away all his tiredness and sleepiness.
He slowly opened his eyes and saw Koyaga kissing him. He hugged her tightly and reciprocated the long, tender kiss, feeling her three breasts against his naked chest.

Koyaga slowly broke the kiss and smiled at Nozomu, “Thanks for this. I think I was a bit too crazy, but the night sure was fun! How are you feeling? Better?”

“Yeah. Did you just give me a Healing Potion? Because I feel full of energy!”

Koyaga answered while leaving the bed to get her clothes that were in a closet in the right wall, “I had to, more than once, actually. You almost died on me a couple of times. I may have abused you a bit too much. It's better if you get dressed, we need to open doors and you get to get that pretty ass of yours in the kitchen, to get things ready for breakfast. I bet my brother is already heating the oven to make fresh bread, and our daily delivery of fresh milk will arrive shortly.”

Nozomu asked while picking up his clothes on the floor, “Adventurers drink milk at breakfast? I thought they only drank beer, or wine.”

“They also like tea, but a few do enjoy having a bowl of wine mixed with fresh bread and eat it like soup. Supposedly, it gives them strength and energy for going on a Quest. I never tried it.”

Koyaga carefully opened her bedroom door and peeked to both sides, pushing Nozomu out when she was sure no one would see him exiting her room. She winked at him and closed the door again, to go fix her hair that was a total mess.
While Nozomu was walking along the corridor to the kitchen, Koyaga was brushing her hair and smiling at the mirror, “That sure was fun! I wonder where he learned all that? He wasn’t a bit doubtful and he more or less knew where my buttons were, to push them. For someone so young, he sure knows his stuff!”

As for Nozomu, he was helping the big cook put small balls of dough in the oven, to bake fresh bread.
When Taisetsuna came down from her room with a big smile on her face, Koyaga was already opening the windows of the main room, and was about to open the door to see if the farm boy was already there with the milk. The noise outside made her frown and she looked at Taisetsuna that shrugged and signalled her to open the door.
As soon as the two big doors opened, a huge crowd rushed to the inside, pushing Koyaga and Taisetsuna to the side. They both barely had time to step aside, and they noticed that most of the people entering were not Adventurers, most of them were normal citizens, and the Beast-kind were in larger numbers. The main room was filled with people standing and looking around, the noise of conversations filling the air.

Koyaga put two fingers on her mouth and made such a loud whistle that the sound echoed in the walls and made everyone cover their ears. She then shouted with an angry look on her face, “What is the meaning of this? Why are you all here making such a ruckle so early in the morning?”

A few voices spoke at the same time and she shouted again, “Silence! One at a time! You, big guy, what’s all this after all?”

A tall and wide-shouldered Bovine-kind spoke in a thundering voice, “I think we are all here for the same reason. We heard that there is a new food here with amazing effects, and it seems we all want to buy it.”

Koyaga Azusake looked around, dumbfounded. She then whispered to Taisetsuna, “Follow me and go straight to the kitchen to warn my brother and Nozomu to prepare more pizzas for lunch, as many as they can.”

Koyaga then faced forward again and shouted, “Out of my way, you fools! Let me reach the reception desk to take care of your order.”

She began walking straightforwardly, pushing aside everyone that was too slow on clearing a passage for her and Taisetsuna that was right on her heels.
Near the reception, Taisetsuna ran along the corridor straight to the kitchen, while Koyaga grabbed a notebook from a drawer. She put the notebook and a pen with an ink container and asked, “So, we have two sizes, one pizza the size of a plate, and a smaller one, the size of your open hand. Considering how many of you want to try one and the amount of work that will mean for my kitchen, I am only accepting orders for small pizzas today. When we have more ovens and more people to work on them, we will accept orders for bigger pizzas. Each small pizza is one copper coin, you pay when you come to get it.”

A Dog-kind asked while everyone else was looking around, surprised by her words, “Miss Koyaga, I think we all want one as soon as possible. How long does it take each one to make?”

“Well, yesterday we were taking ten minutes to make them and five minutes for a batch to be ready in the oven. I guess in fifteen minutes we can have the first twenty pizzas ready. So, make a line with the order of arrival, give me your name and how many small pizzas you want.”

They all began to argue amongst them, with the bigger men pushing the others to the bottom of the room. Koyaga grabbed a sword that he had stashed under the counter and hit it on the counter a couple of times. The sound of metal against the metallic tray she had over the counter, silenced them all, “Did I say for you to cause a mess? Make a proper line with order of arrival! Unless any of you wants to annoy me and lose an arm! None of the Adventurers that comes here are foolish enough to make me angry, why do you think you can? Make a line, now!”

They all stumbled on each other’s feet, rushing to make a line and discussing in a low voice who arrived first than the other. Koyaga frowned and waited while slowly bumping the blade on the tray to warn them to be fast. When there was a line that went till outside and nearly got to the door of the stable at the left of the Guild, Koyaga put the sword under the counter again and began noting down the names and the number of pizzas each of them wanted.

When the first person went to sit at a table with a tiny piece of paper with his number and the amount of pizzas he wanted, Taisetsuna arrived at the reception desk and whispered to Koyaga, “They turned the dough that was supposed to become bread into pizzas. Do you need help here or can I go help them? The Guild Master is already there.”

“Make some tea and pick up the milk the farm boy left near the door. It’s those two long cylinders over there. See if the people that are waiting for pizzas want milk, tea and some biscuits while they wait. At least we can make some money while they are sitting there. And then go tell my brother if he can manage to make some bread, because sooner or later Adventurers will arrive for breakfast, and I want to have fresh bread for them!”

Taisetsuna rushed to grab the milk containers, and she carried over her shoulders, one container on each. Koyaga frowned and thought to herself, “|... Damn, she is strong! No wonder yesterday she used me like a toy! …|”

Taisetsuna put the milk containers behind the counter and rushed to the kitchen to prepare the tea while Koyaga was still taking notes of the orders for pizzas.
She went past Nozomu in the corridor with him pushing the wheeled cart, and she jumped over him, looking down with a smile. Taisetsuna rolled on the floor when she landed and entered the kitchen with a jump, going straight to the stove to take the water that was already boiling and she quickly put the green tea leaves and exited with a nod and a smile to the surprised Guild Master, who was on the counter mixing dough.

Seta Azusake smiled when he saw her walking along the corridor, “Those two are hard workers, Udo. Things have never been boring since they arrived!”

“Or profitable. She said there is a line going till outside, right? And for us to make pizzas until she tells us to stop! Nozomu's idea was a very good one, everyone seems to like pizzas!”

The big cook put a new batch of smoking hot pizzas over a tray on the table and when he was using his wooden paddle to put more uncooked pizzas in the oven, he shrugged, “I bet everyone is more interested in the side effects of the pizza than the taste!

“Well, that could also explain why so many people come today, but you have to admit, the pizzas are indeed tasty!”

In the main room, the line was moving and people were leaving, happily carrying a small pizza wrapped in a huge lettuce leaf. Or something that looked like lettuce, because the cook was the one to put that big leafed vegetable on top of the table, and he wrapped the freshly baked pizzas with a leaf explaining to Nozomu that those leaves were good to preserve the heat of food.

When the first group of Adventurers arrived for breakfast wondering why all that mess in the Guild so early in the morning, Taisetsuna rushed to guide them to an empty table and took their order for breakfast. One man with a cape and long dark hair asked, “What’s all this about? Why are there so many people here today?”

“They heard about the pizzas we had here yesterday, and all of them came to buy it.”

The four Adventurers jolted, and the caped Adventurer stuttered, “Y-you have m-more of those? I want one! That pizza I ate yesterday was unbelievably tasty!”

“It’s probably better if you come for lunch because judging by the extra work in the kitchen and the long line of people waiting, you will probably be here all morning!”

The four Adventurers shook their heads, and they all said that they wouldn’t mind waiting. Taisetsuna pointed to the Quest Board and to Koyaga, who was at the reception desk receiving pizza orders non-stop, “You might want to reconsider that because there are some new Quests over there. Unless you want to face Miss Koyaga because you all know how much she likes to see Adventurers here with Quest Forms waiting on that Board!”

They went immediately silent and the caped Adventurer spoke in a low voice, “Do you think if we finish one of those Quests, she won’t be angry if we are here for dinner to eat some pizzas?”

“I think she will like it a lot because she sure likes to stamp a finished Quest form and get the Guild’s share of the payment! Don’t worry, I think pizzas will become a regular dish here, and there will be a lot of opportunities for you to eat them. Now, what do you want for breakfast? You need to eat properly to have strength for the Quest, right?”

The Adventurers returned Taisetsuna’s smile in double, and she immediately rushed to the reception counter to take care of their order. Koyaga asked without even looking at her, “What those Adventurers wanted, Taisetsuna? Did they mess with you? They were smiling a lot while you were running to get here.”

“No, they just asked why there were so many people here. They are going to have breakfast, choose a Quest to do, and return at dinner to eat pizzas. It seems Nozomu was right, everyone likes pizzas!”

Koyaga winked at her, making Taisetsuna turn bright red, “Yeah, Beast-kind likes pizzas more than anyone else, right? Heheheh!”
